Correct MGA 1600 features are still fitted from the obvious chrome 1600 badges to the sidelights incorporating the orange indicator and rear wing plinths holding the separate orange flasher and red brake light. The chrome bodyline-style radiator grille is original fitment and along with the rest of the bright trim displays some aging. The floor support rails and wooden floorboards are in excellent condition and the front windscreen proudly displays the MG Car Club Member sticker.
INTERIOR
Charming and beautifully period the original leather faced bucket seats finished in Black have the contrasting blue piping and correct cross pleats only found on the Coupe all in stunning condition and only minor rubbing to the drivers bolster. Cut-pile Grey carpeting throughout is clean and the door cards are perfect with all the correct chrome fixtures. The scuttle panel is covered in vinyl fabric Novon to reduce reflection and the padded dash has no splits or tears. All headlining is clean and tight and the boot area is carpeted.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
This is the first MG fitted with the legendary British Motor Corporation B Series engine which is robust and has a great reputation for trouble-free running combined with being simple to maintain. Being the larger 1588cc four cylinder engine it benefits from improved performance over the earlier 1489cc unit pushing out 79bhp, enough for a top speed of 100mph and 0-60mph in just over 15 seconds. Lifting the bonnet will please exhibitionists with everything clean, the engine colour finished in the correct dark maroon and even original identification plates attached. Regular service records and enthusiast ownership help ensure correct operation. The single dry plate hydraulically operated clutch enables smooth progress through the 4-speed gearbox which has synchromesh on second, third and fourth gears only.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Attractive and standard steel disc wheels are covered by immaculate chrome hubcaps and shod in premium Firestone F-560 155 R15 tyres with excellent tread to all four corners as well the spare. Being the 1600 model a Lockhead hydraulic braking system employing discs at the front and drums to the rear stop the car safely and very well.
HISTORY FILE
It is important to note that this is a genuine UK Home Market RHD example as confirmed by the British motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate. Around 90% of all MGA production was exported, (Source: The Essential Buyers Guide MGA by Roy Crosier and David Sear), and it is the UK examples that are desired foremost. Produced on the 2nd July 1959 this is one of just 2771 Mk1 1600 Coupes made out of a total MGA production of 101,081 over a seven year period. Enthusiast owned by MG fanatic and MG Club member, Mr Lewis Owen for 34 years this cherished car has wanted for nothing. A huge box file detailing all expenditure will delight the next custodian and is evidence that Mr Owen enjoyed driving the car. Indeed, documentation has been retained from previous Norwich Union RAC Classic Car Runs, Goodwood MG on track days and even being a regular visitor to Le Mans supporting his role as a motor racing marshal. In the early days of ownership Mr Owen also entered concours with the vehicle and was a contender in the 1989 Benson and Hedges Concours Show. A tremendously bright, useable and rare Home Market example ready for the next chapter of enjoyment.

**NOW SOLD - SIMILAR CLASSIC CARS ALWAYS REQUIRED**
A Mk1 Ford Escort Canterbury Siesta Family Caravan with 51,368 miles and two owners.
EQUIPMENT
Safety glass all round, anti-burst locks, foot operated windscreen washer, face level ventilation system. Caravan equipment to include; Cupboard space, wardrobe and locker accommodation, laminated easy clean table, florescent interior lighting, cooker/griller stove, sink with pumped water supply, six gallon water tank, cooking essentials, rust and rattle free nylon curtain runners, Canterbury elevating roof, rear pram style opener, hammock style child bed. Optional extras; Drive on/off tent.
EXTERIOR
This delightful and very rare Canterbury Siesta model retains its factory original colour Light Blue (code C5) and the manufacturer fitted stream-lined fibreglass elevated roof remains exactly as intended. The paintwork having received sympathetic cosmetic refurbishment by Dagenham Motors under instruction from the original owner has a bright uniform shine, but still retains a wonderful sense of originality. A touched in scratch on the nearside rear wing and a small area of paint undulation to the driver's door bottom certainly do not detract from the cars overall fantastic appearance. The vehicle is structurally excellent with no weld repairs and all factory fit panels are straight with linear gaps. The fibreglass section of the elevating roof is structurally perfect, free from cracks and is effortlessly raised and lowered. The fully weatherproof blue and white material to the raised roof section adds a lovely aesthetic appeal to the vehicle, and only one tiny patched hole exists. The matching pram style rear opening section is perfect with fully intact side zips and elastic seam. The drive on/off tent frame is housed in the original hessian bag but the material has been discarded due to storage damage.
