Shopping In Agra | Cheapest Market For Branded Leather Items | City of Taj Mahal
Agra is a synonym to Taj Mahal, but did you guys also know Agra is also home to leather shops? The largest shoes manufacturing industry in Asia and the Government leather institute both are located in Agra. Be it leather boots, belts, bags, slipper, jackets, gloves or anything made of leather. Agra has markets where you can get some of the best deals on leather goods. So, in this video, I have explored Sadar Bazaar of Agra which is the most famous and highly reputed market of the Taj Mahal city to buy leather items.
Location and timing –
This market is located very close to the Taj Mahal and Agra cantt Railway Station. It opens at 11 o clock in the morning and remains open till 11 o clock at night. This market is open 6 days a week except Sundays. Sadar Bazaar market is one of the most famous markets of Agra. It is very crowded and you will see streets here filled with locals and foreigners looking for buying leather goods and bargaining on the price.
Best Places to buy –
Although there are many leather shops in the market, a few of the shops are worth visiting. A store named Taj Leather World and TFS outlet is located in the market. They are reasonable and offers good quality products.
A few tips to shop in this market:
1. There are a few men at the extreme end of the market selling womens’ leather boots on thelas. If you’re lucky, you’ll get something unique and chic in your size.
2. Have your bargaining game on point. Always bargain before making the final call.
3. Avoid going shopping with drivers or guides at they tend to get heavy commissions, making your items costly
So, guys, that was all from the famous Sadar Bazaar Market of Agra city. When you visit Agra to enjoy the beauty of Taj Mahal, don’t forget to explore this market. It won’t leave you disappointed.

Places To Visit In Agra | Where To Go Other Than Taj Mahal | DesiGirl Traveller
In this video, I have explored several monuments of Agra. We all know that Taj Mahal (one of the world’s wonders) is in Agra and many people come to the city to witness this beauty. However, the beauty of Agra city is not just limited to Taj Mahal. There’s a lot to explore in this city. I have visited a few of the beautiful monuments and forts in Agra including Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Fatehpuri Masjid, Mehtab Bagh etc. Everyone knows about Taj Mahal. It doesn’t need an introduction. We know that this monument is one amongst the World’s Wonders, one amongst the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, a legend of eternal love of an Emperor for his favourite Queen. Well, Taj Mahal has distinctions much beyond just these. Therefore, it surely deserves your visit once and more.
.
Agra Fort is another monument which you must visit when you are in Agra. This fort was built in the year 1573 by the king Akbar - one of the greatest Mughal Emperors. It is said that in-total 4000 workers worked for 8 years to complete the construction of this fort. This fort was built with an idea to make it the main residence of the Mughals. The architecture of Agra Fort which is also known as Red Fort of Agra is simply brilliant. This fort houses many impressive structures inside it including Khas Mahal, Jahangir Mahal, Diwan-e-Aaam, Diwan-e-Khaas, Moti Masjid, Machchhi Bhawan and a lot more. This fort is just 2.5 kilometers away from the Taj Mahal and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
.
Other than Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, Fatehpuri Masjid and Mehtab Bagh are the few places where tourist can visit in Agra. So, guys, that was all from my trip to Agra. I have done a few other videos on Agra, putting the links below. I hope you enjoy this video. Keep spreading love and share your travel stories with me. Loads of Love.

Welcome to Meet at Agra 2019 | AFMEC
The Agra Footwear Manufacturers and Exporters Chamber (AFMEC), was established in 1998 to promote footwear manufacturing and export within the periphery of Agra.
Main objective of the AFMEC has been to adopt modern technology as well as highest quality standards in footwear manufacturing so as to compete in the European/American and other markets outside India.
AFMEC started organizing “MEET AT AGRA”, an yearly exhibition-cum-fair, in the year 2007 to promote AGRA as an destination where the footwear machinery manufacturers/suppliers and footwear components manufacturers/suppliers from across Asia/EUROPE/America etc. could come together at one place to showcase best of technology as well as latest products for the futuristic demand.
MEET AT AGRA has been the success story of AFMEC over the years as the number of participants as well as business at the fair has increased many times during the last 12 years of its journey. MEET AT AGRA is now in its 13th year.
AFMEC has also created its own state of the art exhibition-cum-convention centre namely “AGRA TRADE CENTER” on the national highway, which has become a landmark in itself.
As of now AFMEC represents more than 100 leading footwear manufacturer-exporters (Rs. 3000 crores of exports from the city of Agra) and aim is to take the export turnover to Rs. 10000 crores in near future.
AFMEC is serving the footwear industry in Agra in active association with Council for Leather Export (CLE) and other government departments.
Agra is one of the biggest clusters in the footwear sector in India among Kolkata, Kanpur and Chennai. “There are around 10,000 micro-size units; 150 small-scale industry units; around 30 medium-scale units; and, around 15 large-scale units in the city”.
Agra’s huge potential to impact the global footwear market has been recognized by the government, which released a special package for implementing its Indian Footwear, Leather & Accessories Development Programme. In tandem, MSME Development Institutes are working on imparting business and technical knowledge of the sector to already-existing entrepreneurs as well as those who want to work in this sector. AFMEC work as a collective force and spread awareness regarding the opportunities available by organizing seminars, meetings from time to time for its members.
Though these and other similar efforts, AFMEC have started making a difference.
Despite many government initiatives for the sector, footwear manufacturers and exporters think, that a lot still remains to be done and therefore the roll of AFMEC.

