Starting Point: John Ross Bridge
Highlights include Market St - Broad St - Chestnut St - MLK Blvd - 7th St - 6th St - 5th St - 4th St - 3rd St - Aquarium Way - Walnut St - Cherry St - Riverfront Parkway.
Chattanooga is the fourth-largest city in the U.S. state of Tennessee, with a population of 167,674 as of the 2010 census, and an estimated population of 171,279 in 2012.[7] The city, which has a downtown elevation of approximately 680 feet (210 m), lies at the transition between the ridge-and-valley portion of the Appalachian Mountains and the Cumberland Plateau. The city is therefore surrounded by various mountains and ridges. The official nickname for Chattanooga is the Scenic City, being reinforced by the city's growing national reputation as a haven for numerous outdoor activities. Several unofficial nicknames include River City, Chatt, Nooga, Chattown, and Gig City, demonstrating Chattanooga's claims that it has the fastest internet service in the Western Hemisphere.[8][9]
Chattanooga is internationally known for the 1941 song, the world's first gold record, Chattanooga Choo Choo, by Glenn Miller and his orchestra.
Chattanooga is home to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) and Chattanooga State Community College.
Attractions
Chattanooga touts many attractions, including the Tennessee Aquarium, caverns, and new waterfront attractions along and across the Tennessee River. In the downtown area is the Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel, housed in the renovated Terminal Station and exhibiting the largest HO model train layout in the United States. Also downtown are the Creative Discovery Museum, a hands-on children's museum dedicated to science, art, and music; an IMAX 3D Theatre, and the newly expanded Hunter Museum of American Art. The Tennessee Riverwalk, an approximately 13-mile (21 km) long trail running alongside the river, is another attraction for both tourists and residents alike.
Across the river from downtown is the North Shore district, roughly bounded by the Olgiati Bridge to the west and Veterans Bridge to the east. The newly renovated area draws locals and tourists to locally owned independent boutique stores and restaurants, plus attractions along the Chattanooga Riverpark system, including Coolidge Park and Renaissance Park.[118][119]
The Chattanooga Zoo at Warner Park is located a short distance from the downtown area.
Parks and natural scenic areas provide other attractions. The red-and-black painted See Rock City barns along highways in the Southeast are remnants of a now-classic Americana tourism campaign to attract visitors to the Rock City tourist attraction in nearby Lookout Mountain, Georgia. The mountain is also the site of Ruby Falls and Craven's House.[121] The Lookout Mountain Incline Railway is a steep funicular railway that rises from the St. Elmo Historic District to the top of the mountain, where passengers can visit the National Park Service's Point Park and the Battles for Chattanooga Museum.[122] Formerly known as Confederama, the museum includes a diorama that details the Battle of Chattanooga. From the military park, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Moccasin Bend and the Chattanooga skyline from the mountain's famous point or from vantage points along the well-marked trail system.[123]
Near Chattanooga, the Raccoon Mountain Reservoir, Raccoon Mountain Caverns, and Reflection Riding Arboretum and Botanical Garden boast a number of outdoor and family fun opportunities. Other arboretums include Bonny Oaks Arboretum, Cherokee Arboretum at Audubon Acres, and Cherokee Trail Arboretum. The Ocoee River, host to a number of events at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, features rafting, kayaking, camping, and hiking. Just outside Chattanooga is the Lake Winnepesaukah amusement park. The Cumberland Trail begins in Signal Mountain, just outside of Chattanooga.
Festivals and events
Chattanooga hosts the well-known Riverbend Festival, an annual nine-day music festival held in June in the downtown area. One of the most popular events is the Bessie Smith Strut, a one-night showcase of blues and jazz music named for the city's most noted blues singer. The annual Southern Brewer's Festival and the River Roast festival celebrate such traditional Southern staples as beer and barbecue.
New events, such as GoFest!, the Between the Bridges wakeboard competition, Heritage Festival, and Talespin, complement well-established events, such as Riverbend and the Southern Brewer's Festival, and attract their own audiences.[124][125] Back Row Films is a city-wide celebration of film co-sponsored by the Hunter Museum of American Art, the Arts & Education Council, and UTC.[126]

Color Outside the Lines | ATL Premiere
On June 21, 2012, Miya Bailey, the talented, innovative tattoo artist, gathered some of his closest family and friends, co-workers, and most renowned tattoo artists in the country for one special night. The occasion? The premiere of his self-produced documentary, Color Outside the Lines. Luckily, the Greedmont Park family was invited to cover this event. Color Outside the Lines is a film (Directed by Artemus Jenkins and scored by GoDreamer) about the struggles of being a black tattoo artist, not just in the south, but around the country and the difficulties they endured on their way to becoming the cream of the crop. With appearances and commentary from some of the top tattoo artists in the nation, White, Black and even Latino, this film is sure to make lovers of not only tattoos, but art, appreciate the creators' talent, mind, and vision.
The premiere was held at the Midtown Art Cinema in Atlanta, Georgia and was filled with people of every color, background, and creed. From white dread heads to the corporate black guy. From the tatted up girl with gauges to the standard hip hop fan. Everyone was there to see a film that they could feel inspired by. At the door you could catch Miya himself, greeting and thanking everyone for coming out and supporting. Around 7:30pm, the theatre started to swell to maximum capacity. The City of Ink artists came in and grabbed their seats around 7:45pm. But, when the legendary Jacci Gresham, walked in, the entire theatre went wild! A standing ovation was given immediately. Shortly after, Miya said he couldn't start the film until Ms. Jacci arrived. Miya and Artemus Jenkins (Director) stood at the front of the theatre to make a few statements on how much the film meant to them, the hard work and effort that was put into it, and to thank everyone who was involved and hoped everyone walked away with something memorable from the documentary. Then it was show time!
