Pasadena residents can take care of forms and permits as well as inquire about city services and payments. Photography of the building is popular. Many photographers and couples inquire about getting permits for photographing their wedding photos at the Pasadena City Hall as well as other places around the city of Pasadena that are rustic and old like places with brick backgrounds and old stone. The grounds has a courtyard in the middle with a picturesque fountain that's also great to photograph as well as flowers in the garden. Even the stairwells and hallways are fun to take pictures of.
Pasadena City Hall wedding photography info ( ): Permits are no longer required to take wedding party photos on premises. Check out the city link for more information.
When visiting city hall, check out the Jackie and Mack memorial statue across the street. They are located on the grass patch facing the building. There is a little informational where you can learn about the public art works. Another thing to consider when visiting Pasadena is parking. At the Pasadena city hall and surrounding areas, parking is normally an hour and now taken care of via pay stations located around the area. Make sure to place your parking ticket stub on the Driver's side dashboard and note the time. The parking enforcement in Pasadena is pro-active and always patrolling as seen in the video.

Livingston Parish Convention and Visitors Bureau - 2015
A visit with Jonathan JT Taylor of the Livingston Parish Convention and Visitors Bureau, as he tells us about everything that's going on in Livingston Parish.
Schoenstein & Company, 1979
As reported by Jerry Jensen in this video from June 2, 1979, Schoenstein & Co. is the oldest and largest organ factory in the Western United States. The Schoenstein family has been building distinguished instruments for five generations. The firm started in the Black Forest of Germany in the mid-19th century with branches in Odessa, St. Petersburg, Berlin, and Stuttgart among others.
In 1868, Felix F. Schoenstein came to San Francisco representing his father and brothers. By 1877 he established his independent firm—the most consistently steadfast and successful company in the history of organ building on the Pacific coast. The popularity of American-Romantic tonal style and a reputation for integrity have widened Schoensteins horizons to the entire nation and Canada.
Due both to Schoensteins then-remote location and to its founder's inventiveness and curiosity, a policy of continuing study and training by constant exposure to the past and current work of other organ builders became a tradition.
First, each son of each generation has been sent to train with other firms. For example, Felix's son, Louis, worked for E.M. Skinner. Louis' son, Lawrence, and later his grandson Terrence, joined Æolian-Skinner. Second, Schoensteins service department, now the largest in the West, has brought them experience installing, tuning and repairing nearly every make of organ in America. Third, beginning after the San Francisco Earthquake and Fire of 1906, the builder has accomplished a monumental number of organ renovations. Schoensteins historic factory and archive is on the National Register of Historic Places and is San Francisco Landmark No. 99. It is one of the few purpose-built, unaltered pipe organ factories in the world. Today it houses the builders pipe and voicing facilities as well as records and artifacts of their first century of organ building and one of the largest archives of pipe organ books, periodicals and historical records in the West.
Schoensteins corporate office and main plant is a modern, state-of-the-art 30,000 square foot building in historic Benicia, 35 miles north east of San Francisco. Known as a gateway to the Napa Valley wine country, Benicia was a 19th century California capital and provides a pleasant atmosphere for the companys staff and visitors. They are especially proud of their equipment and plant layout, which promote the most accurate and efficient methods for the craft. They have assembled an array of wood and metal working machinery representing the very best names in the industry—Oliver, Whitney, Northfield, Buss, Mattison, Moak, Tannewitz, Root, Besly, Monarch and Bridgeport—among others. Schoensteins 42-foot tall erecting room with bridge crane is large enough to accommodate any size project with ease.