Agra: Hell For Leather
Election trail: Agra's leather and footwear industry has been hit hard by GST and demonetisation, with daily wagers the worst hit. Sadhika Tiwari reports
Agra, India Taj Mahal and Agra Fort 1/30/2018
Visit to the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort
Agra Tourist Places | Best Places to visit in Agra
The tourist places in Agra are second to none.
Agra Ka Taj Mahal
It houses one of the seven wonders of the world, Taj Mahal and even has two other unesco world heritage sites.
So here is what I visited in Agra :-
1) TAJ MAHAL -
Words can not express it's beauty, one has to visit Taj Mahal to admire this monument of love.
Taj Mahal is closed during Friday's and opens from sunrise to sunset.
Foreign nationals fees is ₹ 1100/- and if one wants to visit the mausoleum he has to pay a additional fee of ₹200/-
I feel one should visit the Taj Mahal in the morning to avoid the rush.
One needs to hop on a Electric tuk tuk from the car parking area, charges are ₹10/- per person.
Shoe covers are also needed which will cost ₹10/-
Bag packs or any other carry bags are not allowed inside the Taj Mahal.
Regular Entry Fees for Indians ₹50
Location :-
2) AGRA FORT -
It's the residence of the Mughal Empire, it houses Sheesh Mahal, Akbar Mahal, diwan E Aam and a masque.
This red sandstone fort was even ruled by the Maratha Empire before coming under the British Empire.
Entry Fees for Indians ₹40
Location :-
3) FETHPUR SIKRI -
A town made by mughal emperor Akbar on the outskirts of Agra, it acted as it's second capital.
It houses a dargah of sufi saint Salim Chishti.
One has to park his car at the designated govt car parking at ₹100/- for visiting Fethpur Sikri.
There is a CNG bus that takes you to the fort for ₹10/- per person.
Entry Fees for indians ₹50
Location :-
4) AGRA SHOE MARKET -
Agra is the biggest footwear manufacturing hub in India. So one can shop for surplus goods from Sadar Bazaar and buy leather footwear at extremely reasonable prices.
Do watch my dedicated agra shoe shopping for reference.
5) AGRA STREET FOOD -
One can not miss Agra street food if one visits the Taj City.
I recommend you to savour Bedhai Puri, Alu Tikki Chat and Petha during your visit.
Do watch my dedicated agra street food for reference.

Marble Shop, Agra
The city of Agra is just not only gifted with a legacy of fine heritage monuments for the future generations to come but also with a legacy of exquisite embroidery designs, beautiful leather craftsmanship and intricate marble work, all of which make shopping in Agra a truly memorable experience.
Right from the past, when Agra was the seat of the Mughal Empire, the royal household used to lavishly spend on craftsmen and artisans, right from sculptors, painters, artisans, jewelers, weavers, embroiderers and carpet makers, to musicians and metal workers. It is said that Empress Noor Jahan employed a large number of women seamstresses who embroidered the grand robes of the Emperor and his courtiers replete with exquisite embroidery. These craftsmen had passed their skills from generation to generation which has resulted in the shops of Agra remaining vibrant and full of enchanting wares even today.
A haven for discerning buyers, Agra is a great place to buy traditional artifacts and handicrafts. One of the most popular souvenir items that is a must buy for all tourists in Agra is a replica of the Taj Mahal. You are sure to encounter these miniature Taj Mahals virtually everywhere that range from cheap plastic ones to beautiful ones in marble.
