Central Cemetery Vienna (Austria) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Central Cemetery Vienna in Austria.
Vienna’s Central Cemetery is an evolving sanctuary of both peace and faith that was established during the reign of Emperor Franz Josef The First. A special committee was made responsible for this project, and where it would be sited, and several municipalities that were not part of Vienna at the time, were considered, geologically, by size, and distance to the city. Finally, Kaiserbersdorf prevailed and on 22nd December, 1869, the committee approved the purchase. The tombs of Beethoven and Schubert are to be found in the cemetery along with those of Johann Strauss, king of the waltz, surrounded by angels with violins. Brahms ponders, with beard and solemn expression while Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart makes a nominal appearance as he is buried at the Saint Marx Cemetery. From the main gate a wide avenue leads to the mighty Memorial Church that is dedicated to Saint Borromaus. On May 11th, 1908, the foundation-stone ceremony for the construction of the church took place. Its architecture and interior is similar to that of Vienna’s Steinhof Church. The historical architecture of the building, also known as the Karl Lueger Memorial Church after the former mayor of Vienna, is one of the most important art nouveau buildings in Vienna. Vienna’s Central Cemetery is the final resting place for those of all religions, situated in a beautiful park with impressive flora and fauna: the splendid Necropolis of the Viennese!

Franz Schubert Sand Sculpture Crail East Neuk Of Fife Scotland
Tour Scotland video of the Franz Schubert sand sculpture outside the Honeypot Tearoom on visit to the Festival in Crail, East Neuk Of Fife. Franz Peter Schubert, born 31 January 1797, died 19 November 1828, was an Austrian composer. Schubert died before his 32nd birthday, but was extremely prolific during his lifetime. His output consists of over six hundred secular vocal works (mainly Lieder), seven complete symphonies, sacred music, operas, incidental music and a large body of chamber and piano music. Appreciation of his music while he was alive was limited to a relatively small circle of admirers in Vienna, but interest in his work increased significantly in the decades following his death. Felix Mendelssohn, Robert Schumann, Franz Liszt, Johannes Brahms and other 19th-century composers discovered and championed his works. Today, Schubert is ranked among the greatest composers of the late Classical and early Romantic eras and is one of the most frequently performed composers of the early nineteenth century.

Das Johann, Cafe and Restaurant, Vienna, Austria [Travel with Manfred]
Das Johann is a famous cafe and restaurant in the Kursalon in the middle of the park Stadtpark in Vienna, right next to the even more famous gilded statue of the king of waltz Johann Strauss. It is easy to see where the name of the cafe came from. The ad of the cafe says that it offers the most beautiful terrace of Vienna. It is nice and beautiful, but there are many beautiful spots in Vienna, so to claim the have the most beautiful one is a bit pretentious. Anyway it is nice, a bit upscale, and invites to a stroll through Stadtpark before or after the cup of coffee. Official site:

A beautiful city where even the rainy streets become an art. I hurriedly moved my foot. I wanted to see the famous medieval cemetery where many of the people who built Austrian history were sleeping. The history of the Central Cemetery, which collects the remains of celebrities scattered around five downtown areas, is almost 150 years old. Spring is falling on an eternal sleep. It is not only artists who are sleeping here. There are sculptures of past scholars, past Austrian presidents and famous actors. This is a very beautiful cemetery, but unfortunately we do not have the time today so we are going to see musicians like Mozart and Beethoven. On the inside are the graves of world famous musicians. The monuments of different shapes are as individual as the music worlds which were different from each other. Mozart, Schubert, and the rogue Beethoven. Those who made a stroke in music history were making another history even though they died. Although there is no music, it is full of art souls where people get into speculation and new inspiration. I came to see the honorary cemetery because it is important for music and literature. I want to honor the artists and their work. Overall, the cemetery is a quiet place away from the noise of the city, and I think it is a good place to stay inside. Artists fell asleep in history, but their reputation did not disappear It is still shining.

St Anne's Church, Vienna - Annakirche, Wien - Crkva svete Ane u Beču
St. Anne's chapel existed since 1320. In 1518, the Gothic church was consecrated on the occasion of Saint Anne's Day (26 July).[1] The church was administered first by the Poor Clare Sisters, then by the Jesuits. Between 1629 and 1634, the Jesuits started the Baroquisation of the Gothic church. After a fire in 1747, Pozzo's pupil Christoph Tausch transformed it into late baroque using trompe l'oeil techniques. On 25 June 1747 lightning struck the tower of the church, burning down the roof framing but leaving intact the frescos. In 1751, Daniel Gran began the renovation of the interior, blackened by candle smoke. In 1773, the Jesuit order was dissolved. After starting to work in the church in 1897, the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales received the church in 1906.
Gran's frescos were renovated in the 19th century and again in 1969–1970. The 1976 Friuli earthquake, which killed more than 2,000 people in Northeastern Italy, damaged the church. From 2003 to 2005, the Annakirche was renovated under the auspices of the Federal Monuments Office Vienna.
Architecture
Ceiling fresco depicting St. Anne, by Daniel Gran
Daniel Gran created the three ceiling frescos, the high altar painting, and the frescos in the Franz Xaver chapel. The wood-carved statue representing Saint Anne with Virgin Mary and the Christ Child dates back to 1510 and is attributed to Veit Stoss. The side altarpieces were executed by Kremser Schmidt. Christoph Tausch has responsibility for the spatial arrangement.
The organ was made by the Austrian organ builder Johann Hencke (3 December 1697 Geseke – 24 September 1766 Vienna).[5]
St. Anne's Church is famous for its frescos by Daniel Gran. The topics of the frescoes are:
