The road trip conjures up memories of long hours spent on the road, embracing the lulling motion of the car and the exhilarating feeling of exploring the unknown. New sights and experiences are around each bend. Like the impossibly blue lake on the side of the road that you spontaneously decide to stop at and jump into. And the moose that amiably blocks traffic on the highway, standing impressively taller than your vehicle. And the miles of winding roads prompting quiet contemplation of the beauty all around you.

Ce site est reconnu mondialement et, par le fait même, très fréquenté. Il y a plusieurs espaces de stationnement, mais lorsque nous sommes arrivés, nous avons dû faire le tour à plusieurs reprises avant de trouver un espace pour garer notre voiture.
Si aucun stationnement n'est disponible, il est possible de laisser la voiture sur un stationnement situé près du centre de ski. Une navette gratuite est offerte entre les deux établissements.
Le lac Louise, dont la couleur est vert émeraude, est niché entre le glacier Victoria et le Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, un des établissements les plus prestigieux de cette région.
Le ciel est dégagé, nous permettant ainsi de profiter d'un panorama extraordinaire digne d'une vraie carte postale.
Il faut dire que depuis notre arrivée, nous sommes ébahis par la beauté de chaque paysage que nous découvrons au fil de nos déplacements. Et dire que ce pays est le nôtre! Quel beau pays que le Canada!
La location de canots est offerte au hangar à bateaux sur la rive ouest du lac au taux horaire de 65 $ pour les clients de l'hôtel et 105 $ pour ceux qui ne le sont pas.
Il y a un sentier de 2 km (aller seulement) qui longe le Lac Louise à sa droite et qui mène à une superbe plage de sable blanc et qui permet d'avoir de magnifiques vues sur le lac et l'hôtel.
Il est possible de poursuivre la randonnée dans la Plaine-des-Six-Glaciers, un paysage composé de sommets et glaciers majestueux. Un véritable trésor! Nous l'avons fait. Une vidéo suivra.

If you have kids, taking the gondola up the Lake Louise Ski Hill is a great trip for the whole family. Not only do you get great views across the valley, but you can add on the Trail of the Great Bear guided hike and the whole family can learn about Grizzly Bears in Banff National Park.
If you’re tired of the crowds at Lake Louise, consider a trip to the Lake Louise Ski Resort, on the other side of the valley. This is a great family trip, and combines great views, a bit of hiking and lots of information from the Wildlife Interpretive Centre. We suggest adding on the Trail of the Great Bear guided hike if you have kids, as kids love the information and hike on this trail.
Buy your ticket for the gondola either online or at the base area. If you want a guided hike, you can also buy it online beforehand (or at the Wildlife Interpretive Centre at Whitehorn Lodge).

Everything about this trip was spectacular. From attempting to summit Mount Temple, Eiffel Peak and Devils Thumb to hiking Plain of Six Glaciers, Big Beehive and enjoying our evening at this amazing- SAMESUN - hostel. Views were spectacular, trails were breathtaking and BANFF AVE beer at the hostel nice and cold. Lake Louise and Moraine lake were simply fantastic. Johnston Canyon cave pleasantly surprised us. This is our take on Banff, Alberta.