INTERIOR
Astonishing and wonderfully original best describes the interior of this ultra-rare and special vehicle. The clean and comfortable rear living space offers an insight to 1970's family holidays and trips out, with all original fitments still present and intact. The kitchen equipment comprising of a Taymar cooker/griller stove (model 593 Trident) and sink with pumped and stored water is spotless and correctly installed, although but none of the camping equipment has been safety tested. The three function seating system in the rear is adaptable for forward facing travel, rear facing camping and double bed sleeping configurations. The leather grained red vinyl seat coverings double up as a mattress and are in excellent order aside from one unstitched seam. The pristine cab area with perfect unworn vinyl seats and immaculate matching door cards are a real testament to the low miles this example has enjoyed. All functions and controls housed in the spotless dashboard operate faultlessly.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The original 1298cc OHV engine fires up immediately and provides a delightfully pronounced but quiet engine note. The diaphragm spring type clutch feel positive and smooth. The four speed gearbox with synchromesh on all forward gears allows light and precise progression up the range, an absolute joy to operate. A true reflection of the low mileage and cherished ownership.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The standard pressed steel wheels with original chrome centre caps remain on the car and are in excellent condition. The spare wheel has never been fitted! The all-round drum brakes feel assured and install confidence under all circumstances.
HISTORY FILE
Factory built by Canterbury Industrial Products Limited in Basildon, a standard Ford Escort 8cwt van was the basis for the Siesta Family Caravan. This amazing example was registered new on 13th April 1970 by Wilsons Motor Caravan Centre Ltd of Brixton, London and has had just two owners from new! A metal badge from the supplying dealer remains neatly fixed to the rear nearside door. Incredibly the history file contains not only the original hand written order form but also receipts for the new car deposit of £25.00 and the full payment receipt, as well has the final typed new car invoice detailing a total purchase price of £994.00. The first owner Mr Sydney Long named on these documents owned the car until April 1989 whereupon ownership was passed on to his son in law Mr Frederick Tear who has since owned the vehicle. The original Ford Service booklet and even a sales brochure from Canterbury Industrial Products Limited are included in the history file, as well as a wonderful collection of user guides for the cooker, heater and drive away tent.
This brilliant and rare vehicle based on Britain's already adored Mk1 Escort offers a unique opportunity to both the enthusiast and the collector. Unmissable.

Rare Collecting Opportunity from the London Silver Market
*** Archive video - no longer available to purchase ***
Today you can become an owner of one of Baird & Co's fine silver originals - The Halfpenny Silver Bullion Bar - issued to commemorate the 30th anniversary of a very famous British coin.
A unique coin
It’s 30 years this year since our then smallest coin, the decimal half pence (or ha’penny) was removed from circulation.
The decimal halfpenny was unique because it was the only non-decimal coin in the new decimal system. It was only included so that people could cash in their old sixpence pieces (valued at 2.5p).
The first ever Halfpenny Silver Bullion Bar
Now, on the 30th anniversary of its withdrawal, Baird & Co. have created just 495 special Halfpenny Silver Bullion Bars.
Each bar consists of one troy ounce of 99.9% fine silver with two ha’pennies set into it. One is the last pre-decimal ha’penny and one is the last decimal ha’penny.
Only 495 of these silver bars have been created. Each one has been expertly cast and the ha’pennies expertly hand-set into them - they are not designed to be removed.
Because ha'pennies are such a low denomination people tended not to keep them as they didn’t think they’d end up being collectable. Consequently, as each year passes, there are fewer and fewer available to the collector and their collectability goes up.

