Take a visit to the beautiful city of Chiang Rai. It has a lively street life and some amazing temples. The White Temple is of unmatched beauty, designed to be heaven on earth. We will also take a brief visit to the hill tribe community. Then we’ll take a look at the Chiang Rai night bazaar and we will finish our day with a visit at the Chiang Rai flower festival.
Mueang Chiang Rai is a city in Mueang Chiang Rai District, Chiang Rai Province. Chiang Rai is the northernmost large city in Thailand. It was established as a capital city in the reign of King Mangrai, in 1262 CE.
What else can you visit while in Chiang Rai?
Baan Si Dum – Black House
Just two kilometers north of the famous White Temple, you will find the mysterious Black House or ‘Baan Dam,’ built by Kositpipat’s former teacher Thawan Duchanee. Not just one building, but a collection of almost forty monuments which are home to Duchanee’s extensive collection of weird taxidermy and bones.
Chiang Rai Night Bazaar
Tad Kwan Village Park and Waterfall
One of the last unspoiled Mien Hill Tribe villages where you can see and learn about the Mien culture, visit/swim in the waterfall and tour the village & surrounding countryside in a buggy (included). This is a fun day out for all the family: the ladies will enjoy the culture, the gents the buggies and kids the waterfall.
Wat Rong Khun
Perhaps better known to foreigners as the White Temple, is a contemporary, unconventional, privately owned, art exhibit in the style of a Buddhist temple in Chiang Rai Province, Thailand. It is owned by Chalermchai Kositpipat, who designed, constructed, and opened it to visitors in 1997. It is open all year round and there is no charge for admission.
Wat Phra Kaeo
This was the original location of the Emerald Buddha, now housed in Bangkok's Wat Phra Kaeo.

J's Dad has been talking about doing a buggy or All Terrain Vehicle experience for a very long time. So we just had to take him this time whilst the adrenaline was fresh the waterfall hike we did the day before.
