Plans hazy for 4/20 celebrations in Denver
Wednesday is 4/20 - an unofficial holiday for marijuana users.
The big rally in Denver was supposed to be this past weekend at Denver's Civic Center Park but snow canceled the party.
In previous years, thousands of people have gathered in Civic Center Park on April 20, but this year the plans are a little hazy.
There are no official rallies planned but Denver Police do have some barricades set up around the park.
If you are planning to celebrate, keep in mind all of the laws banning the use of marijuana

Colorado Experience: The Stanley Hotel
Widely known as serving inspiration for Stephen King’s 1977 novel, The Shining, The Stanley Hotel’s legacy goes beyond a history of paranormal activity. When Freelan Oscar Stanley arrived in Estes Park in 1903, he was not looking for a Hotel location, but instead the climate cure for his bout with Tuberculosis. After recovering, Stanley – of Stanley Steamer fame among others—decided to open a Hotel with every luxury catered to his circle of New England elite. Travel the haunted halls and discover the architectural glory of the infamous hotel that influenced National Parks and sparked early tourism.

The Source in Denver
Once you figure out how to navigate the parking and construction it's worth the trip to The Source a trendy social gathering spot at 3350 Brighton Blvd in RiNo (originally River North) where you can get amazing coffee, tacos, artisan cheese, wine, cocktails, baked goods, meat, art, and so on. It's a converted warehouse with exposed brick and cool metal edges. There's a ton of construction all along Brighton Blvd, and there will be for quite a while, so you might as well learn to live with it for now. You can park with the valet in front of The Source or in the parking garage that's just to the west of the building - you have to go in through the temporary access and drive back toward the (free) parking garage. It's definitely a hassle but once you get there it's fun. Visit the RiNo Made Pop Up Shop before December 30th to get holiday gifts.

Places to see in ( Denver - USA )
Denver, the capital of Colorado, is an American metropolis dating to the Old West era. Larimer Square, the city’s oldest block, features landmark 19th-century buildings. Museums include the Denver Art Museum, an ultramodern complex known for its collection of indigenous works, and the mansion of famed Titanic survivor Molly Brown. Denver is also a jumping-off point for ski resorts in the nearby Rocky Mountains.
Denver is a vibrant city with plenty of attractions for visitors, plus a diverse collection of neighborhoods that can be attractions in themselves. Many of Denver's older areas are the perfect density for exploration; you'll find an interesting mix of apartments and homes with flowery front gardens, wide flagstone sidewalks, bright green lawns and big, shady trees. Capitol Hill, Highlands, Baker, Berkeley, Uptown, Sloan's Lake, Cheesman, Washington, City and Congress Parks are just some of the neighborhoods bustling with people and places to see.
Denver has many beautiful parks that are full of colorful gardens, meandering paths, crystal clear lakes, abundant wildlife and recreation opportunities. The city has a rich pioneer history, and there are plenty of museums where you can learn all about it. It's also a very environmentally conscious city, with one of the nation’s first municipal “Green Fleets”, public transit vehicles using hybrid and alternative fuel and a city tree-planting initiative. Hop on a green bus, grab a bike or just walk around to discover Denver.
Thanks to a re-urbanization of the city's central core, Denver now has name-worthy neighborhoods with flavors that are all their own – River North (RiNo) for hipster bars and eye-catching street art, Lower Highlands (LoHi) and South Broadway for great eateries and live music, Cherry Creek for glam, Lower Downtown (LoDo) for upscale restaurants and cocktail lounges as well as the Golden Triangle and Santa Fe for arts, theater and museums. In all, there's a neighborhood and a vibe for just about anybody.

Candy Shop Bear, Estes Park, CO.mov
Lines blur as natural boundaries between black bear habitat and urban/suburban human residential areas merge. Black bear populations have grown across much of North America. Hungry bruins follow their noses--straight to towns and cities, where the living is easy for these smart, efficient foragers. Access to quickly replenished food sources--backyard bird feeders, dumpsters, and street trash--often means habituated bears, with human-wildlife conflicts repeating themselves in many states and Canada. Please don't feed the bears, is the common refrain from experts and wildlife lovers featured in our upcoming documentary Who's Afraid of the Cape Cod Bear?