Item Number: 281148040352
Listing Starts: Thursday 8th August 21.00
Listing Ends: Sunday 18th August 21.00
EQUIPMENT
Integral steel body, glass-fibre tailgate, elevating roof, third bunk in roof, fold-away single burner and grill, wardrobe hanging space, two individual aircraft style tables, fluorescent 8 watt strip light, 4lb Gaz cylinder storage, hinged moulded Perspex basin, lockers, shelving, ashtray
EXTERIOR
A presentable rare example finished in Grecian White with the De Luxe only bodyside flash in Pageant Red. A clean, structurally sound and true to the original Martin Walter conversion based on the Bedford Viva HAV-Series 8 cwt van. All the chrome is bright and shiney. The famous Dormobile elevating roof is moulded in glass fibre and still has the original terylene P.V.C red candy-stripe canopy is fabulous condition. The opening air vent catch is broken so is presently secured using tape. The rear extension allowing sleeping accommodation is again original and in excellent condition. Historic remedial repairs have been carried out and now show signs of ageing. Most noticeable are the bottom of the passenger door and rear tailgate hinge area. The chrome coach line strips have dings and some fresh tidying is evident. This is a sound, usable example but in condition 3 very worthy of continued preservation.
INTERIOR
A marvel of innovative design makes this Dormobile conversion a practical caravan in which you really can sleep and live on a short holiday in reasonable comfort, even for three adults! The interior fixtures and fittings are largely original from the woodgrained melamine faced timber to the moulded perspex basin. The extendable double bed has been reupholstered in red velvet and no curtains are fitted. The driver and passenger cockpit is clean with the black carpeting tight but small tears to the original vynide material on the side of the driver's seat can be seen. All the glass remains in excellent condition including the swivelling side panel sections although the rubbers are dry and perished slightly. The original kitchen area stove and grill has not been safety tested. Wonderful, quirky and very sound but not perfectly new.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The simple 1159cc engine is a home mechanics dream with brilliant parts availability. With only 35bhp at the drivers disposal progress is a relaxed affair provided there is no hurry! 0-60 is despatched in 49.7 seconds and the top speed is 70mph but realistically 55mph is the happy cruising limit. A combined cycle of 28mpg can be expected. The splendid short gear change of the Viva with well spaced ratios can be enjoyed. First gear can sometimes be difficult to engage until familiarity sets in.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Steel disc type with 4J X 12 standard rims and perfect chrome wheel trims are fitted. Four new Nankang 155 R12 tyres are fitted. Hydraulic brakes with two leading shoes up front and leading and trailing shoes at the rear require a firm application compared to modern standards.
HISTORY FILE
Registered new in May 1972 this Bedford Roma changed mobile caravanning for many as Martin Walter appealed to those who want to make only occasional use of camping facilities but enjoy a vehicle that handles like a car for daily use without massive expenditure. A rare survivor due to being enthusiast owned this original example can be enjoyed in its current condition but hard use will result in an eventual and inevitable easy restoration.
Tax exempt and HPI Clear.

An Incredible HC Vauxhall Viva De Luxe Estate with Just One Owner from New and 39,941 Miles - SOLD!
SOLD - SIMILAR REQUIRED PLEASE CALL 01733 425140
An incredible HC Vauxhall Viva de Luxe Estate with just one owner from new and 39,941 miles.
EQUIPMENT
Chrome bumpers, chrome hubcaps, comfort contoured seating, twin visors, front door courtesy switches, interior courtesy lighting, luggage deck light, luggage deck aluminium rubbing strips, deep-cowled safety padded facia, glove box, dashboard ashtray, rear ashtrays, durable rubber kick plates, adjustable face-level ventilation, heater with two speed fan, screen wash, headlamp flasher, oil pressure warning light. Factory fitted options; deep pile carpeting. Aftermarket accessory; period Sharp radio cassette.
