EVERYTHING TO SEE in Agra BEYOND the Taj Mahal | Agra, India
During my second day in Agra we headed out to see everything beyond the Taj Mahal. From the Baby Taj to Agra Fort, there is so much more to see in Agra!

Our first stop of the day was the Baby Taj also known as the Tomb of I'timād-ud-Daulah. The tomb of I'timād-ud-Daulah is often regarded as a draft of the Tāj Mahal. It is a beautiful building and place most people skip when visiting Agra.
Next we headed to the Mehtab Bagh which is also known as the royal gardens. From here you get some of the best views of the Taj Mahal. Sunrise and sunset are the best times to visit the gardens.
The last site on our tour was Agra Fort, it was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty till 1638, when the capital was shifted from Agra to Delhi. The Agra fort is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Agra Fort is a wall city with many palaces within it.
To end our tour we headed to The Master Chef restaurant to try some Petha. This sweet is famous in Agra. It's a translucent soft candy. usually rectangular or cylindrical, it is made from the ash gourd vegetable. It's extremely hard and sweet!
This is really everything you must see beyond the Taj Mahal. Most people only visit Agra for a day but I recommend you spend two nights to be able to see all the main sites and the Taj Mahal.

AGRA CITY TOUR, INDIA ????????
There's a lot more to Agra than just the Taj Mahal, and in this video I aim to delve further into what else the city has to offer. I begin at the well preserved Agra Fort, and continue on towards the chaotic yet vibrant backstreets surrounding the stunning Jama Masjid mosque, known as Kinari Bazaar. I finish the video off with a sunset trip to Itmad-ud-Daula, also nicknamed the 'Baby Taj'.

Agra City Guide | Taj Mahal Travel Video in Uttar Pradesh, India Video Transcript:
Well good morning good morning. Today we are in Agra (आगरा). How excited are you? Super excited. I mean 'hey guess what' there is a little kind of tiny attraction here we might be visiting. Maybe the Taj Mahal (ताजमहल). The Taj Mahal (ताजमहल) is actually closed on Fridays and we didn't realize that until we got here. So we can't visit today but instead we're going to visit Agra Fort (आगरा का किला). Yeah. And maybe the Baby Taj Mahal. Yeah, and the good news is that I've actually been to Agra (آگرہ) before and I've been to Agra Fort (आगरा का किला) and it is one of the most impressive I've ever visited in India. If this fort was outside of Agra (आगरा) it would be a standalone attraction in another city. So we're going to go check that out today and maybe check out the Taj from across the river. And then we have to buy tickets for the Taj. Right so busy day actually. Let's begin.
Agra Fort (आगरा का किला) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that draws big numbers, especially on a Friday when the Taj is closed. Admission to Agra Fort (आगरा का किला) is through the Amar Singh Gate, which is the south gate. Outside the gates you’ll find guides offering their services, so that’s something you can keep in mind if you’re looking to learn about the fort’s history and architecture.
So we've been getting all of these like teaser views of the Taj. Last night we had it during dinner and today we have this. And I think we're going to get one more vantage point later on in the day. And then finally tomorrow we actually visit it.
Once you walk through a series of gates, you’ll find yourself in a giant complex of marble palaces, inner courtyards and gardens, complete with wild monkeys running along the fort’s walls.
You also get some pretty cool views of the Taj Mahal (ताजमहल) off in the distance - but we’ll show you an even better lookout point later in this video.
The Taj Mahal (ताजमहल) was built by Shah Jahan as a memorial for his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal, who died giving birth to their 14th child in 1631. He wrote that the beauty of the structure made “the sun and the moon shed tears from their eyes”, and while I may not have shed a tear, it’s a sight that did not disappoint.
So we made it to the Baby Taj Mahal (Tomb of I'timād-ud-Daulah - اعتماد الدولہ کا مقبر).
So our last stop of the day is the Mehtab Gardens (मेहताब बाग़ - مہتاب باغ,) which are directly behind the Taj Mahal (ताजमहल) so you get some pretty cool views.
so that is a wrap from Agra (आगरा).
This is part of our Travel in India video series showcasing Indian food, Indian culture and Indian cuisine.

