In deze video worden we gealarmeerd voor een beknelling van een persoon tussen een sluisdeur. We hadden op het moment van de melding geen idee wat we aan konden treffen. Omdat we enkele weken hiervoor het jongetje met zijn voet tussen de sluisdeur hadden meegemaakt, was ons beeld ook zoiets. Alleen toen we eenmaal ter plaatste waren was dat toch echt anders. KIJK MEE.

In this video we take you to an accident with someone else in the vehicle.
To remove the victim from the vehicle, it was agreed with the ambulance personnel that the roof had to be removed. In this way we have created the most space for both the victim and the caregivers. You can see how this works in this video.

14th December 1287: St Lucia's Flood kills over 50,000 people in the Netherlands
Although prone to flooding, the fertile areas close to the sea had attracted many settlers by the 10th century and, by the turn of the millennium, the population began to increase rapidly.
The construction of dikes to hold back the sea consequently became an important part of life in the area. Draining the peat bogs that were left behind provided arable land to feed the growing population, but it also made the ground sink by up to a metre every century.
On 14 December 1287, the day after St. Lucia’s Day, an extreme low pressure system coincided with high tide in the North Sea to cause a huge storm surge that rose far above the usual sea level. The waves battered the dikes built to defend the north and northwestern part of the Netherlands, and poured onto the land below. Numerous villages were destroyed, and records indicate that at least 50,000 people lost their lives.
Meanwhile the floodwaters transformed a shallow freshwater lake into the salty Zuiderzee and created direct sea access to what was then the village of Amsterdam. The flood was therefore directly responsible for the development of one of the world’s leading port cities.
The English coastline was also severely affected by the storm. Although the number of casualties was considerably lower, other effects were just as significant. Combined with another huge flood that had struck southern England in February numerous ports declined after being silted up, while new ones soon appeared.

The hands of Maarten Baas' Schiphol clock are drawn on in real time
Dutch designer Maarten Baas's giant Real Time Schiphol timepiece replaces traditional clock hands with a 12-hour-long video performance (+ movie).
The three-metre-high clock has been installed in Amsterdam's Schiphol airport and features a film showing Baas drawing and redrawing the clock's hands with a roller and paint.
Intended to portray a hyper-realistic representation of time, the video took exactly 12 hours to film and will take as long to watch in its entirety.
Baas wore blue overalls for the film, in a reference to the uniforms of the many staff responsible for cleaning the airport.
The timepiece is housed in a stainless steel box, attached to a ladder to enable this imaginary man in his blue overalls to enter the clock.
He has a red bucket and a yellow cleaning cloth and he is cleaning up after the hands of time, after which he creates a new minute, every time again, added the designer.
The clock is an addition to Baas' Real Time series, which dates back to 2009. It so far includes a similarly oversized clock face with hands made from rubbish being moved by sweepers, and a grandfather clock with a video loop in place of a face.
Real Time is a term that is used in the film industry, said the designer, who recently unveiled plans for a tree-grown armchair and a giant logo that would change colour according to the seasons.
It means that the duration of a scene portrays exactly the same time it took to film it. I play with that concept in my Real Time clocks by showing videos where the hands of time are literally moved in real time.

Bijzondere taferelen vorige week op De Trap bij Rotterdam Centraal. In de zoektocht naar een geschikte locatie voor opnames in kader van het 15-jarig bestaan kwam vocal popgroep Re-flax uit Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht toevallig uit bij de megatrap. Het leverde een aparte videoclip op.Op de jubileumconcerten in oktober is het beroemde 'Stairway to Heaven' van Led Zeppelin één van de nummers die Re-flax ten gehore brengt. Tijdens het optreden wil de popgroep op een groot scherm in de achtergrond fraaie beelden laten zien."Toevallig waren ze net bezig met het bouwen van De Trap. We kregen meteen het idee om daar iets mee te doen", zegt songcoach Jeffrey van der Vegt, die al vanaf het begin is betrokken bij de groep.AubadeDe organisatie van 'Rotterdam viert de stad!' stond direct positief tegenover het idee van de muzikale Ambachters, maar eiste wel een tegenprestatie. "Om het wachtende publiek te vermaken hebben we een aantal nummers gezongen. Een soort aubade eigenlijk. Mensen die langsliepen bleven staan. We hebben er iets moois van gemaakt.""Toevallig was het die ochtend ook erg mistig en dat paste goed bij de sfeer van het lied. We zijn volledig in het wit en komen van bovenaf naar beneden lopen. Een soort waterval van mensen. Het was een bijzondere ervaring om dit soort muziek te zingen met een uitzicht over heel Rotterdam", aldus Van der Vegt.Vocal popgroep Re-flax viert dit jaar het 15-jarig jubileum. Ter gelegenheid van de verjaardag staan op 22 en 23 oktober shows gepland in het theater van Cultureel Centrum Cascade in Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht.

Dutch flashmob arrive at shopping mall on horses
A 30-strong flashmob turn up at a shopping centre in Holland, arriving on horses and abseiling from ropes to reconstruct a Rembrandt painting. Unsuspecting shoppers in Breda were treated to the scene as actors in seventeenth century outfits reconstructed the painting, The Night Watch. The stunt took place to promote the re-opening of the famous Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, which has undergone an extensive restoration program since 2003. Report by Sophie Foster.

Early hardcore, Gabba or Gabber (/ˈɡæbər/; from Dutch: [ˈxɑbər]) is a style of electronic music and a subgenre of hardcore. Gabber is an Amsterdam slang word of Bargoens and Yiddish origin (cf. chaver) that means mate, buddy, pal or friend.
Although a house variant from Detroit reached Amsterdam in the late 1980s, it was the producers and DJs from Rotterdam who evolved it into a harder house variant which is today known as Gabber.
The specific sound of Rotterdam was also created as a reaction to the house scene of Amsterdam which was seen as snobby and pretentious. Though house tracks from Frankfurt's Marc Acardipane were quite similar to the Rotterdam style, it was the popularity of this music in the Netherlands which made Rotterdam the cradle of early hardcore. The essence of the early hardcore sound is a distorted bass drum sound, overdriven to the point where it becomes clipped into a distorted square wave and makes a recognizably melodic tone.
Often the Roland Alpha Juno or the kick from a Roland TR-909 was used to create this sound. Early hardcore tracks typically include samples and synthesised melodies with the typical tempo ranging from 180 to 220 bpm. Drugs and profanity are common themes in early hardcore, perceptible through its samples and lyrics, often screamed, pitch shifted, or distorted.
Early hardcore was popular in many countries, including the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, and Italy. In the late 1990s, the early hardcore became less popular than the Hardstyle. After surviving underground for a number of years, in 2002 the style reappeared in the Netherlands in a new form, the mainstream hardcore. The sound becomes more mature, darker, and industrial and derives.
