Iron Age Causeway by Kayak - Green Island, Poole Harbour, Dorset
Four paddlers set out with the fast flowing ebb tide and made it to Brownsea in what seemed like record time - just 20 minutes from Hamworthy. Sticking to the marked channels was clearly the most sensible route and by courtesy of the tide we arrived with a good 35-40 minutes to explore as the causeway emerged from the surface. On this visit three distinct sections appeared and on previous trips having only previously seen one, clearly the high pressure over the area helped keep the tide to the promised low of -0.2m.
The return trip was awesome with greys, golds, pale yellows, mauves and blues growing darker as the twilight deepened - made even more magical by the quiet domed mudflats, the still water before the incoming tide and large numbers of birds squawking in the (otherwise) silence. A slight wind backed from its initial SW to very nearly East and helped us on our way back. 7.1 miles.

Sailing the Salty Sea by St Dogmaels in our Outrigger Sailing Canoe.wmv
A lovely Day test sailing our sailing Canoe on the River Teifi and out to sea off Poppit Sands. Really impressed how well she sails and how fast she was in very light airs. Lets hope we catch a fish next time and are brave enough to explore further along the coastline of Pembrokeshire from Poppit Sands. Wish there had been a bit more wind-probably should have been paragliding , but we had a fantastic day anyway-we were out on her for 4.5 hours!!

Kayaks Hamworthy wind and waves
Setting off from Hamworthy - Poole Harbour - UK, all looks calm. As soon as we are out in the middle of the Harbour we are hit by large waves and head on 15mph winds. We made it to Brownsea Island but it was trick coming back.
The Cannibal Generals of Liberia
Full length now on YouTube:
Cannibalism, murder and rape are just a part of everyday life in certain regions of Liberia. Despite the United Nation's eventual intervention, most of this country's young people continue to live in abject poverty, surrounded by filth, drug addiction, and teenage prostitution. In 2009, we went to Liberia to rummage through the messy remains of a country ravaged by 14 years of civil war.
UPDATE: Charles G. Taylor, former President of Liberia and warlord, has been convicted by an international tribunal of war crimes and crimes against humanity, including rape, murder, and the use of child soldiers. He is the first head of state to be found guilty by an international court since the Nuremberg trials.

Durdle Door (sometimes written Durdle Dor) is a natural limestone arch on the Jurassic Coast near Lulworth in Dorset, England.[1] It is privately owned by the Welds,[2] a family who owns 12,000 acres (50 km2) in Dorset in the name of the Lulworth Estate.[3] It is open to the public. The name Durdle is derived from the Old English 'thirl' meaning bore or drill. More info:
