BACK ON THE ROAD || MAASAI MARA TRAVEL VLOG (OLARRO CONSERVANCY)
A few weeks back I got to travel to Olarro Conservancy, (here in Kenya). Spent a weekend there and had the time of my life. I've had a super busy schedule -lately- with my new job, and it was great to get out of the city and go on an incredible adventure. The highlight of my trip was the Quad Bike Safari, in the wild.
Cruising through the conservancy surrounded by wildlife was surreal! As you know I love adventure, especially if it involves exploring our beautiful country!
A quick description about Olarro:
Olarro is Masai term meaning buffalo. The conservancy is located in South Western Kenya in the Loita Hills Massif. It's is 6000 feet above sea level, nestled in the Enkijape hills around 200 Kilometers from Nairobi.
How can you get there?
It can be accessed by a short private charter or helicopter flight - 30 minutes from Nairobi and 20 minutes from the Masai Mara Game Reserve. By road: A visually stunning drive from Nairobi along the Great Rift Valley escarpment and then down across the valley floor and up to the Loita foothills (3 hours). Alternatively, Olarro Conservancy is a short 1 ½ hour drive from the Keekorok Gate of the Masai Mara Game Reserve)
Take a break from your busy schedule, folks! Traveling cleanses your mind body and soul. Let's travel more...and fret less!
Stay well, stay healthy and look out for more content!

Magadi Trip day trip by Kenya Outdoors Video by Muraguri
Depart from Nairobi in the morning, and head south towards the Ngong Hills (made famous from Karen Blixen’s, Out of Africa).
Before we descend over the escarpment, we stop for photos and views across the Great Rift Valley. Then descend over the Ngong Hills, continuing south into a semi-arid landscape, upto lake Magadi. We approach the lake from the eastern side via the Magadi town and past the Magadi Soda factory. Enter the Lake Magadi reserve area and continue onto the hot springs where for swimming and wading in the springs (if the weather is not too hot). We may meet the
local Maasai who use the lake daily for swimming. It is possible to see animals around Magadi like zebra, gazelle, impala and warthog.
Relax at the Swimming Club Restaurant (you can order lunch or do swimming) before returning to Nairobi around 7pm.

Olesekut Hike by Kenya Outdoors
Situated in the South Rift Valley about 60km from Nairobi, the Olesekut summit on Oloroka mountain range offers a moderately easy day hike through Maasai country that takes about 3-6 hours to complete.
After starting at the plains near Ole Sayeti, the trail skirts to the left of this little hill, then cuts across another plain to get to the base of Olesekut. It then winds its way up onto oloroka ridges that present spectacular views of the surrounding countryside, including the distant Ngong Hills.
From here on, the trail levels off at a high elevation and follows a ridge top with stunning V-shaped gullies running off to the sides, and breathtaking sheer cliff drops. At the head of one of these side valleys is Kitalo Cave, a refuge for Maasai Morans during their period of living in the wild, following their circumcision. Save for the few herds of Maasai livestock you encounter grazing on the lower hill slopes, Olesekut is delightfully isolated from civilization, and from its summit you get magnificent views of both Ngong Hills and Mt Olorgesailie. It makes for a truly refreshing day hike from Nairobi.
Hotsprings and Flamingoes Lake Magadi Kenya Travel vlog
#lakemagadi #placestovisitkenya #kenyatravelvlog
Lake Magadi is the southernmost lake in the Kenyan Rift Valley, lying in a catchment of faulted volcanic rocks, north of Tanzania's Lake Natron. During the dry season, it is 80% covered by soda and is well known for its wading birds, including flamingos.
Lake Magadi is a saline, alkaline lake, approximately 100 square kilometers in size, that lies in an endorheic basin formed by a graben. The lake is an example of a saline pan. The lake water, which is a dense sodium carbonate brine, precipitates vast quantities of the mineral trona (sodium sesquicarbonate). In places, the salt is up to 40 m thick. The lake is recharged mainly by saline hot springs (temperatures up to 86 °C) that discharge into alkaline lagoons around the lake margins, there being little surface runoff in this arid region. Most hot springs lie along the northwestern and southern shorelines of the lake. During the rainy season, a thin (less than 1 m) layer of brine covers much of the saline pan, but this evaporates rapidly leaving a vast expanse of white salt that cracks to produce large polygons. A single species of fish, a cichlid Alcolapia grahami, inhabits the hot, highly alkaline waters of this lake basin and is commonly seen in some of the hot spring pools around the shoreline, where the water temperature is less than 45 °C.