Museum of the Big Bend | Exhibit Hall Walkthrough
Museumscapes completed this three-year, 5000 sq. ft. museum project in 2007 to interpret the cultural, historic, and natural resources found in far West Texas and northern Mexico. The Museum collaborated with Museumscapes to renovate a 1937 native rock building on the campus of Sul Ross State University as a state-of-the art exhibit space.
Museumscapes used a layered approach to storytelling, establishing touchstones such as places, events, and people to communicate the rich and rugged history of the Big Bend Region. The resulting museum experience incorporates visual, audible, tangible, and narrative elements that carry the visitor from prehistory to contemporary culture. Museumscapes distinguished this exhibit with monumental photographic murals, detailed rock work, interactive touch screens, interpretive graphic panels, and innovative artifact presentation.
Museumscapes provided: Creative Development, Interpretive Research, Planning & Writing, AutoCAD Design, Artifact Display Design, Graphic Design & Illustration, Interactive Content Production, Architectural Adaptation, Immersive Environments, Audio-Visual Production, Lighting & Special Effects Design, Fabrication & Installation

Adult fans think outside the box with innovative Lego creations
(8 Jan 2018) LEADIN:
From Star Wars scenes to entire miniature mountain villages, 'Adult Fans of Lego' is pushing the boundaries of what you can create using the colourful plastic bricks.
The Bricks LA convention is showcasing a range of impressive works, hoping to inspire others to get creative with the classic children's toy.
STORYLINE:
The Bricks LA Lego convention shows just what you can do when you think outside the box.
This 'Vampyre Castle' has its own moving windmill, while this model high street is bustling with robots and superheroes.
There's even a Jules Verne-inspired flying machine to inspire visitors to have a go at creating their own masterpiece out of tiny plastic bricks.
The fourth annual convention for adult fans is a four-day celebration of all things Lego at the Pasadena Convention Center in California.
Adult builders from across the US, referred to as VIB's, or Very Important Builders, show off skills that take Lego to a whole new level.
Show coordinator Ayleen Dority says the event aims to show what's possible if you let your artistic imagination run wild.
Bricks LA is a place for adult builders to come together and show off their creations and help inspire builders of all ages, aspiring builders of all ages, kids, adults, to show them what's possible outside of just a Lego box and to use their LEGO as a medium and to help them explore what they can create art wise with this really fun kids' toy which is also an elevated art medium, she says.
Lego conventions are not organised by the toy company itself but rather are independent gatherings where enthusiasts can share their creations.
Lego puts more and more pieces and sets on the market each year, as the company licenses new movies and creates new miniature accessories.
So for these builders, every new Lego set offers the possibility of something new to create with, inspiring replicas of movie scenes from Harry Potter and Star Wars, or whole villages with working transport links.
The convention gives aspiring builders the chance to learn from the pros, and pick up new pieces, figures and even vintage sets.
There's a Lego building relay competition, where six teams of four builders race to create the same Star Wars model, running back and forth from a central table to read the instructions.
Lego builder Brandon Griffith was a consultant for The Lego Movie and helped design the set.
He says his passion for Lego drives him to treat building as an art form.
The Adult Fan of LEGO community is a vast community that expands worldwide with over a hundred thousand individuals including bloggers, podcasters, video podcasters and we all build. We all build and rebuild. We like to, what brings us together is our passion of Lego which allows us to basically take an art medium, build something, destroy it, rebuild it again. And transform it into something new, he says.
Among the most impressive models is a 16 foot (4.8 metre) Canadian Winter Village that arrived in 30 boxes from Seattle.
Creator Dave Schefcik describes himself as a crisis communications manager by day and a Lego artist by night.
The Canadian Winter Village has 250-thousand pieces, about 500 mini figures, 750 trees. I actually never see it all together in my very small apartment because it's so big and so I build it like a puzzle piece so each section fits together, and that way it travels a lot better as well. I work in crisis communications and so at the end of a very stressful day it's nice to be able to come home and just relax building a little winter village, he says.
Meanwhile, the State Fair creation is a massive display of 50-thousand pieces. Work began on it in June 2016 and it was transported in more than 20 custom made wooden crates.

