The Death of Llandudno North Shore beach
The destruction of Llandudno North Shore beach is a man made disaster. Conwy County Borough Council dumped thousands of tonnes of quarry rocks onto the beach. Now, the beach is dying. With each tide and, as each day passes, we lose more of the beach to the rocks and, the beach slowly dies. The North Shore used to be known as 'The Sands', but sadly not anymore. Areas were children used to play and enjoy donkey rides, are now 'no go' areas. Where family picnics used to be enjoyed, the quarry rocks have covered. Access to the beach is now extremely difficult, many say its dangerous. For some its impossible to get onto what beach is left. People have been hurt, with one child breaking their arm and, an elderly gentleman ended up in hospital. Still no one within Conwy County Borough Council appears to be accountable. Its a tragedy and a disgrace that the town finds itself fighting those that serve us. Our life blood is tourism. one in five people who live here rely on tourists to make their living. The destruction and ultimately, the death of the beach, will only serve to drive people away. As our town competes against low European air fares and almost guaranteed sunshine outside of the United Kingdom, we have to ensure we maximise our potential to attract tourists here, not destroy it. What Conwy County Borough Council have done to kill Llandudno North Shore beach is unforgivable. Those responsible should resign or be sacked. By killing the beach, the council are killing our chances of earning a living, to pay our utility bills, our rent/mortgage and, put food in our family's mouth's. The longer they take to bring life back to our beach, the more public money it will cost. Money, in this tough financial climate, we just haven't got. Let's not forget that nature didn't kill the Llandudno North Shore beach, Conwy County Borough Council did. Its about time the council found the courage to admit they messed up, that they got it wrong. That they are responsible and accountable and, that they will bring the beach back to life, yesterday if not sooner. Its now time Councillors searched their conscience.

Coastal beach walk from Deganwy to llandudno pier and the great orme, Wales UK
A walk along Deganwy beach and llandudno beaches, a walk to the end of llandudno pier then onto the side of the great orme with nice views down to the pier.
Seeing a lot of huge washed up jellyfish , compass and I think a lions mane jellyfish, some underwater footage of them too.
A very enjoyable coastal walk on a hot day.
Thanks for watching!

Visit the nice town of Llandudno in Wales, UK.
Llandudno is Wales's largest resort, uniquely situated between the Great and Little Ormes with two wonderful beaches, the award winning North Shore and the quiet, sand duned West Shore.
Llandudno has kept its Victorian and Edwardian elegance and splendour, despite its modern attractions.
North Wales Coastal Path LLandudno north shore to west shore via Great Orme
It was a rainy and misty for our walk around the Great Orme. The views were limited accordingly, but it did not detract from a great walk with plenty see, hear and smell. The rock formations caves and small coves around the Orme were spectacular, and the very sure-footed, if smelly goats, seemed well suited to the terrain. The constant background 'music' of seabirds added to our enjoyment.
The number of ' In Memory' benches, placed on the promenade at the west shore in Llandudno, are a reminder of just how popular a resort Llandudno is, and its crown as Queen of Welsh Resorts is well deserved. A great walk.

Llandudno is a seaside resort, town and community in Conwy County Borough, Wales, located on the Creuddyn peninsula, which protrudes into the Irish Sea. Llandudno name is derived from its patron saint, Saint Tudno.
Llandudno, Queen of the Welsh Resorts, a title first applied as early as 1864, Llandudno is now the largest seaside resort in Wales. Historically a part of Caernarfonshire, Llandudno was formerly in the district of Aberconwy within Gwynedd.
Llandudno is just off the North Wales Coast railway line which was opened as the Chester and Holyhead Railway in 1848. It became part of the London and North Western Railway in 1859, and part of the London, Midland and Scottish Railway in 1923. Llandudno was specifically built as a mid-Victorian era holiday destination and is served by a branch railway line opened in 1858 from Llandudno Junction with stations at Deganwy and Llandudno.
Llandudno is unique within the United Kingdom in that its lifeboat station is located inland, allowing it to launch with equal facility from either the West Shore or the North Shore as needed. Llandudno's active volunteer crews are called out more than ever with the rapidly increasing numbers of small pleasure craft sailing in coastal waters. The Llandudno Lifeboat is normally on display on the promenade every Sunday and bank holiday Monday from May until October. In 2014 a planning application was submitted for a new Lifeboat station, with a larger boat, to be built close to the paddling pool on North Shore.

THE CHANGING FACE OF THE NEW SLIPWAY AREA ON LLANDUDNO NORTH SHORE
Problems follow problems on Llandudno North Shore. Slowly but surely the quarry rocks that have been dumped onto the beach by Conwy County Borough Council, are migrating onto what sand is left and destroying our once beautiful beach, one of the biggest jewels in the crown of the Queen of the Welsh seaside resorts, Llandudno. There was NO public consultation on the dumping of a further 50,000 tonnes of quarry rock onto the beach. NO planning permission. NO permission from the Environment Agency. The works were NOT advertised to the public. It was only after having dumped the rocks onto the beach, that retrospective permission was sought and granted by the council. It's a disgrace. Councillors have remained silent on the issue. Tourism is the main industry in this area with 1 in 5 people relying on tourism to make a living. This appalling situation on Llandudno North Shore does absolutely nothing to enhance tourism, in fact, it only serves to help destroy it. It is the councils responsibility to maximise the potential to attract visitors to our town, not to diminish it, which is what they have done here. With each tide we lose more and more of our beach. If the rocks are not taken away, this situation will only get worse....much worse. Our elected representatives are letting the public down. They are not doing what we elected them to do. We did not elect them to stay silent on contentious issues such as this. We elected them to stand up and fight our corner. To adhere to the wishes of the public. For they were elected to serve us and, the officers of the council are employed to work for us. The public own the council, its ours. The Leader and Chief Executive are not the bosses, the public are. The arrogance of those that make a very nice living from the public purse, is appalling in the extreme. Councillors use democracy to get elected, then throw it out of the window once their seat is secured. They forget why they are there. What is it they say, oh yes, Power corrupts. Its about time our elected councillors found the backbone and the courage to stand up for the public on the issue of the destruction of Llandudno North Shore. It is their duty to so do. It is the public's right to expect they do that. Silent councillors get invisible votes at elections. It is also the time for the public to stand up and demand action from our councillors. To demand councillors adhere to our wishes. To demand councillors use the power and the voice we gave them to use on our behalf. Its time for councillors to get off their backsides and do something to make good the problems on Llandudno's North Shore. That time is NOW!
