Best way to Experience the Sahara Desert | Camping in Merzouga, Morocco
The final Morocco vlog is here! Camping in the Sahara Desert at a spot called Merzouga.
Here we rode camels to our remote campsite, spent the night eating Moroccan food and listening to music played by the locals.
In the morning we made our way back to our new campsite by camel ride before jumping into some Jeeps to go on Safari.
To end it all a big long 13 hour bus ride to Marrakesh so we can finally show you what staying in a Riad is like.
Next stop: Flying home to surprise Jess's brother for Christmas!

I decided to join a group tour to get to the desert. It was arranged by my Riad in Marrakesh and it was amazing! We went to a local village the Todgha Gorge and Sahara Desert! Watch till the end to see the sunset and star time lapse! I have never seen so many stars in my life!! ????????????

Sahara Desert of Marrakesh - Meeting the Berber People of Morocco
Just outside of Marrakech, Morocco, are the Atlas mountains and the indigenous people that live there known as the Berbers. On today's travel, the locals gave us a raw and real look into their daily lives. After we went on a Sahara style adventure without going on the 9 hour drive from Marrakech to the Sahara desert with LG gram, a fantastic, portable travel laptop. Scarabeo camp just outside of Marrakesh gave us the next best thing with camel rides, luxury tents, and incredible star gazing. Our travel photography workshop in Morocco was a great success if I do say so myself. We had an absolutely brilliant time in the country, and I think the participants got a lot out of the photo adventure. Morocco is just such a diverse country with so much to offer. We were on the coast, in ancient cities, in snowy mountains, and the Sahara Desert. I shot a ton of photography in the 2 weeks, and I'm sure the participants got some beautiful images as well. We had a fantastic group of photographers in Morocco, and I'm happy to say that I feel like our little community of travel photographers is growing a little bit more each day.

Merzouga is a small village in southeastern Morocco, about 35 kilometres southeast of Rissani, about 55 kilometers from Erfoud.
The village is known for its proximity to Erg Chebbi, a Saharan erg, and it is for this reason a part of the itineraries of many tourists visiting Morocco. Merzouga has the largest natural underground body of water in Morocco.
few years ago, Merzouga experienced devastating flash floods, displacing 1,200 and resulting in some deaths.
Near the dunes of Erg Chebbi there are some other less known villages: Hassilabied 4 km away, Tanamoust 3 km away, Takoujt 1.5 km away, Khamlia 7 km away and Tisserdmine 15 km away.

Erg Chebbi ist eine von zwei marokkanischen Sahara-Erg - großen Meere der Dünen von verwehten Sand. Die andere ist in der Nähe von Erg Chigaga M'hamid.
