Nikolai Peristov. The Discovery of the Ust Ishim Man.
In 2013 I took part in the Nikolay Peristov's expedition for the fossilised bones of the prehistoric animals. Nikolay Peristov is the one of the most recognised Russian bone carvers. He is the artist, and the custodian of the oldest Siberian Tobolsk Mammoth Ivori Tradition. Nikolai Peristov organised the school for the young carvers at the Siberian Centre of the Traditional Arts, Crafts and Culture. Nikolay Peristov is the internationally recognised paleo- historian. He distingvished himself by uncovering the remains of the oldest ancestor of Euro-Asian Homo Sapiens, the Ust-Ishim Man. Ust-Ishim Man was the hanter-gatherer of the Western Siberian planes and forests over 45000 years ago. Nikolay Peristov does his expeditions for over 30 years. His expeditions include archeologists, paleontologists and antropologists. All the material he gets from his expeditios is studied and classified by the specialists. Some bones of the prehistoric animals will be exposed in local museums, some would become DNA material for the further scientific research, some will end up in Peristov's studious as the art-subjects which represent the anscient Siderian craftmanship.
