Train Viewing Platform Plant City Florida Final Progress Report
This is my final progress report on the train viewing platform in Plant City Florida.
The platform will open to the public 24 hours a day 7 days a week starting December 14, 2013 at 4:00 PM. Watch how much this platform progressed and watch from the second floor of the viewing tower Amtrak train the Silver Star number 92 from above.
The elevator and benches will be added soon. But come out and enjoy a new view of trains much closer than any other train viewing platform in the United States.
Harmar Wheelchair Lift - Plant City Train Viewing Platform - Plant City, FL
[Taken on 6-26-15] After getting the Amtrak Silver Star #92 going North through Plant City, I wanted to show you guys the elevator that was built at this cool train viewing platform. Across the tracks as you will see is the railroad museum. Not a whole lot of trains run through here, but it is still a cool sight to see Amtrak go over the double diamond. I had no idea on my sense of direction track wise.. lol

The CSX Plant City Sub also crosses the diamond along the S-Line. The Plant City sub runs south to Fort Myers & Naples. The flashing red light you see in the distance to the right on the PTZ cam is from a cell phone tower behind the railroad signal, and not a part of the railroad signal.

2014 01 17 Amtrak 91 Silver Star Southbound To Tampa @ Viewing Platform Plant City,FL
After leaving the Orlando Amtrak station on my way back to Tampa, I just knew that my timing was right for catching the Silver Star as it crossed the double diamond at the new train viewing platform in downtown Plant City, Florida. I pulled up and parked and it came by within 10 minutes, perfect for a nice chilly Florida style winter day.

Views from Plant City, Florida
Interstate highway four runs through the battleground state of Florida.
And once every four years campaigners start referring to it as the highway to political heaven.
That's because it links an array of diverse communities that are vital to both candidates.
Al Jazeera's Andy Gallacher is travelling the length of the I-4 as part of our election coverage.
He pulled into Plant City to find out why it's such a campaign hotspot.
09 - CSX Local at Plant City, FL in 1993
Here is some early 1993 footage at Plant City Interlocking of the local heading south. This was the last stop on our trip. At the old Plant City Depot, I was able to plug in the charger for the camcorder's battery and attain a small charge to capture this footage. It barely made it!!!! Travis and I headed home from here. My how times have changed! No railfan viewing platform just yet! Recorded in 1993!
Trains Throughout Central Florida!
On my vacation to Disney, I managed to snag a few trains here and there. We start on 11/10/16 in the famous Plant City, where we catch empty Tropicana Juice Train Q741 on the S Line, and a local that I believe was going by the symbol Y104, headed towards Yeoman Yard on the A Line. Then the next day, we spend 15 minutes at Sand Lake Road Sunrail Station in southern Orlando. Here, we see a 3 hour late northbound Amtrak Silver Meteor with a friendly crew and a Dash 8 in second, and a southbound Sunrail. Thanks for watching and enjoy!
