KINGS OF THE CAROLINAS | Beer Mail | Revelry Brewing + Westbrook Brewing Company
Huge shouts to one of our mates down in South Carolina, Garth Urquhart, for making this Beer Mail happen. Garth kindly shipped out two of his fave beers from his home state to us while we were in Detroit last summer, so we've been saving these two big brews for a special occasion. Tiffany helped Cee crush Revelry's Flanders Red and Westbrook's spiced Mexican stout. Get 'em in ya!

Charleston SC Things To Do That Are Actually Cool
This video is a quick flick featuring some of the top things to do in Charleston SC in 2020.
Whether you're visiting downtown Charleston, Folly Beach SC, Isle of Palms, Sullivans Island SC, or Shem Creek, you will definitely want to do one of the fun Charleston activities in this video- especially if you are a bachelor or bachelorette party!
Check out my website BakerManning.com for all of my best Charleston SC Travel guides and content.
Even if you decide to stay at one of the beaches for your Charleston SC bachelorette party, at some point you need to check out downtown Charleston! Everything in the historic district is within walking distance, so depending on your #squadgoals - your bride tribe can pick a few interesting spots and roll, stroll, post, toast, do some sightseeing or just stick to day drinking...
Roll or Stroll To Charleston’s Top Attractions
Millions of tourists flock to Charleston every year to admire its old architecture and learn about it’s history. Not you guys, you’re here to party… and maybe pass some cool looking buildings as you walk from bar to bar. However, If you want to have the full Charleston experience, I do recommend a leisurely stroll- or better yet a breezy “roll” to some of Charleston top attractions.
Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge
King Street, the Market
Waterfront or Riverfront Park Charleston SC
Rainbow Row
The Charleston Battery Park
Charleston Aquarium
Go on a Scavenger Hunt
Charleston SC Walking Tours
You’re coming to town for a bachelorette party, so obviously you should look into the more PG-13 rated walking tours… The tours listed below will take you down intriguing routes, and you’ll learn about the darker side of Charleston’s scandalous past.
Walk and Talk Charleston - highly recommended!
Charleston Haunted Tours
Charleston Pirate Tours
Charleston Culinary Tours
Bike Rentals Charleston SC
In my opinion, biking is the best way to get around downtown Charleston in the day time, you can cover so much more ground on a bike! Also, it’s hawt’’ as hell in the summer time, (not in a good way) so that’s why I prefer biking to walking- you can beat the sweltering heat, or at least minimize the amount of time you subject yourself to it… So take yourselves on a bicycle tour of downtown Charleston, or cruise around at the beach. Stay tuned for recommended bike routes that I will publish soon!

GO HYDROBOARDING WITH CHARLESTON HYDROFLY
This is one of my top choices for things to do for a Charleston, SC bachelorette party! It’s a great way to spend the day. Hydrofly Watersports is located on the Ashley River/Brittlebank Park- which is right downtown, so it’s super easy to get to if you’re staying there. There’s a little floating Tiki Hut with lots of floats and water toys so you and your friends can kick it while you take turns getting your lesson and flying around. It’s a blast!

Craft Beer Law Reshapes Breweries in South Carolina
Breweries in South Carolina saw a big win this year when Governor Haley signed the Stone Law.
The Stone Law allows breweries and brewpubs to now sell food on the premise and broadens distribution for local beers. If the establishments serve food, there is now no limit on the amount of beer that can be poured or sold to customers. It also allotted for other brands of beer and wine to be sold at the breweries.

A little more information on our guide to Charleston, SC....
The cover photo is in front of Black Tap, a great place to grab locally roasted craft coffee.
The mural featured in the intro is by local legend Shepard Fairey and can be found right across from The Daily, one of our favorite breakfast spots.
We started our day at some of the city's most iconic spots...
the pineapple fountain at Waterfront Park, Battery Park, and Rainbow Row.
We then had brunch at Millers All Day, a new spot that has fresh local fair and fun cocktails. Everything we've tried thus far has been delicious.
The best shopping can be had right next to Millers on Lower King Street. We popped into the Preservation Society which features products made in Charleston. The Historic City Market was our next stop. It is also full of local crafts, most notably sweetgrass baskets. The Market is where you can find the carriage tours ($26), bike taxis ($5 for 10mins), and bike shares ($12 for a day).
Featured next is the Ansonborough neighborhood where you'll find Canes Rhum Bar. It has the best Happy Hour...$10 for a drink and a small plate. Near by is Liberty Square, where you'll find the South Carolina Aquarium ($30) and Fort Sumter National Monument ($22).
We then head to East Central/North Morrison Drive past Mercantile and Mash (coffee, lunch, grab and go) and Revelry Brewing to a new hot spot for tech companies as well as restaurants such as Edmound Oast ($4 Happy Hour), Butcher and Bee (veggie-centric, middle eastern twist on local produce) and Goat, Sheep, Cow (obviously, cheese).
Also on the Upper Peninsula (did we mention Charleston is a peninsula) is Rodney Scott's, some of the best and most affordable local BBQ (a sandwich with one side is $9). A 5 minute bike ride away is Hampton Park, the city's largest and arguably most picturesque green space. Before leaving this area, we feature Pancito and Lefty's our go-to for tacos and mescal tastings.
Then we jump to Elliotsborough, where you can find NotSo Hostel (dorm $28, private $68). As mentioned it's a short walk from Eclectic Cafe and Vinyl (a coffee and record shop with live music), Sugar Bakeshop, Xiao Bao Biscuit (a funky mix of foods from east and south Asia), Mini Bar, Fuel, D'Als Pizza, and Warehouse.
We end the guide on Upper King which has too many bars and restaurants to name! One of the most notable is Callie's Hot Little Biscuit which serves some of the best southern biscuits from 10pm to 2am on the weekend.
We hope you enjoy Charleston as much as we do!
