Traveling in China
A journey from Yangshuo to Shenzhen, in pictures and music. The pictures are mine, the music is by Luna Lee, you can find her channel here:
She does an amazing mix of Western rock classics and Korean instrumentation, which seemed to fit very well with a trip through an ultra-modern Chinese city.
Since I've been asked for a commentary, here is a rough guide to what you are going to see:
1) The bus station at Yangshuo (Guanxi province)
2) A ride on the bus to Yangshuo rail station (actually an hour's ride away), and a view of the station and the enormous waiting room
3) Opening dried noodle dinner for something to eat!
4) The train enters Yangshuo station, then the ride through the countryside... little by little, the countryside changes to a more urban environment until we arrive at the enormous station of Guangzhounan
5) Views of Shenzhen (Guandong province, just across the border from Hong Kong)
6) A park in the middle of the city, with some guys playing traditional Chinese music
7) Move through the city to Huaqianqbei, district housing the world's biggest market for electronic components: if you want to source your next prototype, this is the place to come. I've concentrated on LEDs, which is the most visually exciting
8) Back to the street, three girls dancing to advertise washing machines: weird!
9) Central Park in Shenzhen, with a view over the town hall. The statue is Deng Tsiao Ping, probably the single man most responsible for Shenzhen's conversion from small fishing village to electronics mega-city in a few decades.
10) Tucked away behind a florists, an exhibition of bonsai trees...
11) As I left to take the train back, I saw a group of ladies practicing Tai Chi ball
12) A building with an amazing light display: look carefully, and you'll see fishes, birds, a girl on a bicycle
13) Back to cycling through the countryside around Yangshuo

Beyond the hands: The Tibetan guardians of ethnic culture
The mountains were very high, yet I was as insignificant as sheep dung – this is how Pudawa describes his social status as a blacksmith in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region many moons ago.The 57-year-old man is a maker of Tibetan Lhatse knives, renowned for their sharp blades and fine handmade artistry. His family has been making them for more than a century. With social development, the negative attitude towards blacksmiths slowly disappeared as the Tibetan hierarchical system vanished.

Leshan, biggest Buddha of the world - China Travel Channel
The Giant Buddha of Leshan lies at the confluence of Min Jang, Dadu and Qingyi near the city of Leshan approx. 130 km south of Chengdu in the province of Sichuan. Among the sights of the 1,300 year-old city of Leshan are the Lingyun Temple and Wuyou Temple, but Leshan became famous for the 71 m high Buddha statue.
The sedentary Buddha of Leshan is carved out of a cliff face above the river, overlooking the Emei Shan, one of the four sacred Buddhistic mountains in China. It is the biggest Buddha statue in the world. Only the head of the Buddha statue is 15 meters high and 10 meters wide. The nose is 5.6 m long and the Chinese say that a group of card players will comfortably fit in the auricles of the 7 meter long ears.
The Buddha was set up during the Tang Dynasty. In the year 713, the Chinese monk Haitong started with the construction of the Buddha statue. After his death, his disciples completed the statue after 90 years, in 803.
Since 1982, the Giant Buddha of Leshan is on the list of Major National Historical and Cultural Sites in China. In 1996, the Buddha together with the 37 km remote Mount Emei Scenic Area, was added to the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

These frames werd taken from a bus in Pokhara. In Nepal the front seat for passengers is practically next to the driver's, it's OK to bring your chicken or even your goat and if you don't like that, or the bus is simply to full to fit one other person inside, there's always room on the roof for two dozen more passengers. - Visit
