A Quick Tour Of Kabuki Sundance Cinema.mp4
On our most recent outing to the movies to see Team Jacob in ECLIPSE I film the plush Kabuki Sundance Cinema owned by Robert Redford in San Francisco to show those of you who have not had the pleasure of attending a showing at the remodeled-assigned-cushioned-rocking-chair-seating-alcohol drinking permitted-fine dining at your seat on real glassware venue to show you what you've been missing. It may be a little pricey but it sure did bring in a more elegant clientele that is a welcome scene from the sometimes troublesome audiences that other theaters in the city seem to have ongoing problems with. Parking is secure and validated and can be accessed by several lines of MUNI.
AMC closes on Carmike deal, future for Sundance Kabuki theater 'uncertain'
The future of San Francisco's Sundance Kabuki theater in Japantown appears to be uncertain following AMC Entertainment's closing of the $1.2 billion Carmike Cinemas deal.

細雪 (ささめゆき) Live at the Yu Ai Kai in San Jose, Nihon Machi, California. Randy Osborne Singer.
I made a video 6 years go of this same song, that is on You Tube. Over 400 views.
Sasameyuki means light snow. Though I've had this song memorized for many years I take advantage to read it from the karaoke screen at the Yu Ai Kai Senior Citizens Center, because I read French out loud for many hours every day when there are no customers in my Violin, Classical and Flamenco Guitar store. In July of 2006 I was hearing or as I might say listening to 5 1/2 hours of English language media a week on my TV. In August of 2006 I shut if off completely and would only listen to Japanese, having begun that language on May 11, 2004. Presently I only listen to French in my home, automobile and store, I read English, and Spanish every day, sometimes Japanese, Portuguese, Italian, French or Catalan dialect of Barcelona on the internet. I have sung at least 20 Japanese Enka songs in public in the last 6 years, and sang at the Cherry Blossom Festival at the Kabuki Sundance Theater in San Francisco in April of 2010, as a part of a 36 singer presentation of karaoke performances. The last Monday of January 2020 is the 29th anniversary of my being interviewed in Spanish and playing 5 Classical and Flamenco Guitar songs on KDTV Channel 14, in San Jose, California.

Rahman Jamaal verse from the Bay Area Theatre Cypher - Episode One: Community.
Rahman Jamaal
@rahmanjamaal
@RapForceAcademy
Rahman Jamaal McCreadie started stage-acting at six years old. The only son of a single self-employed arts teacher, he began writing rhymes in 5th Grade for school projects at The Nueva School. His first acting lead in 7th grade was playing King Claudio in a Kabuki version of Hamlet. In 8th grade he was a post-apocalyptic Macbeth. Since then, he has played a variety of roles from Tom Robinson to Sweeney Todd, Oscar (The Odd Couple) and Bud Frump (How to Succeed in Business).
In college, he was cast in his first film while on scholarship to study Cinema-Television at USC: a Hip Hop urban-drama-musical for which he wrote, composed and performed all the songs as the lead character “Flip”. “The Beat”, by writer/director Brandon Sonnier, set the record for the youngest feature filmmaker to be accepted into the Sundance Film Festival (20 years old) in 2003. While his TV/film debut aired on networks across the globe from 2005-2012, Jamaal pursued music and returned to The Bay. He started developing rap curriculum with associates in Hip Hop Congress at The Riekes Center in Menlo Park, CA when he was hired to teach for a new public charter school called Summit Prep, in his hometown of Redwood City.
For the past 15 years, Rahman has maintained his performance as a rap educator through his company, Rap Force Academy. While serving youth from Oakland and Marin to San Jose, he was employed by over 10 respected Bay Area educational organizations, most recently at the African-American Shakespeare Company (AASC) and Handful Players in San Francisco. In 2015, he became the Executive Director for Hip Hop Congress, Inc. now a 25+ year-old 501c3 network of artists, student/community organizations, and educators using Hip Hop and creative urban culture to spread social awareness through communities locally, regionally, nationally and globally.
