Croatian Island Hopping | PLITVICE LAKES, SPLIT, HVAR, KORCULA, DUBROVNIC
You can go island hopping in Croatia with on an organised boat tour, rent your own yacht or explore the country by land/ ferry.
We flew into Zegreb Airport and from there hired a car and drove to Plitvice lakes. We spent 2 nights @ Hotel Degenija. Two days were more then adequate to explore the lakes.
We then drove to Split and spent 2 nights there exploring the town. Make sure you get some Luka ice-cream.
On Day 5 we got on the ferry to Hvar. We hired a cottage and spent 2 days exploring the old town and beautiful beach coastlines.
Day 7, we got the ferry to Korcula for 3 nights. This is a beautiful little town, a lot quieter than Hvar, we cycled, enjoyed wine tasting, and delicious local cuisines.
Day 10 , we got the ferry to Dubrovnik and spent our last 3 nights there and flew back from Dubrovnik Airport. Plenty to do in Dubrovnik. Walking the city walls, short ferry to Lokrum island especially if a Games of Thrones fan, cable car for the highest point, live musical performance etc.
HVAR ISLAND BOAT TOUR ????????????Blue Cave, Yachts, Carpe Diem Beach & Dolphins
Island hopping by boat in Hvar Island Croatia! We hit the most popular thing to do for tourists, Blue Cave, then hit Zori restaurant for lunch at Palmizana beach, then check out Carpe Diem Beach. Recommended to rent a boat and do all these things! This boat was about $600 for a full-day, up to 6 ppl (we should've just paid for a half day). But there are various boats and price ranges to choose from!
What are your Hvar and Croatia tips!

VIS, Croatia. Pure Island Paradise in the Adriatic Sea.
We explore the incredible island of Vis, Croatia. Vis is in the Adriatic Sea, not far from Hvar Island. We stay in Vis town and explore the two sides of the town, Kut and Luka. We also rent bikes and head to the Grandovac beach where we go swimming, afterwards we grab some ice cream. In the evening we visit a restaurant called Lola where we have some fantastic local white wine and a delicious dinner.

The town of Vis:
The town of Vis is located in the north-eastern part of the island Vis in the bottom of a well protected bay. It developed from the former settlements Kut and Luka, which became one entity in the 16th century by the building of the church Gospa od Spilica. The villages from the eastern side of the island such as: Zenka, Milna, Bargujac, Podstražje, Podselje, Plisko Polje and Marine Zemlje gravitate to the town. Since the World War II the whole island had been a military area. The tourism on Vis began to develop significantly with the demilitarisation of the island at the beginning of the war (1991-1995) in Croatia. So, it has been only 15 years ago that both the island and its town opened for the visit of tourists. The remains of the military objects in the northwest and northeast part of the Bay of Vis are the witnesses of the stay of the Yugoslav Army.
During the last hundred years a part of the population emigrated in the search for better living conditions. There are only about 2000 people living in the town of Vis, and around 3500 on the whole island. Many visitors, and especially the yachtsmen, are coming more and more to Vis. In every moment you can see changes in life-style, but at the same time Vis has kept the old, irresistible Mediterranean charm and life without stress and trouble. The fortresses and the stony piles testify to the thousand-year-old settlement on Vis, and the remains of a theatre built into the foundations of the Franciscan monastery on the peninsula Prirovo, antique therms or the Hellenistic cemetery, confirm that Vis is one of the oldest urban centres in Croatia.
Places featured:
Grandovac Beach:
Grandovac is the closest beach to the village of Kut. It is an easy twenty minute walk on a flat path that takes you along the waterfront, past some of the old stone homes in the village and then past newer homes that have been built since the island allowed people to return. Towards the end of the walk, you will see the old abandoned Czech Villa, once a glorious building but now completely ruined inside. Don’t forget to look at the street art on the abandoned building on the right just before the villa.
Lola Restaurant:
Named after their daughter, this restaurant combines the personal touch (ingredients home-grown by the chef’s parents, individual furnishings handpicked by the couple from around Europe) with very well executed dishes. Everything about this restaurant has been done with consideration and love, and as a result within the first week of opening, customers who discovered Lola quickly got addicted and made return trips, such that Lola’s first Saturday night was already spilling with customers.