Places To Visit In Agra | Where To Go Other Than Taj Mahal | DesiGirl Traveller
In this video, I have explored several monuments of Agra. We all know that Taj Mahal (one of the world’s wonders) is in Agra and many people come to the city to witness this beauty. However, the beauty of Agra city is not just limited to Taj Mahal. There’s a lot to explore in this city. I have visited a few of the beautiful monuments and forts in Agra including Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Fatehpuri Masjid, Mehtab Bagh etc. Everyone knows about Taj Mahal. It doesn’t need an introduction. We know that this monument is one amongst the World’s Wonders, one amongst the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, a legend of eternal love of an Emperor for his favourite Queen. Well, Taj Mahal has distinctions much beyond just these. Therefore, it surely deserves your visit once and more.
.
Agra Fort is another monument which you must visit when you are in Agra. This fort was built in the year 1573 by the king Akbar - one of the greatest Mughal Emperors. It is said that in-total 4000 workers worked for 8 years to complete the construction of this fort. This fort was built with an idea to make it the main residence of the Mughals. The architecture of Agra Fort which is also known as Red Fort of Agra is simply brilliant. This fort houses many impressive structures inside it including Khas Mahal, Jahangir Mahal, Diwan-e-Aaam, Diwan-e-Khaas, Moti Masjid, Machchhi Bhawan and a lot more. This fort is just 2.5 kilometers away from the Taj Mahal and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
.
Other than Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, Fatehpuri Masjid and Mehtab Bagh are the few places where tourist can visit in Agra. So, guys, that was all from my trip to Agra. I have done a few other videos on Agra, putting the links below. I hope you enjoy this video. Keep spreading love and share your travel stories with me. Loads of Love.

Agra Tourist Places | Best Places to visit in Agra
The tourist places in Agra are second to none.
Agra Ka Taj Mahal
It houses one of the seven wonders of the world, Taj Mahal and even has two other unesco world heritage sites.
So here is what I visited in Agra :-
1) TAJ MAHAL -
Words can not express it's beauty, one has to visit Taj Mahal to admire this monument of love.
Taj Mahal is closed during Friday's and opens from sunrise to sunset.
Foreign nationals fees is ₹ 1100/- and if one wants to visit the mausoleum he has to pay a additional fee of ₹200/-
I feel one should visit the Taj Mahal in the morning to avoid the rush.
One needs to hop on a Electric tuk tuk from the car parking area, charges are ₹10/- per person.
Shoe covers are also needed which will cost ₹10/-
Bag packs or any other carry bags are not allowed inside the Taj Mahal.
Regular Entry Fees for Indians ₹50
Location :-
2) AGRA FORT -
It's the residence of the Mughal Empire, it houses Sheesh Mahal, Akbar Mahal, diwan E Aam and a masque.
This red sandstone fort was even ruled by the Maratha Empire before coming under the British Empire.
Entry Fees for Indians ₹40
Location :-
3) FETHPUR SIKRI -
A town made by mughal emperor Akbar on the outskirts of Agra, it acted as it's second capital.
It houses a dargah of sufi saint Salim Chishti.
One has to park his car at the designated govt car parking at ₹100/- for visiting Fethpur Sikri.
There is a CNG bus that takes you to the fort for ₹10/- per person.
Entry Fees for indians ₹50
Location :-
4) AGRA SHOE MARKET -
Agra is the biggest footwear manufacturing hub in India. So one can shop for surplus goods from Sadar Bazaar and buy leather footwear at extremely reasonable prices.
Do watch my dedicated agra shoe shopping for reference.
5) AGRA STREET FOOD -
One can not miss Agra street food if one visits the Taj City.
I recommend you to savour Bedhai Puri, Alu Tikki Chat and Petha during your visit.
Do watch my dedicated agra street food for reference.

