Endangered wild leopards appear in N China’s Shanxi
Around four wild leopards have recently appeared in the Si Xian Nao Natural Reserve in the Qixian County in north China's Shanxi Province. It’s the twelfth time that the species was seen in the area since 2002. Experts say this means the natural reserve has become their long-time habitat. The species of wild leopard is facing extinction in China. And it’s now under first-level national protection. The Si Xian Nao Natural Reserve is located in the middle part of the Taihang Mountain, covering an area of 160 square kilometers.

Colorful scenery draws visitors to southwest Chinese mountain
A multi-colored blanket of fall leaves has lit up a popular tourist resort in southwest China's Sichuan, with hoards of visitors coming to enjoy a pleasant late-autumn stroll. The Guangwu Mountain area in Nanjiang County of Bazhong City is famous for its landscape of fall leaves, with their colorful pigments ranging from buttery yellow to amber orange to burgundy red. The scenery usually lasts for one month every year, attracting numerous visitors who flock to embrace the tranquil surroundings.

Niangzi Pass , also called the Ladies' Pass, is a mountain pass west of Shijiazhuang, capital of Hebei Province in North China.One of the major passages from Shanxi Province to Hebei Province across the Taihang Mountains, it is 55 kilometres west of Shijiazhuang, at the point where the Shitai Railway crosses the border between the two provinces on its way to Taiyuan.Surrounded by a maze of hills and valleys, Niangziguan Pass was famed as the Ninth Pass on the Great wall.The extant pass was built in 1542 during the Ming Dynasty.

山西是中華民族發祥地之一，山西有文字記載的曆史達三千年，被譽爲華夏文明搖籃，素有中國古代文化博物館之稱。女娲補天的傳說發生在山西，中華民族的始祖黃帝、炎帝都曾把山西作爲活動的主要地區。西侯度文化和丁村文化遺址表明，在舊石器時代山西已有了人類繁衍生息。
Shanxi, named for the west of Taihang Mountain, is called Jin, also known as the three Jin, and Taiyuan is its capital city. The total area is 156 thousand and 700 square kilometers. It connects with Taihang Mountain from the East, Lvliang Mountian and Yellow River from the West and South, ancient Great Wall, and Hebei, Henan, Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia and other provinces from the North. Liu Zongyuan, a poet, called it situated at the foot of a hill and beside a river.
Shanxi,has a history of written records for three thousand year, is one of the birthplaces of the Chinese nation, known as the cradle of Chinese civilization and ancient Chinese Cultural Museum. The legend of the goddess, Nvwa, patches the sky took place in Shanxi. Huang Emperor and Yan Emperor, the ancestors of the Chinese nation, once regarded Shanxi as the main area of activities. Xihoudu culture and Ding Village cultural relics show that there were human beings in the Paleolithic Age in Shanxi.

As one of ‘China’s Ten Most Renowned Temples’, Longxing Temple in Zhengding, Hebei, is 20 minutes’ drive away from Shijiazhuang. Historically, the Zhengding county, together with Beijing and Baoding, were called ‘three most important cities in the north’. The temple preserves a Northern-Song-Dynasty-style layout and houses treasures with a history of over a thousand years. Liang Sicheng and Lu Xun were once astonished by it. Following Ding Yao, an architecture scholar, Yit visits Longxing Temple to explore the miracles from a thousand years ago.
