Nice Firework Festival in Japan

Sumidagawa Fireworks Festival is a festival of fireworks on the banks of the Sumida River in Tokyo, Japan. Fireworks festival is held once a year every Saturday last week of July. Along Tokyo Bay Grand Fireworks Festival and Fireworks Festival Jingū Gaien, this festival among the three biggest fireworks in Tokyo.
Fireworks festival was first held on July 9 1733 as the river festival Ryogoku during the reign of Shogun Tokugawa Yoshimune of the Edo Shogunate. The festival is held at the same time as the Festival Suijin to pray for people who died from epidemics of cholera and famine of the year 1732.
At that time the fireworks are still small. The fireworks are launched only about 20 pieces. Implementing fireworks factory when it was fireworks Kagiya. Kagiya and Tamaya turns launching fireworks from two separate places. Spectators who come to watch the act as judges, and chanting the name of the maker, Tamaya or Kagiya, every time they see a good fireworks. Of competition these two firework makers began the tradition of Japanese people who grew up in the middle of the Edo cultural influences to chanting the name of Ta-ma-ya... or Ka-gi-yes... every time I see a good fireworks. At their peak, fireworks production Tamaya has a good reputation. Pique fireworks factory Kagiya reflected in poetry Senryu which reads, Kagiya said, Tamaya and again just Tamaya.
Fireworks at Ryogoku river festival several times not held due to the chaos that accompanied the Meiji Restoration and World War II. The festival is also held from 1961 to 1977, among others due to poor traffic conditions in Tokyo. The fireworks festival was revived in 1978 with the name Sumidagawa Fireworks Festival. After that, the festival is held every year unbroken since 1978.
Fireworks festival is annually visited by approximately one million people in the audience. Location is the mass gathering between Sakurabashi Bridge downstream and upstream Kototoibashi Bridge. Location gathering masses are between Bridge Komagatabashi Umayabashi downstream and upstream. From these two locations was launched more than 20,000 pieces fireworks, fireworks competition as well do best.
In 2011 after the disastrous earthquake and tsunami in Sendai in 2011, fireworks festivals in Tokyo, respectively canceled. However Sumidagawa Fireworks Festival still held, only the date of the postponed to August 27, 2011 based decision Tokyo Vice Governor Naoki Inose. As a result, the Asakusa Samba Festival in 2011 was canceled as no activities clashed with Sumidagawa Fireworks Festival.
The largest festival of fireworks Sumida is an annual festival taking place on the last Saturday in July, along the Sumida near Asakusa. Unlike most fireworks taking place in the world, Sumidagawa Hanabi Taikai is primarily a contest between groups pyrotechnics. Each group trying to bring the best show which gives rise to an incredible variety of fireworks both in form and in color. This show is a tradition of the period Edo and attracts nearly a million people. Similar events are held on the same day throughout Japan.
The tradition began in 1732 when the fireworks were launched as part of the festival of the dead. The country was a serious economic crisis, the people suffered from starvation and disease. Thus, rituals and celebrations throughout the fireworks have played multiple roles. It was to mourn the dead while entertaining the poor.
The fireworks are generally used for entertainment, events and parties, especially the visual effect / sound is often amplified by the environment, as happens in space in front of a mirror of water or near monuments, ruins, amphitheatres, squares, valleys or particular natural conformation.
The great fireworks planes alongside the fires of the square, air or by land, low power and the location of the launch at the location from which the fireworks are observed, and other minor compositions, with small fireworks mounted on particular structures or even the batteries of honor that are tied to particular manifestations of folklore, such as, for example, the dance of the pupa.
In fireworks are used different types of chemical compounds, typically to give a well-determined color to the flames generated by the combustion of the various elements. In this regard, please refer to the basics of the technique and the results of the essay to the flame that teaches how to recognize the presence of certain compounds from the color taken from the flame that burns them.

Senso-ji: Tokyo's Oldest Temple!
In 628, Japan's capital was at Asuka (present day Nara Prefecture) and what would become Tokyo was still mostly uninhabited grasslands. Two fishermen, Hinokuma Hamanari and his brother Takenari, were on the Sumida River one day when they heard a command from the heavens to cast their net. When they brought up the net, they saw that they had caught a golden statue of the Bodhisattva Kannon.
Hearing of this from the Hinokuma brothers, village head Haji Nakamoto decided that he would become a devout believer in Bodhisattva Kannon. He took vows as a Buddhist priest, remade his home into a temple and spent the rat of his life practicing Buddhism. This episode marks the birth of Tokyo's oldest temple and the start of Senso-ji's history.
In 645, the renowned Buddhist priest Shokai visited Asakusa and built a hall for the worship of the Bodhisattva Kannon; that makes him the actual founder of Senso-ji. After having a mysterious dream one night, Shokai decided that Bodhisattva cannon should be hidden from human view, and it has remained so ever since. Word of blessing bestowed by Bodhisattva Kannon spread wide and far, and many people who heard of this came to worship at Senso-ji from all over Japan. As a result, Asakusa flourished and grew into a large district.
In the mid ninth century, Ennin (794-864), the highest ranking priest of Enryaku-ji, the head temple of the Tendai School of Buddhism, visited Senso-ji, created a Statue of Bodhisattva Kannon identical to the hidden one and called its spirit into the new statue. Senso-ji, thus further developed by Ennin, attracted devout faithful not only amongst commoners but also famous samurai and persons of culture. Designated a sacred site of prayer for the shogunate of shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu (1543-1616), founder of the Edo shogunate, Senso-ji reached a peak of prosperity.
Over the intervening centuries until today, Senso-ji has remained a center of culture and worship in Tokyo. It continues to be very influential in people's lives, and with millions of people visiting each year, it is one of Japan's most familiar temples.
Senso-ji and Asakusa are intimately linked. The two names are written using the same Chinese characters (浅草) but pronounced differently, Senso being the Chinese pronunciation and Asakusa the native Japanese Pronunciation.
