Wolterton Hall (Norfolk) 21.10.11
Wolterton Hall is a large country house which is located in the ecclesiastical parish of Wickmere with Wolterton and the civil parish of Wickmere in the English county of Norfolk, England, United Kingdom. The present hall was completed in 1742 and was designed by the architect Thomas Ripley who was a protégé of the Walpole brothers. The present hall and estate was once occupied by an early manor house, owned by Sir Henry Spelman. The village of Wolterton is mentioned in the Domesday Book where it is listed under the names Ultertuna and Wivetuna. The survey shows main landholder of Wolterton was the Norman nobelman William de Warenne. Horatio Walpole acquired the manor house and estate at Wolterton in 1722 which he decided to renovate. Walpole was the younger brother of Robert Walpole, 1st Earl of Orford, who was a British statesman who is generally regarded as the first Prime Minister of Great Britain

Plantation Garden, Norwich
The Plantation Garden is a restored Victorian town garden located in Earlham Road, Norwich, Norfolk.
The Plantation Garden includes a huge gothic fountain, flower beds, lawns, woodland walkways, rustic bridge, Italianate terrace, ‘Medieval’ terrace wall; and hundreds of architectural details fashionable in the mid 19th century. This idiosyncratic garden was established 140 years ago in a 3-acre (12,000 m2) abandoned chalk quarry and is a haven of peace and tranquillity, and a glimpse into a bygone age.
After falling into disrepair after the Second World War, the Garden was effectively abandoned until 1980, when the Plantation Garden Preservation Trust was set up, with the aim of maintaining the Garden and keeping it open for public access.
Pictures at an Exhibition is a piano suite composed by Mussorgsky in 1874. It remains his most popular work, famed as a showpiece for virtuoso pianists. Dedicated the work to artist and architect friend Viktor Harmann and inspired in the exhibition of Hartmann's work held after his death. Today most of the pictures from the Hartmann exhibit are lost, making it impossible to be sure in many cases which Hartmann works Mussorgsky had in mind. Though composed in 20 days, the work was printed only in 1874. This first Rimsky-Korsakov edition presented many mistakes. Only in 1931 was the work published in agreement with the composers manuscript. The first (incomplete) orchestral arrangement was by Mikhail Tushmalov, followed by Henry Wood, and Maurice Ravel (whose orchestration has since become the most popular version of the work). Hundreds of versions of the work have been produced since (employing a great number of ensambles), sometimes by renowned composers. A number of conductors have made changes to the scoring by Ravel, though, including Toscanini and Golovanov .
