About Us!
If you had told me a year ago that we were going to sell all of our stuff to start backpacking the world, I would have called you a liar. Decisions like the one we made start with an inflection point. A point where you realize that life can never be the same anymore. After a challenging, and painful year in 2017, we decided we needed to go out and live the life we wanted to live, instead of watching it on someone else’s YouTube Channel. We had given everything we had, physically and emotionally, for other’s dreams and were ready to work that hard for ourselves. From rock bottom, Chase for Adventure was born.
The Chase Begins
We moved in with our parents, sold everything we own including our cars, and paid off $70,000 worth of debt. We worked 70hrs/week over the last year trying to save up $15,000 to make our dreams come true. Now, we are travel journalists who showcase the beauty in different cultures and inspire others to chase their dreams through our YouTube Channel and website Chase for Adventure. We want to show others that if they want something bad enough, they’ll figure out how to get it; show people who are struggling that they can make the light at the end of their tunnel. Chase for Adventure is more than just a travel vlog and blog; it’s the chronicles of what it’s like to have a dream and do whatever it takes to attain it.

Here is our heartbreaking Sapa first impressions. Literally just walking though Sapa, Vietnam we were able to see incredible mountains, taste some delicious Vietnamese food like bun cha and pho bo, and go shopping in a Sapa market. Doing our own little Sapa tour was breathtaking and the best things to do in Sapa are quite easy to find. However, knowing what to do in Sapa, Vietnam was all overshadowed by this...

Sapa Vietnam
Sapa is situated in a beautiful valley of Vietnam's mountainous north close to the Chinese border. Sapa is surrounded by ethnic tribe villages. I take a trek with Mimi a Black Hmong lady to her village about 14 km from Sapa. I walked slowly taking in the spectacular views on the way. When we arrived at Mimi's home her children were home from school so I declined her invitation to go in as I didn't want to intrude on the family. Mimi showed me around her village instead and told me the story of her arranged marriage.. Then Mimi got me a motor bike taxi to take me back to Sapa. A fantastic day.

Best Hmong Homestay in Sapa, Vietnam! (Zizi's Homestay)
This is part 2 of our Sapa trip.
I have to say this is one of the best homestays that we've been to so far. If you really want to experience local authentic food and culture then this is probably your best bet. Enjoy this video! I tried my best to put subtitles. It was pretty complicated because of their dialect.

ASIA TRIP VLOG 8 | Vietnam - Hanoi & Sapa (3-Day Trek)
Hanoi & Sapa, Vietnam
28 September - 1 October, 2017
With under 24 hours in Hanoi, we did our best to explore the Old Quarter. Then it was on to Sapa, for a 3-day trek through the mountains, guided by a lovely local named Lou.
Day 1- Covered 16km and we stayed at a quaint homestay on the mountain-side.
Day 2 -Continued on a further 18km trek through multiple villages and arrived at the lowest point we would travel.
Day 3 -We explored the local village, went for a swim, and after lunch, got a bus back up to Sapa city.
The 3-day hike - including tour guide, 2 nights accommo and return sleeper bus from Hanoi - cost approx. $75AUD each and can be booked at most hotels/booking offices in Hanoi for similar prices.

Cat Cat Village Hiking Tour visiting Black Hmong Tribe nearby Sapa, Vietnam Travel Video
In our latest travel video we embark on a short hike from our base in Sapa to visit Cat Cat Village (Black Hmong Tribe) early in the morning. With so many different hiking options to choose from it was difficult narrowing it down to just one specific route. Sapa is the perfect launching pad for trekking in the region to nearby minority ethnic villages. Hikes cater for all skill levels, as some villages are just several kilometers away whereas others involve multiple day routes. We started our journey with nothing more than a rough idea of where we were going, as pointed out by the manager working at our hotel.

Once we got away from the town we really started to enjoy the hike. Along the way we were treated to spectacular views of mountain vistas, cascading rice terraces, and wooden homes.
Not long after we started our journey, we were greeted by three ladies who asked us a plethora of different questions before trying to sell us some homemade crafts. They were polite and kind at first; however, I knew things were about to change as we approached close to the village.
The pressure to purchase something started to mount as the ladies revved up their negotiating tactics. Although I had no intentions to buy anything, Audrey was still searching for a few small gifts to send back home.
Although we ended up buying something, it was a little off-putting how aggressive they were. Buying from one lady wasn't enough; they wanted us to shop from the entire trio. Audrey eventually ended up buying one more item from a lady who started playing free music for no longer than 10 seconds.
Feeling relieved that they finally went away, we continued on with our hike.
Once we reached the village we spend time exploring around some of the traditional homes and pathways that were lined by simple shops selling everything from trinkets to cowboy hats.
I ended up purchasing that cowboy hat :P As many of you may - or may not - know I'm a man of many hats; especially, those that are unique or what some might describe as being cheesy.
Exploring these frontier parts of Northern Vietnam had me feeling a bit like a cowboy, so I suppose it was a rather fitting acquisition to put on top of my head.
Feeling tired from the excursion we headed back up the steep serpentine roads that lead to our hotel in Sapa. Unfortunately, things would go downhill for me after this trek, as I started feeling sick to my stomach:

TREKKING IN SAPA VIETNAM | Hiking to Lao Chai village
Today we are in the small mountainous town of Sapa, Vietnam.
A big draw to Sapa is its hiking trails which is a popular tourist attraction. Not being big trekkers, we decided to test our physical abilities when we took on a 1 day trek (12km) to Lao Chai Village.
We took the difficult route to Chai Village through mud and fell a number of times! We were almost run down by a herd of frightened buffalo, ate lunch in the remote village of Lao Chi and enjoyed an amazing trek with only our guide and the nature around us which is beautiful Sapa, Vietnam.

???????? Ethnic tribes of Sapa (Vietnam): travel documentary
#sapa #vietnam #documentary
The mountains of North Vietnam host an incredible variety of ethnic minorities. Armed with curiosity, I ventured on a 4-day trek in these valleys.
The history of the H'mong people is difficult to trace. It is believed they lived in Southern China for over 2,000 years. Beginning of 18th century, conflict with han Chinese settlers
caused H'mong migration south, in Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. The Black H'mong represent the majority of the population in the valleys near Sa Pa. H'mong girls create sophisticated embroideries for their clothes and they can be seen sewing in the valleys.
The second largest group in Sa Pa are the Red Dao. They also arrived in North Vietnam from China about 300 years ago. Their culture is considered one of the most colourful and unique. Red Dao people maintain traditional spiritual practices that include shamanism and
ancestor veneration. Le Cap Sac is a maturity ritual for a Dao manto become a descendant of Bang Vuong - the forefather of the Dao. During my travel, I had the opportunity to watch this ritual
