Here comes the second part of the Koblenz Hbf 1996, which also ran under my old channel name Nefersachmet. And we continue on the Koblenz main station. Filmed on 29.8.1996.
A certain part of the locomotives is still in Oceanblau-Beige despite the long active Orientrot. Even a cobalt blue 110 and a chrome oxide green 141 can be seen. The silver and n wagons are still in everyday use here. The rest are already wearing Orient red with bib, the wagons IR blue, RE mint green. However, most ICs still wear the old TEE colours. Yes, the quite new ICE, on the other hand, is light grey, oriental red and pastel violet. By the way, the new traffic red was already in the starting blocks at that time.
All the more one has still joy at the Oceanblau beige machines, which were to be found here nevertheless quite often. Of course there was also an orient red crease ... I must say, for my work at that time rather rare. I had felt only 2 or 3 recorded at that time.
Much more interesting - at least for me, because in the Münsterland this locomotive practically did not occur - was then however the entrance of an IR, covered with the two system locomotive 181 208-0, this however already in Orientrot.
But there was the 111 similarly as in Münster still in Oceanblau-Beige. Like 111 211-9. That compensates.
This contribution still ran under my old channel name Nefersachmet - today known as Udjat Pictures - I hope you enjoy watching these old SD recordings.
Interesting also the encounter of the 110 500-6 already known from Münster with a 103 - both in the old TEE coloring consisting of purple red ivory.
Today the sighting of the first E41 was remarkable. However, 141 001-8 was already repainted in ocean blue beige a long time ago. And no, this machine is in contrast to practically all other shown machines meanwhile not scrapped, it was put back into the delivery condition and is now in the inventory of the railway museum DB Museum Koblenz in Lützel.
What has remained to this day may be the 360 :D

E41 (DB) and BR 114 (DR)
A E41 of the Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB), one of the new einheits electrics, pulls a rake that includes early bi-level coaches. The E41 (BR141) was the lightest of these and was used to pull locals and shorter freights. In 1950, the (DB) had a small batch of bi-level coaches built. The first were 22.5 meters long. A second batch that was made in 1951 were 26.4 meters long, the new UIC (International Union of Railways) standard coach length. Bi-level coaches were not something that was new in Germany with the first having been developed by the Lübeck-Büchener Eisenbahn (LBE) in the 1920s. These were used with tank engines outfitted for push-pull operation.
These new coaches were used to test the new high-speed Minden-Deutz bogies and rubber car end seals, with the second also being used to test new openable window constructions.
While bi-level coaches never took off with the DB, the DR in East Germany embraced them at about the same time, something which may have contributed to the non-adoption of the design in the West. Before and with reunification of the German railways in 1989, the DB began to purchase large numbers of modern bi-level coaches from the East, using them in local and regional service.
The BR 114 of the Deutsche Reichesbahn pulls an articulated 4-car bi-level gliederzug. These were designated DB13 and built starting in 1952 by the VEB Waggonbau Görlitz based on pre-war designs of the LBE. The axle configurationwas 2 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 2, total length 73 400 mm, whereby 2 cars shared a 3-axle bogie. A two-car configuration, DB7, was also used particularly on branch lines. In the 70s some were reconfigured to run in push-pull operation with the addition of control cabs. As the model represents early era 3 before the 2nd and 3rd classes were combined (klassenreform). While the BR 114 diesel in the pictures above post-dates the markings on the coaches, it needs to be understood that this is a museum consist owned by the VEB Waggonbau Görlitz and occasionally gets used in regular service. ;-)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Before and after the sighting of the Stromliniendampflok 01 1102 we got some treasures before the lens.
On the open track 111s could be spotted with the new Regional Express trains. At that time they were kept in mint green grey and did not yet have control cars. The first 111 passing us has a type SBS 65 single-arm pantograph and for comparison a 111 right behind it - quite rare with a type DBS 54a scissor pantograph.
At platform 11 of the main station in Hamm we saw again the famous 141 248-5 with the test painting (Karlsruher Zug). In Münster we had already seen it once, but it was not in use. Here now in the regular planning service the frog bangs into the rainy afternoon. This machine has been painted in the uniform DB colour traffic red since the beginning of the 2000s and then z-laid from 2003. Today it is owned by the DB Museum.
Old green 141s belonged at that time already to a special sight - therefore also here large joy with the sighting and departure of 141 175-0.
The second delicacy of the day roared past us on a free track. VT 18.16.07 respectively .10 Görlitzer of the former GDR Reichsbahn. Also a feast for the eyes, the east version of the TEE of which once there were 8 railcars. At the time of recording in 1996, this was already the last still operational set, which was recently restored. Apropos TEE: It wasn't long in coming and was also discovered in the Hamm repair shop - here's a separate article.
Actually we already wanted to go down the stairs when we spotted an oceanblau-beige 140 in the towing service in front of a defective old red ex-DR 143. These pictures were taken on 9 March and 11 May 1996 with my Sony CCR TR303E.
Footage of the Eifelquerbahn around Mayen/Germany captured 17.-19.10.1988. At that time the class 212 diesel still the brunt of traffic. The local trains were formed from old 'Umbauwagen'-coaches. At noon a class 211 came with a passenger Train from Gerolstein to Mayen. In freight transport as well were seen class 212. Footage of the legendary time of Deutsche Bundesbahn.