EXTERIOR
This wonderfully preserved example still retains its original colour of Monaco White (code 7WH). The Vauxhall Magic Mirror Paint finish is remarkably fresh and boasts a pure shine throughout. There are minor areas where the paint has been touched in by the only owner at a novice level, and there is evidence of minor paint lift to the lower sections of the rear wheel arches. The original body panels with uniform gaps are straight and free from corrosion, although there is a small shallow dent in the offside front wing approximately two inches long. All factory fit glass, lights and trim are intact and in excellent order, including even the gold side pin stripes. The chrome bumpers have a beautiful mirror shine. Absolutely original and wonderfully unspoilt.
INTERIOR
The upholstery in this unrestored Viva is finished in Oynx Vynide, (Code 1X3) with matching door cards and deep pile carpets. The seats, door cards and headlining are truly immaculate and a credit to the only owners incredible care for his beloved car. All the interior controls and gauges incorporated in the perfect dashboard function correctly. The Viva de Luxe standard specification included rubber floor coverings, however the owner specified upgrade carpeting from new, which has remained wonderfully free from wear and sun damage. The carpet has become loose fitting in some inconspicuous areas. The cavernous luggage area portrays very light usage and the protective aluminium non-tarnish rubbing strips are like new. A truly factory fresh interior, simply marvellous and true to the manufacturers intentions.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The HC Viva Estate model featured as standard a 1256cc engine based on the well proven 1159cc four cylinder unit used in previous models. The power output is 53bhp with a top speed of 84mph. The engine fires up instantly at the turn of the key and is delightfully quiet yet eager. Progress is adequately swift and the 4-speed all-synchro gearbox offers neat, stubby shifts that work like a switch.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The original pressed steel wheels have tri-nickel chrome plated steel hubcaps in fantastic condition and are shod in 155/80 R13 tyres with excellent tread all round. Hydraulic 8 inch drum brakes with tandem master cylinder and two leading shoes at the front offer assured stopping power with a progressive feel.
HISTORY FILE
The history of this wonderful example is a story in itself, and gives an insight as to just how the car has remained in such incredible condition. Registered new on 5th February 1973, this vehicle has only ever had one devoted owner, Mr Eric Gull. Even more remarkable is the fact that the car has been kept at the same address in central London for its entire life, and stored in an underground car park beneath a large high rise housing complex. This must surely explain how the interior has remained so utterly free from sun damage, and how the structure of the car is so well preserved. Mr Gull recently took the difficult decision to part with his pride and joy due to his advancing years bringing his driving career to an end. KGF Classic Cars were thoroughly privileged and humbled upon meeting Mr Gull, and are proud to offer this astonishing vehicle to a lucky new owner. A great car with a brilliant history.

FOR SALE
A unique UK Citroën DS Super in condition 3 with two owners, full history and original.
EQUIPMENT
Hydropneumatic suspension, chrome bumpers, chrome roofline rubber over-riders, power assisted steering, power operated brakes, 4 self-levelling quartz-iodine headlights, (2 directional), contoured seats, under bonnet spare, padded dash, cigar lighter, speedometer with combined braking distance chart, two tone alpine horns, 11 control warning lights, illuminated boot, child proof locks, map pockets in doors and bulkhead, lockable glove box folding armrests, heated rear window.
EXTERIOR
This aerodynamic Citroen DS Super is finished in Bleu d'Orient (Code AC616) and looks incredible and still futuristic even today. There are many imperfections that now grace the exterior which include small dings, minor scuffs, and paint cracking. This original example despite the scars is structurally perfect having never been welded and always garaged by the two owners. All the panels are factory fit from new and only the outer skin door bottoms are needing repair should the new owner desire. All the chrome, trim, glass and badging remains in excellent order. A very genuine, sound example which can be fully enjoyed as is but is now showing its age in areas.
INTERIOR
Sumptuous, comfortable and luxurious the Super specification is wonderful. From the blue 'Targa' upholstery to the contrasting grey carpets this interior is completely unique. The cockpit is a technological tour de force with fascinating and quirky gadgets that are all designed in an amazing unconventional manner. Watching the braking distance chart for example on the speedometer is a dangerous distraction from the airy and very spacious cabin. The driver's seat is worn with frayed material and one spoke steering wheel has some foam missing but all other trim is in remarkable condition including the headlining and door cards. All the switches, stalks and gauges function but the tachometer and clock have stopped working. Clean, tidy and perfectly Citroen!