Agra, India: Places to visit : 6 day Tour
There are lot of Monuments and mausoleums in Agra, normally we think of Agra and what strikes first is Taj Mahal. I spent 6 days in Agra, visited couple of places, this can video can serve as guide for travellers.
You may want to support this channel:
I also covered some of the food joints in Agra, which has been shown in a separate video.
Within the 6 day time frame, i tried covering as much as possible, but i am sure there is much more to Agra than what has been shown in this video.
Given below is a list of Mausoleums and monuments i visited during 6 day trip in Agra:
1.Taj Mahal: Most popular tourist destination of Agra, lacs of visitors travel here every day. This Mausoleum was built by Mughal emperor Shah jahan in memory of his wife- Mumtaz Mahal.
Taj Mahal closed day: Friday.
2. Agra fort: It was residence of Mughal emperors until the Mughal capital was shifted from Agra to Delhi in 1638. Also called as Lal Qila, It is about 3 kms from Taj Mahal. It was made by Akbar in its present state, construction was completed in 1573. Agra fort is the place where Mughal emperor Shah jahan was put under house arrest by his son Aurangzeb during 1658 to 1666.
3. Guru Ka Tal Gurudwara: Dedicated to 9th Sikh Guru: Guru Tegh Bahadur ji. This is the place from where the Guru offered voluntary arrest to Aurangzeb. Water of Agra is salty but water of Gurudwara is sweet by the blessings of Guru. Langar in the Gurudwara is served 24 hours.
Distance from Agra cantt: 11 kms.
Distance from Sikandra: 2 kms
4. Sikandra: It is the Mausoleum of Mughal emperor Akbar. Construction of this tomb was completed by Akbar’s son - Jahangir between 1605 and 1613. Sikandra is name of the place, while the tomb is called - Akbar’s tomb.
Distance between Taj Mahal and Sikandra fort: 19 kms.
5. Fatehpur sikri: This city served as capital of Mughal emperor Akbar during the period 1571 to 1585. Some of the important buildings in the city: Buland Darwaza, tomb of salim chishti, Jama masjid, Diwan-i-aam, Diwan-i- khas, Ibadat khana, plus there are many more covered in the video.
Distance from taj Mahal: 45 kms, takes about 2 hours to travel on taxi.
Suggestion: Take a ASI guide along, who is available near ticket counter, you will not get officla guide at Buland Darwaza. There fee is about Rs 450 but it’s worth it.
Caution: You will notice many people there who will try to get some money offering guide services at cheaper cost, you will need to avoid them.
6. Sri Mankameshwar Temple: One of the ancient temples devoted to Lord shiva, Temple is situated at Rawatpara near Agra fort railway station. Lord Shiva wished Darshana of lord Krishna in child form for which he stayed here at this place.
7. Tomb of Itmad-Ud-Daulah: This is the tomb was commissioned by Nur Jahan, wife of Jahangir for her father Mirza Ghiyas Beg .Built during 1622-1628 A.D, sometimes also called as Baby Taj.
Distance from Agra cantt: 9 kms.
Distance from Taj Mahal: 5 kms
8. Kalakriti: Theatre show about making of Taj Mahal, why it was built. Interesting to watch, if you love theatre, good performance by artists.
3 categories of tickets: Rs 1200, Rs 1500, Rs 1800.
Show timings: 7.45 pm to 8 pm, can be heard in multiple languages by use of ear phones, state of the art theatre experience at Agra. In particular i liked the small Taj that was shown towards the end of the program.
9. Ram bagh: Built by first Mughal emperor Babar for the purpose of relaxation.
Distance from Agra cantt: 9 kms
Good garden, well maintained , can be visited to spend good time with nature, lot of greenery around.
There are many other places as well but the ones visited by me attract lot of tourist interest.

Taj Mahal - The stunningly beautiful mausoleum of Shah Jahan, the fifth Mughal emperor, and his wife.
Taj Mahal at Agra, India is one of the wonders of the world. The Taj Mahal (4K) was commissioned by Shah Jahan in 1631, to be built in the memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal, a Persian princess who died giving birth to their 14th child, Gauhara Begum. The Taj Mahal incorporates and expands on design traditions of Persian and earlier Mughal architecture. Note: Video recording is prohibited inside the Taj Mahal. So apologies for not posting Taj Mahal interior videos.
The FIRST site on our tour was Agra Fort, it was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty till 1638, when the capital was shifted from Agra to Delhi. The Agra fort is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Agra Fort is a wall city with many palaces within it.
Next we headed to Taj Mahal at Agra, India is one of the wonders of the world. The Taj Mahal incorporates and expands on design traditions of Persian and earlier Mughal architecture. Note: Video recording is prohibited inside the Taj Mahal. So apologies for not posting Taj Mahal interior videos.
3rd Stop was fathepur sikri, Fatehpur sikri was built by Mughal emperor Akbar. It is 37 kms from Agra, through our own cab it took us about one and a half hour to reach this
Mausoleum.
We also visited Local Craft shop who is supporting Taj Mahal all time.