Thank you for watching this ultimate Kenyan street food tour in Nairobi! I met up with my friend James who took me around to a few of his favorite spots to eat.
Kawangware, Nairobi, Kenya
Here's most of the food we tried on this amazing tour of Nairobi:
Ann Restaurant - Dagoretti Corner - This small street food stall on Dagoretti Corner in Nairobi serves all sorts of Kenyan / East African foods. Their chapatis are especially good, and their Lake Victoria sardines fried with tomatoes.
Chapati
Dagaa - Lake Victoria sardine
Matumbo - stomach stew
Githeri - beans and maize
The guy sitting across the table - “you should not eat beans and sardines together, or you’ll have gas.”
Total bill - 1,050 KES ($10.39) - we paid for 4 or 5 guys eating there
Stomach Clinix - This was the best food stop of the day, a neighborhood meat shop that James took me to that specializes in cow head soup. The grilled tongue was also spectacular, but the soup was the best.
Total price - 200 KES ($1.98)
Dagoretti Market - After the meat, we took a walk over to Dagoretti Market. After browsing around for a while, we stopped for another plate of mixed Kenyan food, mostly dengu, which are mung beans. It was simple, but quite good.
Dengu - mung beans
Total price - 300 KES ($2.97)
Unity Cafe Hotel - We met up with some of James' friend in Kawangware, and went to eat across the street from their shoe shop. The mandazi mix was the highlight of this Kenyan meal.
Total price - 600 KES ($5.94) for all
Cow foot fry - Next we headed over to Oscar who makes cow food soup, fry and boil. He was a very friendly man, and showed me his entire process of making cow foot soup. It was delicious!
Total price - 450 KES ($4.45)
Kenyan street food - To end this Kenyan street food tour of Nairobi we had to eat one of the ultimate Kenyan fast food meat treats. You'll see these types of grills all over the streets in the late afternoon throughout Nairobi. You just choose what you want, it's cut on the chopping board, and you stand and eat.
Esophagus
Intestines
Mutura - minced meat sausage
Mutura - blood sausage
Udder
Total price - 200 KES ($1.97)
Thank you for watching this ultimate Nairobi street food tour!

Kenya in Africa ???????????????????? Travel video ✈????????????
Kenya (kɛnjə), officially the Republic of Kenya (Swahili: Jamhuri ya Kenya), is a country in Africa with 47 semiautonomous counties governed by elected governors. At 580,367 square kilometres (224,081 sq mi), Kenya is the world's 48th largest country by total area. With a population of more than 52.2 million people, Kenya is the 27th most populous country. Kenya's capital and largest city is Nairobi while its oldest city and first capital is the coastal city of Mombasa. Kisumu City is the third largest city and also an inland port on Lake Victoria. Other important urban centres include Nakuru and Eldoret.
Kenya is bordered by South Sudan to the North West, Ethiopia to the North, Somalia to the East, Uganda to the West, Tanzania to the South and the Indian Ocean to the South-East.
Nilotic-speaking pastoralists (ancestral to Kenya's Nilotic speakers) started migrating from present-day Southern Sudan into Kenya around 500 BC. European colonisation of Kenya began in the 19th century during the European exploration of the interior. The modern-day Kenya emerged from a protectorate established by the British Empire in 1895 and the subsequent Kenya Colony, which began in 1920. Numerous disputes between the UK and the colony led to the Mau Mau revolution, which began in 1952, and the subsequent declaration of independence in 1963. After independence, Kenya remained a member of the Commonwealth of Nations. The current constitution was adopted in 2010 to replace the 1963 independence constitution.
Kenya is a presidential representative democratic republic, in which elected officials represent the people and the president is the head of state and government. Kenya is a member of United Nations, World Bank, International Monetary Fund, COMESA, and other international organisations. With a GNI of 1,460, Kenya is a lower-middle-income economy. Kenya's economy is the largest in eastern and central Africa. with Nairobi serving as a major regional commercial hub. Agriculture is the largest sector; tea and coffee are traditional cash crops, while fresh flowers are a fast-growing export. The service industry is also a major economic driver, particularly tourism. Kenya is a member of the East African Community trade bloc, though some international trade organisations categorise it as part of the Greater Horn of Africa. Africa is Kenya's largest export market, followed by the European Union.