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The 1995cc engine has a five bearing crankshaft and is incredibly smooth producing 108bhp at 5500rpm giving a top speed of 105mph and a 0-60 in 13.4 seconds. An impeccable service log boosts enjoyment while returning 27mpg. The column mounted 5-speed hydraulic all synchromesh gearbox is intuitive and a joy to use.
SUSPENSION
The hydropneumatic suspension on this example operates perfectly. This remarkable suspension acts each of the four wheels independently maintaining constant body-height irrespective of road service below or internal load. The manual lever located inside the car overrides the automatic mechanism so that the driver can physically raise the car from the driving seat to increase clearance over difficult terrain or lowered completely for easy loading. This is a must have driving experience for all car enthusiasts!
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The steel wheels are furnished with full width chrome disc covers in fabulous condition. Tyres are expensive but mandatory Michelin Radial 180 HR15 XAS all with ample tread remaining. The brakes are high pressure hydraulic servo controlled with automatic compensation for rear load variation. Initial caution on the first drive will need to be taken until the new owner becomes familiar with this Citroen trait.
HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 19thth April 1972 by Citroen Main Dealers Moto Baldet of Wellingborough, this incredible vehicle has only had two owners. The first, Mr John Barker of Wellingborough kept the vehicle for 12 years before part exchanging for the modern replacement, a Citroen CX. The second owner, Mr David Hunt a true Citroen advocate, kept a written log from his purchase in May 1984 from the same dealer. This log is in chronological order from the first entry on the 10th November 1984 to the latest in March 2012 and spans 10 pages in amazing detail of all work carried out. It will leave absolutely no doubt for the new owner how perfectly maintained this car is.

Young Families Driving Caravan Comeback
There has seen a marked increase in the number of young families taking their holidays in caravans, with celebrities leading the way.
Rob Ganley, of the National Camping and Caravanning Club, told Sky News it is seen by many as an attractive option and a unique opportunity to spend more time together.
Speaking during National Camping and Caravanning Week, Mr Ganley said: More and more families are taking up tent camping and it's a natural progression from tent camping into caravanning, which people see as a more comfortable option.
You've got a fridge-freezer, grill, hob, microwave oven, a flushing toilet and a shower - it's the next step up.
Even celebrities are investing in this pastime as a holiday option.
The Rooneys recently bought a caravan in North Wales, Jamie Oliver famously enjoys motor-caravanning.
A lot more people are recognising that it's an attractive holiday option as it's a unique opportunity to spend time together without the distractions of modern life that maybe a package holiday would offer.
People are beginning to appreciate the value of reconnecting with nature and with their families.
The National Caravan Council said sales of new motor-homes are up 18% on last year, with caravan sales up 9%.
Together there are just over 750,000 in use today on Britain's roads.
At the rain-soaked Horsely camp site in Surrey, 12-year-olds Ben and Ethan Pembrey have just been fishing for the first time in their lives.
They are on a short break with their grandparents Terry and Carol - and their dog Cloud.
It's freedom, says Carol.
It's quality time with the family, and all the camp sites have excellent facilities and really it's a home from home.
You've got the freedom that you don't experience in hotels.
I hope you saw video is good for you..

An incredible Volvo 244GL with only two owners and 36,639 miles.
EQUIPMENT
Front spoiler, halogen headlights, headlamp washer/wipers, day running lights, steel sliding sunroof, tinted windows, power steering, central locking, crumple zones, steel tubes welded in the doors, engine bay light, luggage compartment courtesy light, three-point inertia reel seat-belts front and rear, heated drivers seat, bulb integrity sensor, rev counter, rear centre armrest, safety belt reminders, quartz clock, ignition/lights buzzer warning, cigar lighter. Dealer Accessories; Volvo MW/LW radio, towbar, window etching.