Color Outside the Lines contained everything that would be expected from a documentary mostly about the plight of the Black-American tattoo artist in the United States. It tells the history of tattoos or body marking in the African and African-American culture and when blacks started to actually become tattoo artists in the US. Commentary from a few of the black tattoo forefathers Jacci Gresham and Zulu, also two of the oldest in the film, explaining the trials and tribulations they went through becoming professional tattoo artists really put in perspective of how hard blacks had to work to get on a level playing field as their white counterparts. It even gave perspectives from white tattoo artists on how they felt about tattooing on black skin and black tattoo artists. The hilarious, creative Brandon Bond was one of the few white tattoo artists highlighted who kept the audience entertained almost the entire length of the film. He was also present at the premiere. Ms. Julia, the white woman who had no clue how to even do a tattoo, who hired half of the present-day black popular artists in Atlanta with their first professional tattoo job ,also gave great commentary that was filled with several quotables about artists, Tuki Carter, Miya Bailey, and others. This film shows the journey of where tattooing can take artists if they simply put the time and effort into their craft and present quality work. Traveling the world, creating clothing lines (Such as Ed Hardy, who is tattoo artist, often confused with being a designer), and even merchandise, such as shot glasses, cups, etc, are just a few of the benefits outside of making money. The film also captures the life of tattoo artist interns, black women tattoo artists, and even a few scratchers, from all over the country.
If one loves art, tattoos, or just loves to see people passionate about their craft, Color Outside the Lines is a must-see. With eye-popping tattoos by dope artists, this film will keep your attention for the full hour and a half. Appearances by the entire City of Ink crew, Duel, Derrick Verley, Phil Colvin, Red, Gino, Ryan Henry, Seven, Twig Sparks, and many more, the viewer is guaranteed to walk away with a new perspective and respect for tattoos and the artists who create them.

World of Coca Cola Tour in Atlanta (HD)
Recently we visited the World of Coca Cola in Atlanta, Georgia. It was a lot of fun! This video captures most of what we saw and experienced during the do-it-yourself tour.
We were able to find out about the history of Coca Cola, its secret recipe, check out bottling in progress (including work done by a robotic arm called Fizzy Bot), watch a fun 4D movie, see Coke-inspired art, and take photos with the famous polar bear.
Probably the best part was we were able to sample the drinks by the company from around the world, grouped by continents.
Atlantic Station
This unique Atlanta neighborhood has been called a city within a city. It was conceived and developed in accordance with the principles of new urbanism to make it possible for residents to live, work and play in the same neighborhood. It's a walkable area with narrow streets to discourage car traffic and a shuttle bus to the closest station for public transit, MARTA.
Northwest of Midtown and north of Georgia Tech, Atlantic Station rose from the brownfield site of an abandoned steel mill and opened as a sustainable, mixed-use community in 2005. It features towers of Class-A office space, restaurants, retail, nightlife, a supermarket, an 18-screen movie theater, an exhibition center and venues for attractions like Cirque du Soleil and tennis tournaments featuring the top players on the ATP World Tour.
Those who live here are within an easy stroll of Dillard's, H&M, West Elm, Victoria's Secret, Old Navy and many other stores and boutiques. Services include a dry cleaner, fitness center, nail salon, florist and medical and dental offices. Shoppers from adjacent neighborhoods can choose between on-street parking and the spacious underground lot below the retail area.
Retail activity centers around an outdoor mall, The District, fashioned to look and feel like the downtown of 60 years ago. Just outside The District are Target and IKEA, which essentially make it possible for residents to remain inside the perimeter for the remainder of their lives.
There is greenspace, too. In Central Park, at the heart of The District, there are movies in the summer and tables for eating outdoors. Southwest of The District is Foundry Park, where Atlantic Station opens an ice skating rink from November to February. There is a full calendar of events at Atlantic Station, with outdoor yoga, improv in the park, cornhole competitions and holiday celebrations. Year-round, the neighborhood has a small-town feel in a big city environment.
Atlantic Station also includes the Millennium Gate, erected to recall classical monuments, which houses the most comprehensive museum of Georgia history in the state and hosts other exhibitions throughout the year. It's built alongside a three-acre lake framed by a colonnade with climbing roses.
The convenience to food, nightspots, a gym and movies affords a young and contemporary vibe that makes Atlantic Station attractive to a young demographic. It has the sixth most popular Twitter feed among retail centers in the nation. The median age of residents is 26. And according to Time magazine, Atlanta ranks second only to Austin, Texas, as one of the best cities in the country to be a Millennial.
From affordable to luxury, there are many condos, lofts and apartments at Atlantic Station. TWELVE Atlantic Station is a 26-story, state-of-the-art condominium high-rise with a 24-hour concierge, pool and workout facilities. The Art Foundry, another condominium development, offers residents an upscale gym and spa. At Element, a mid-rise condo complex, residents have views of the Millennium Gate, a pool, fitness center, clubroom, dog park and a Zen garden with a fountain.
Many residents of Atlantic Station work close by and can walk to work. But those who need to commute have easy access to Interstates 75 and 85.