10 Things to do in Hvar, Croatia Travel Guide Video Transcript:
We have finally made it to one of my dream destinations. We're in Hvar, Croatia so and oh my it is beautiful. Today we have blue skies so we're just going to run around like crazy to show you guys Hvar.
As you probably already know, we never start sightseeing without a good meal, so the first item on our list was to find some breakfast. This proved to be a little tricky considering we were visiting during low season, but after a few false starts we settled down at BB Club for shakshuka, omelettes, nutella crepes and cappuccinos.
With bellies full, we were ready explore and our eyes were set on the fortress, which is the focal point when you gaze up from the Old Town.
Reaching the fortress means walking straight uphill, but there are a few scenic stops along the way, including a beautiful park, a seemingly abandoned church, and plenty of lookouts where you can admire the town and the harbour.
After visiting the fort, we came back to the Old Town and decided to go on a little walk along the waterfront. We hadn’t packed any bathing suits and it was too late in the season to go for a swim, but Audrey was set on testing out the turquoise waters.
Continuing our wander through Hvar Town without a particular place or direction in mind, we then came across a medieval Venetian bell tower that we had noticed peeking through the buildings. The bell tower is part of the Ruins of the Dominican Monastery and St. Mark's Church, and while the structure is closed off, it’s still a cool landmark to visit.
We went to KOGO which is located in the main square just footsteps from St. Stephen’s Cathedral. They specialize in pizzas and pastas, and everything was so tasty!
Lastly, to finish up our 1-day tour of Hvar Town, we walked back to the marina, this time heading left in the direction of the Franciscan Monastery, where we were treated to a magical sunset complete with live music.

Hvar (2017)
Day 17 was spent in hvar, we rented a boat for 500kn (£59.10 between the 3 of us), we spent 10 hours sailing around the islands nearby to hvar and went swimming in some of the clearest water I have ever seen. In the evening we went to carpe diem which is a club off of hvar, entry to the club is 200kn so we decided to do the hvar pub crawl for 250kn which included 1 hour of unlimited drink on a booze cruize, free shots at a bar called jazz bar then free entry to carpe diem and a free shot on entry. At carpe diem we befriended some guys from india who got us into vip, we got tons of free drinks which was awesome. Hvar as a place was very expensive to visit, we were lucky to make friends because drinks in the club were extortionate. I wouldn't recommend hvar as a location for backpackers because most things are pretty expensive (our one meal out cost us about £20 each for a shared starter, main course and 250ml drink ) but I am glad we did visit because it was a beautiful island and we did have a ton of fun!
Croatia | April 2017
We had a wonderful, relaxing and inspiring trip to Croatia over the past Easter Holiday in April. This country has got amazing landscapes and rich culture that deeply filled my soul. Croatian food is one of my fav now, so organic and homy. Consumption level is on the cheaper end compared to average level in the UK.
Also we had an unforgettable couple photography experience with Zeljka. Absolutely talented photographer!
Despite the disappointing hiccup with Hertz car rental (Hertz provided us a faulty vehicle which does not meet the legal requirement, not to say that the model wasn't what we ordered), we then opted for the Croatian car rental company ORYX who provided us excellent service and a reliable car! We absolutely enjoyed the car throughout our 8-day road trip in Croatia. We would strongly recommend ORYX Rent A Car to everyone considering a road trip in Croatia!!!
Below is a brief itinerary of our 8-day road trip in Croatia:
DAY 1-3 Zagreb
Hotel: Best Western Premier Zagreb
DAY 3-4 Zadar
Hotel: Accommodation Piazzetta Marina
DAY 4-5 Krka National Park & Split
Hotel: Luxury Rooms Lucija and Luka
DAY 5-7 Dubrovnik
Hotel: Apartments Adriatic Deluxe
DAY 7-8 Zagreb
Hotel: Cool Rooms Zagreb Airport

Island Hopping in Croatia
With its natural beauty, stunning mountains, turquoise sea and feature as the backdrop of Game of Thrones, Croatia has become a popular European destination -- especially for island hopping!
During my trip to Croatia, we chartered a gulet boat to island hop along the Croatian coast for a week. We spent our days floating in the Adriatic sea, exploring the historic harbor towns and soaking in the Croatian culture.
Being aboard a gulet while cruising along the Dalmatian coast allowed us to see so much of the Croatian islands in just a week. The water was just as turquoise as I had imagined and the Croatian towns we visited were filled with so much history and beauty.
Our island hopping route through coastal Croatia was: Split – Milna – Vis – Hvar – Vela Luka – Korčula – Sumartin – Milna – Split.
Croatia is a popular destination and can become quite crowded in certain places — one challenge was figuring out how to avoid the crowds. Luckily, spending a week on a chartered gulet allows for flexibility in your itinerary. It was amazing being able to change course if we found an island that was too crowded — and this was how we found some of our favorite spots while island hopping in Croatia!
If you have any questions, feel free to drop them in the comments! And don’t forget to subscribe so you’ll be the first to know when I post new videos :)
