Roman Bath is the original constructed by Ancient Roman and it is located in the center of Bath, few steps from Bath Abbey. The first shrine at the site of the hot springs was built by Celts, and was dedicated to the goddess Sulis, whom the Romans identified with Minerva. The spring was discovered in in 836 BC by the British king Bladud who built the first baths. Romans built the Temple in 60-70 AD and the bathing complex was gradually built up over the next 300 years. The spring is now housed in 18th-century buildings, designed by architects John Wood, the Elder and John Wood, the Younger, father and son. Visitors drank the waters in the Grand Pump Room, a neo-classical salon which remains in use, both for taking the waters and for social functions. Victorian expansion of the baths complex followed the neo-classical tradition established by the Woods. In 1810 the Hot Springs failed and William Smith opened up the Hot Bath Spring to the bottom, where he found that the spring had not failed but had flowed into a new channel. Smith restored the water to its original course and the Baths filled in less time than formerly. The Grand Pump Room was begun in 1789 by Thomas Baldwin. He resigned in 1791 and John Palmer continued the scheme until its completion in 1799.The elevation on to Abbey Church Yard has a centre piece of four engaged Corinthian columns with entablatures and pediment. It has been designated by English Heritage as a grade I listed building. The north colonnade was also designed by Thomas Baldwin. The south colonnade is similar but had an upper floor added in the late 19th century. The museum and Queen's Bath including the Bridge spanning York Street to the City Laundry were by Charles Edward Davis in 1889. Presented by Gladys Powney.

Bath, UK complete walking tour
The town center of Bath has a human scale with lowrise buildings and quiet streets lined with shops and galleries ideal for strolling, all contained in a relatively small area only about 1000 meters in one direction and 500 meters in the other. A nice place to start walking is the small Abbey Green, a peaceful courtyard with a large tree in the middle and historic old buildings all around. This courtyard is quite central. It's just one block over from the Bath Abbey and yet is easily missed because it's really not very conspicuous.

No.1 Royal Crescent is a Georgian town house that creates a vital picture of life in Georgian Bath. Built between 1767 -- 1774 to the designs of the architect John Wood the Younger, the Royal Crescent is justly considered one of the finest achievements of 18th century urban architecture and represents the highest point of Palladian architecture in Bath. No.1 was the first house to be built in the Crescent and originally provided luxury accommodation for the aristocratic visitors who came to take the waters and enjoy the social season. Each room is an exquisite example of Georgian interior design with authentic furniture, paintings, textiles and carpets. The Dining Room is set for dessert whilst the elegant Drawing Room is ready for fashionable visitors to take tea. The Gentleman's Retreat reveals the interests of No.1's first resident, Mr Henry Sandford, including travel and discoveries, electricity and agriculture as well as local gossip and news. Upstairs are a Gentleman's and a Lady's bedroom, with original paraphernalia and fittings. Below stairs are the original kitchen and scullery, coal-holes and servant's corridors, the Housekeeper's Room and Servants' Hall. Guides in every room bring the house to life with stories of the past. (Presented by Caroline Kay)

Bath Abbey
The Abbey Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul, Bath, commonly known as Bath Abbey, is an Anglican parish church and a former Benedictine monastery in Bath, Somerset, England. Founded in the 7th century, Bath Abbey was reorganised in the 10th century and rebuilt in the 12th and 16th centuries; major restoration work was carried out by Sir George Gilbert Scott in the 1860s. It is one of the largest examples of Perpendicular Gothic architecture in the West Country.

Bath is a city in the ceremonial county of Somerset in South West England situated 97 miles west of London. The city was first established as a spa by the Romans sometime around 60 AD. In this video I visit the Roman Bath, the Bath Abbey, walk around town and look out onto the River Avon on a beautiful autumn day.

The City of Bath 4k Drone
The City of Bath and the beautiful countryside which surrounds it have been described as one of England’s most beautiful places to visit.
The city was founded, among surrounding hills, in the valley of the River Avon around naturally occurring hot springs where the Romans built baths and a temple, giving it the name Aquae Sulis.
As City of Bath the city became a World Heritage Site in 1987.
A city which is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, making it the ideal city break destination and Bath is a World Heritage City (UNESCO), featuring the famous Roman Baths & Pump Room and simply stunning Georgian period architecture. The history of the city came across different periods starting from the Roman era.
I hope you enjoy the video!

Bath, Somerset is a beautiful quaint city in the South West of the UK. It's one of my closest cities to my hometown and I always enjoy visiting!
This was my first time here since being back in the UK following all the travels I've done for the past 2 years. We spent a couple of hours just wandering the streets and getting a feel for the place. The lighting wasn't really on our side, so we'll definitely be making an effort to return soon. Either way, it was enjoyable for us, and I feel there's still content to enjoy with this vlog!

BATH CITY ENGLAND
BATH CITY ENGLAND
Bath, UK Roman Baths Museum
The most fascinating and important attraction in England's city of Bath are the Roman baths, ancient ruins from 2000 years ago. The center of Bath was built on top of the original Roman baths on the site of a natural hot spring, an ancient geological feature that has been bubbling for millennia. A comprehensive museum has been built on the site incorporating many of the original Roman structures along with thousands of artifacts in a fascinating display that reveals how very civilized they were 2000 years ago. The museum's main feature is the large bathing pool which originally had a roof but now has an outdoor terrace that you can walk all the way around. Be sure to enjoy the different angles looking into the pool across the rooftops of the city and at the tower of the adjacent Bath Abbey.
