Lake Tahoe: Inspiration Point
Inspiration Point is a VIRTUAL cache. The fall colors were peaked and parking was like a mall at Christmas. Obviously The Captain had experience at this and got us a front row spot. He was showing off his barking lizards to strangers (laughter). Lake Taho (we learned) is 1600+ feet deep and the bottom elevation is 95' lower than Carson City. Remember that for the next time you're on Jeopardy. Good times.

After heading out for Yosemite to record our GAW entry episode, we decided to drive up to another iconic California destination to reveal the winner. Lake Tahoe.
Given the heavy snowfall this year, without snowshoes, a hike in the area would prove fairly challenging. So instead, we decided to head out to Inspiration Point in South Lake Tahoe and find out who won.
So follow along with us as select a winner of the awesome Atlas Athlete photo backpack.

Family Camping at D.L. Bliss State Park: Our Last Day & Departure (7-17-14)
Watch in high quality (480p). In this video, it shows our last day during our family camping here at D.L. Bliss State Park. We had departured the place shortly before noon time.
First off, we started the morning early by seeing a sunrise over Lake Tahoe from Lester Beach. It was only Richie, my sis, me, Steven and Christian that went while everyone else was sleeping back at the camp (and at the hotel suite in the city at Harrah's!) Quite a few of us went to the city the previous afternoon and evening to take a look around at the casinos and around the Stateline area. But under the circumstances, we wanted them to stay there and just get a hotel since driving back to camp at night was risky, given the circumstances and whatnot.
After seeing the peaceful, calming, serene sunrise over the lake at Lester Beach, we headed back to camp and we ate our last breakfast. Auntie Rowena was behind the camera, finally letting me in the video. I was pretty much hidden behind the camera much of the trip lol. While cooking breakfast, Uncle Abe and Auntie Rowena said if I did all that I wanted and I said yes, at last! I have seen a sunset, a sunrise, experienced a thunderstorm just the previous evening, hiked along Rubicon trail and just simply enjoyed my time in the great outdoors!
Then we packed up all our things, tore down our tents, and basically get ready to leave. The rest of the gang that came from the hotel finally came in the nick of time since checkout was a noon and it was already a few hours prior to that. If we stay past noon, we gotta pay another evening here! Luckily we still made it. Once we got all our things and made the place ready for the next campers, we did our final, traditional family group pic. Then after the pics, we did our prayer for a safe journey back home and blessed the time we had here as a family.
By noon time, we all went our separate ways. Me, Richie, sis, and Christian stopped by the Inspiration Point Vista for last minute views of Lake Tahoe. It had provided stunning views of Emerald Bay as well. Then we stopped at Richardson's Ice Cream Parlor to try their amazing ice cream. I got the mint chocolate chip which was delicious! Thunderstorms were quickly exploding around the area as we left the Sierras.. (wished I had stayed to see the storms haha). We made one last stop at Sacramento, CA to eat our late lunch at the Krush Burger restaurant. It was like In-N-Out and 5 Guys combined, but with mini burgers. It was officially the end of our camping trip from there on. Til next year, happy camping, everyone!
*Summary of our camping trip at D.L. Bliss State Park:
Me and my family's annual camping trip this year was at D.L. Bliss State Park. It is located on the western shore of Lake Tahoe just north of Emerald Bay. Our camping trip was from July 14-17, 2014. We had enjoyed our stay, despite the strict rules and regulations. We had hiked along the Rubicon Trail, enjoyed the beach life at Lester Beach and went to the city of Tahoe. We had so much food and BBQ! We had a wonderful time together exploring and enjoying the area around Lake Tahoe and D.L. Bliss State Park.