TOEFL & Portfolio info for RISD, SVA, ACCD, SFAI, SAIC, Parsons, Pratt, CalArts //
(RISD, SVA, ACCD, SFAI, SAIC, Parsons, CalArts)

* CALARTS (California Institute of the Arts)
* ACCD (Art Center College of Design)
* SAIC (School of the Art Institute of Chicago)
* SVA (School of VISUAL ARTS)
* PARSONS
* RISD (Rhode Island School of Design)
파슨스 (PARSONS)와 리즈디 (RISD: Rhode Island School of Design)가 여기에 해당됩니다.

ANCA's Dimejian: After Years of Appeasing Ankara, it's Time for a New Approach
ANCA National Board Member Aida Dimejian joined over 30 U.S. Senators and Representatives and top faith-based and human rights leaders in calling for concrete U.S. steps to safeguard Christian communities in the Middle East and ending U.S. complicity in Turkey’s Armenian Genocide denial.
“I stand before you as a grandchild of genocide survivors. I stand before you as someone who was born in the Middle East – Beirut, Lebanon. And I stand before you as the daughter-in-law of a Christian Armenian family who fled their home from Aleppo, Syria fearing torture and persecution because of our faith,” Dimejian told participants of the In Defense of Christians (IDC) Advocacy Convention, gathered at the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center Auditorium on the September 8th.
“The mass persecution and extermination of Christians, Yazidis, and other minorities in the Middle East today is a religiously and ethnically motivated genocide.”
Noting that the Armenian nation has been battling genocide and its denial for over a century, Dimejian outlined why it is essential for Congress to adopt the Armenian Genocide Truth and Justice Resolution (H.Res.154) - spearheaded by Representatives Robert Dold (R-IL), Adam Schiff (D-CA), David Valadao (R-CA), and Frank Pallone (D-NJ), explaining that its passage would help:
-- Make the world safer from future atrocities, by breaking the dangerous precedent set by Turkey of a known case of genocide committed, consolidated, and denied with impunity.
-- Make Turkey more tolerant, by openly and honestly addressing the modern-day consequences of its past crimes - much as America has sought to atone for slavery and Germany has attempted to reckon with its responsibility for the Armenian Genocide.
-- Secure a sustainable improvement of Armenian-Turkish relations - a long term U.S. regional interest - based upon a foundation of truth and justice.
-- Strengthen America's international standing, by ending a shameful era of U.S. complicity in Turkey's denial of the Armenian Genocide.
“Consistent with our core American belief in freedom of expression, America should reject any attempts by Ankara to impose a gag-rule on honest discourse about the Armenian Genocide,” continued Dimejian. “In pursuit of our national interest in improving ties between Armenians and Turks, respectful relations between Yerevan and Ankara, and a more tolerant and pluralist Turkey, U.S. diplomacy should press for an end to Turkey's denial of the Armenian Genocide.”
Scientists Reflect On Past, Future Mars Missions
(8 Jun 2018) Fifteen years ago, NASA launched the first of two Mars Exploration Rovers from Cape Canaveral, Fla. Spirit launched on 10 June 2003, three weeks before its twin, Opportunity.
The spacecraft landed on the Martian surface in 2004, to the applause of mission managers and others at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.
When we landed, we had a 90-day mission. At least that's what we thought at the time. And so, we were focused on getting this done in three months and that we wouldn't go very far from the landing site, said John Callas, the Mars Exploration Rovers project manager. We are now 14 years since they've landed. Opportunity is still going — it's gone 45 kilometers on the surface of Mars and we've greatly expanded what we've explored on Mars with these rovers. So, in that sense it, you know, there was no expectation of that when we landed.
As scientists reflect on the success of the Spirit and Opportunity missions, NASA has turned its attention to 2020, when it plans to launch Mars 2020, its next Martian rover.
You know, you think about Spirit and Opportunity, we sent two because we wanted one to succeed, right? And if you think of it that way, and then you look back from today and you say, 'Opportunity is still alive, and Spirit far exceeded the mission expectations,' said Jennifer Trosper, the Mars 2020 mission systems manager who also worked on the Spirit and Opportunity missions. I mean, what happened as a result of that was fantastic and it really springboard to the Mars program to where we are today on Mars 2020.