The Complete Agra Red Fort Tour in English | Agra, India | 18D17 Day 3C | India Travel Vlog
You are watching one of my India Travel Videos and today I will be showing you Agra Red Fort in Agra, India.
Agra Fort or Red Fort is located on the bank of the Yamuna Rriver in Agra, India, which used to be part of the Mughal Empires in the 17th century.
It is a massive red sandstone fort that stretches 2.5 km in circumference and had more than 500 buildings inside and lots of underground chambers.
It’s like a city within the boundaries of a fort. Today, only 30 building survived inside the fort.
Agra Red Fort was built by Mughal emperor Akbar and then his grandson Shah Jahan added extensions using marble. The fort has 4 gates and one of them leads to the river. 40,000 workers worked 8 years to build this fort.
Some of the famous places inside the fort:
- A glass palace that has lots of tiny mirrors on the wall.
- The pearl mosque.
- A white marble palace.
- An open arena where emperors used to give visitations to the kings and guests.
- An octagonal tower where emperor Shah Jahan was held as a prisoner by his son. Shah Jahan spent his last few years here with his daughter and looking at the Taj Mahal.
- A black stone bowl that was used as a bathtub by the emperors.
My next video will be in historic sites in Agra like Taj Mahal and Baby Taj.

Taj Mahal Travel Guide - Agra - India Golden Triangle Tour
The Taj Mahal is an ivory-white marble Islamic mausoleum on the south bank of the Yamuna river in the Indian city of Agra. It was commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan (reigned from 1628 to 1658) to house the tomb of his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal; it also houses the tomb of Shah Jahan himself. The tomb is the centrepiece of a 17-hectare (42-acre) complex, which includes a mosque and a guest house, and is set in formal gardens bounded on three sides by a crenellated wall.
Construction of the mausoleum was essentially completed in 1643, but work continued on other phases of the project for another 10 years. The Taj Mahal complex is believed to have been completed in its entirety in 1653 at a cost estimated at the time to be around 32 million rupees, which in 2015 would be approximately 52.8 billion rupees (U.S. $827 million). The construction project employed some 20,000 artisans under the guidance of a board of architects led by the court architect to the emperor, Ustad Ahmad Lahauri.
The Taj Mahal was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983 for being the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage. It is regarded by many as the best example of Mughal architecture and a symbol of India's rich history. The Taj Mahal attracts 7–8 million visitors a year and in 2007, it was declared a winner of the New7Wonders of the World (2000–2007) initiative.
The Taj Mahal was commissioned by Shah Jahan in 1631, to be built in the memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal, a Persian princess who died on 17 June that year, giving birth to their 14th child, Gauhara Begum. Construction started in 1632, and the mausoleum was completed in 1643, while the surrounding buildings and garden were finished five years later. The imperial court documenting Shah Jahan's grief after the death of Mumtaz Mahal illustrates the love story held as the inspiration for the Taj Mahal.
The Taj Mahal incorporates and expands on design traditions of Persian and earlier Mughal architecture. Specific inspiration came from successful Timurid and Mughal buildings including the Gur-e Amir (the tomb of Timur, progenitor of the Mughal dynasty, in Samarkand), Humayun's Tomb which inspired the Charbagh gardens and hasht-behesht (architecture) plan of the site, Itmad-Ud-Daulah's Tomb (sometimes called the Baby Taj), and Shah Jahan's own Jama Masjid in Delhi. While earlier Mughal buildings were primarily constructed of red sandstone, Shah Jahan promoted the use of white marble inlaid with semi-precious stones. Buildings under his patronage reached new levels of refinement.
Tomb
The tomb is the central focus of the entire complex of the Taj Mahal. It is a large, white marble structure standing on a square plinth and consists of a symmetrical building with an iwan (an arch-shaped doorway) topped by a large dome and finial. Like most Mughal tombs, the basic elements are Persian in origin.
The base structure is a large multi-chambered cube with chamfered corners forming an unequal eight-sided structure that is approximately 55 metres (180 ft) on each of the four long sides. Each side of the iwan is framed with a huge pishtaq or vaulted archway with two similarly shaped arched balconies stacked on either side. This motif of stacked pishtaqs is replicated on the chamfered corner areas, making the design completely symmetrical on all sides of the building. Four minarets frame the tomb, one at each corner of the plinth facing the chamfered corners. The main chamber houses the false sarcophagi of Mumtaz Mahal and Shah Jahan; the actual graves are at a lower level.