EXTERIOR
Metallic paint was standard on the 244GL and this stunning car is finished in Redwood Metallic, (Code 175). Volvo claimed in their 1982 literature that the average life expectancy of a Volvo is 18.7 years, 2.7 years longer than their closest rival, Mercedes-Benz and judging by the depth of shine of this first paint car you can believe their claims! All the chrome trim has a mirror finish and the large impact rubber bumpers and plastic trim are in fantastic order. All glass in Volvo branded Templex and laminated to the front with Identicar window etching to all sections. Volvo mudflaps are still attached to all four corners and period number plates remain fitted. Garaged continually by its second owner since 1984, all wheel arch lips, door bottoms, underside and apertures are spotless and a credit to the careful owner and low 38,639 miles.
INTERIOR
The famous Volvo virtues of safety, reliability and durability are evident everywhere in this fine cabin. Upgraded Plush upholstery standard on the GL model is finished in Copper-brown and remains unworn and clean thanks to the low owner/low mile credentials. Orthopaedic specialists helped to design the Volvo drivers seat with height adjustment, lumbar support and integrated seat heating resulting in comfort and support. Passengers can enjoy one of 14 air outlets to produce efficient distribution of hot or cold air and all switch gear, controls and gauges operate including the Volvo Quartz clock and optional Volvo MW/LW radio. The padded dash, door bins and interior trim plastics are free from cracks or damage and the steering wheel has veins clearly visible due to the low 36,639 miles covered. The boot area is immaculate and still attached are stickers advising ‘how to use the jack’ to the boot lid and to ‘secure long load’ through the hatch into the cabin area.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
New for 1982 and fitted to the 244GL was the 2.3 litre carburettor B23A in-line 4-cylinder engine. Effortless and whisper quiet performance it produces 112hp and works in perfect combination with the optional 3 stage torque convertor automatic transmission. Purists will marvel at the pristine engine bay with all identification plates and stampings clearly visible. Even the delicate stickers remain attached such as the Volvo coolant sticker fitted to the header tank. Amazing.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The original 14in steel wheels are finished in the correct bronze tint often lost to silver shades on refurbishment and being the higher spec GL model, has the attractive chrome embellishers, all unmarked. All four corners and the spare are fitted with Michelin 185/70R tyres with ample tread. As a testament to the careful ownership three of the five tyres are manufacturer fit, perfect for the show circuit but a change is advisable if regular use is intended. Triangle split, dual-circuit brake system and stepped bore master cylinder accompanies power assisted disc brakes to the front and rear, bringing the car to a straight and steady halt.
HISTORY FILE
Supplied new on the 27th September 1982 to a Dr Edwin Mansell before being sold to long-term and only other owner two years later, Mr Roger Little. Mr Little purchased the car from Brian Stevens Cars in Enfield, specialists in one owner low mileage cars for £5,795. Being the conscientious type he opted for the Used Vehicle warranty for peace of mind and has cherished the car ever since. The car has remained continually garaged and used sparingly with old MOT certificates validating the low 38,639 miles. Such was his fondness and devotion for this car that a second daily vehicle was purchased so his pride and joy 244 could remain carefully stored with wheels off the ground in the heated garage!

Delightful and correct in every manor. The biscuit cloth seats and tan vinyl trim evoke real 1970's nostalgia and is presented in excellent order. The thick tan carpeting in the load area is clean and wear free. The front foot wells are still protected by the original MG rubber floor mats. All the controls, gauges and switches set in the perfect crackle finish fascia function. The optional PYE radio cassette fitted from new works along with all other electrical items. The headlining is tight and all door cars undamaged. The centre armrest has a minor tear but along the seam. An MG interior worthy of the low miles travelled.

HISTORY FILE
Supplied new by Mann Egerton & Company Ltd, main MG Dealers in Leicester on the 1st August 1976 to a Mrs B Warren who owned the car for 25 years. Then sold to MG enthusiast and club member, Mr Jarvis in 2001. On passing away his wife, Elizabeth Jarvis, took ownership and has only just been able to sell the car. The original Owners handbook, Passport to Service and a MGB GT brochure from the period are included in the sale. There are a number of entries in the service book but much of the paperwork was discarded on the loss of Mr Jarvis.
