I headed out to Newquay last weekend armed with my drone and my trusty Sony, only to discover I'd forgotten my SD card. Pretty standard stuff. After a (brief) tantrum I decided to go ahead with the filming using my phone. Let this video be a testament to the fact that we shouldn't let our camera gear impact our creative output. It's easy to forget that I have a 2 year old phone in my pocket that's capable of recording 4k footage that can still look pretty sexy.
Footage captured in Newquay, Cornwall on the 17th February just minutes before I had my hair chopped.

The most popular holiday destination in Cornwall boasts 9 stunning beaches and a wide variety of amenities from surf shacks to high street brands and superb dining experiences. The Jamie Oliver inspired Fifteen restaurant and Fistral Beach, Britain's surfing mecca, are well known draws, yet Newquay offers so much more from secret beach walks to easy access to the rest of Cornwall.
Being just 7 miles from the A30 trunk road means that the towns of Padstow (10 miles) and St. Ives (20 miles) are within easy reach along with the county capital of Truro (10 miles). Newquay's history is influenced by Cornwall's mining trades where the town became a port for the transportation of tin lead and clay during the industrial revolution. Step off the sand and there are a number of places to visit in the town, such as Newquay Zoo in Trenance Park, a 20 minute walk from the seafront, The Blue Reef Aquarium on Town Beach in the centre and Tunnels through Time.
Further afield there are many attractions within a short drive, such Cornwall's Crealy Adventure Park, the Lappa Valley Steam Railway, Dairyland Farm World all of which are within a 10 mile drive. Further afield, The Eden Project, The National Maritime Museum in Falmouth, Flambards in Helston and Land's End make for great days out.

The Saturday Men is a unique opportunity to go behind the scenes of one of Englands oldest football clubs, West Bromwich Albion, and join the Baggies on and off the pitch.
This absorbing documentary is a celebration of the beautiful game, but it is also an important milestone in film-making, forming part of the ground-breaking Free Cinema movement.
Made for the Ford Motor Companys Look at Britain series in 1962, The Saturday Men was directed by John Fletcher, one of the leading lights of the Free Cinema movement. This is one of the earliest examples of the fly-on-the-wall documentary style which is such a firm favourite of filmmakers today, the non-intrusive observational method allowing unrivalled access to the real lives of the subjects.
This innovative style lets you see West Bromwichs First Division squad in training, chatting casually, playing golf, at home with family and turning out at The Hawthorns for a Saturday showdown. There's the tension of the match build-up, the passion of the fans, unique access to the boardroom and a chance to hear manager Archie Macaulay deliver his team talk. The Saturday Men features big names including Bobby Robson, Don Howe, David Burnside and Alec Jackson, but reflects how distant the lives of football stars of the 1960s are removed from todays privileged players including Welsh International Stuart Williams preparing for a new career in sales.
The music from James Harpham perhaps best known for composing the music from iconic BBC TV series Tenko enhances this atmospheric documentary, but the roar of the crowd as The Saturday Men take to the park is the ideal soundtrack to this film.
The Saturday Men was rightly praised in its own day, and now is not only an important piece of social history, but also a significant milestone in the development of documentary making. It is also a very special record of classic era for all football fans.
GOLF SIXES JUNIOR GOLF COMP AT NEWQUAY GC
In todays video I travel to Newquay Golf Club to watch the final round of this years Golf Sixes Junior Golf Comp.
I filmed the penultimate round a few weeks ago at Killiow and today decides who are the final winners overall.
The teams are from Newquay Golf Club, Killiow Golf Club, St Austell Golf Club and Carlyon Bay Golf Club.

I am a newbie golfer, 53 Years old and lets say, hmm a BIG lad... But that doesn't stop me, I have a passion for the sport and although I have lots to learn I want to prove to people that Golf can be enjoyed by anyone, regardless of age, size, shape or experience.
BIG OGGIE GOLF is my new channel dedicated to ALL golfers.
We can't all be professional or scratch standard and many of us will never get close, but we can still have FUN.
So there will be regular Vlogs, Product reviews and Golf Course reviews from around the UK as well as Worldwide.
We will meet many golfers and golf fans along the way and I hope you will get to see things a little differently from the usual Golf Youtube Channels out there.
There will also be lots of fun to be had and once the channel is established regular Competitions for Channel subscribers to take part in.
Golf sometimes gets a bad press and whilst occasionally that might be justified I hope to show it as not quite as stuffy and stereotyped as one would imagine.
There will also be my thoughts on what makes golf seem so stressful for people just starting out, and I will be looking at ways of making that all important first step a little easier.
