This is Day 1 of the Round the World for Food video series with Star Alliance:
I started off at home in Bangkok. One of the parts of traveling as a blogger and vlogger includes lots of equipment. I try to keep my video gear to a minimum so that I have maximum flexibility and mobility, but I still need quite a lot of gear. However, it doesn't matter if I travel for 1 year or 1 day, I’ll need about the same equipment.

After having dinner at home in Bangkok, we took a taxi to Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok. Luckily traffic wasn’t too bad and we arrived to the airport a little while after 7 pm.
For our first leg of the trip we flew with Air India from Bangkok to Mumbai. One of the best parts about this round the world trip is that Star Alliance sponsored us not only for the flights, but for business class flights, and so for this entire trip we’ll be flying on business class.
Air India was quite nice and as soon as we got in the air it was time for dinner. There are both veg and non-veg meal options on Air India, and I chose non-veg, which for dinner happened to be Indian prawns curry, which was served with rice, chapati, daal makhani and a few other side dishes. The prawns curry on Air India was fantastic. It wasn’t too oily or buttery and it had great flavor with a nice cardamom spice to it.
The flight from Bangkok to Mumbai on Air India was about four hours, and both my wife Ying and I fully enjoyed our seats and the relaxation. We landed at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport at almost midnight.
Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport is the main airport in Mumbai. From there, we took a prepaid taxi to South Mumbai, to an area of Mumbai called Colaba. I didn’t know this at the time, but you can choose to take an AC taxi or a non-AC. I didn’t think there would be such a big price difference, but the AC taxi to Colaba cost 950 INR ($14.21), while I think the non-AC would have been about half the price.
I had pre-booked The Gordon House Hotel in Mumbai.

My Daily Life in the SLUMS OF MUMBAI (Life-Changing 5 Days)
Learn how I started traveling full-time at 19:
Catch me and meet me during my travels:
Free $34 AirBnb credit for your next trip:
Two and a half years ago, during my first visit in India, I spent 2 days walking all around the slums of Mumbai. Even though I got to learn quite a bit about the life in the slums, I didn’t have the chance to live inside the slums and because of that I left with more questions than answers.
So now that I came back to India for the second time, I decided to go back to Mumbai and spend five days living in Dharavi, which is one of the largest slums in the world.
This experience opened my eyes in ways I couldn’t have imagined, because I got to spend so much time with the local people, who completely transformed my outlook on what their lives were like.
You see, as most outsiders, I had a very distorted view of the people of the slums. We grow up hearing stories about them dying on the streets, no one being able to read and write, kids having to sleep surrounded by flesh-eating rats and so on.
There are, of course, tons of problems that need to be addressed, especially when it comes to sanitation. For example, sources say that in Dharavi there is an average of 1 toilet for a thousand people. Also, livestock generally lives in the same quarters with people and that, combined with the fact that the local water sources lack cleaning facilities, sometimes causes the spread of contagious diseases.
However, people there are just like everywhere else. They have their own dreams, goals, careers, thoughts and emotions. They are in no way different from the rest of us.
It doesn’t matter where we come from. We are all equal. Some of us are born with golden spoons in our mouths, others are not. But that doesn’t define us. What defines us is our pursuit of happiness, our compassion for others and our ability to adapt to whatever circumstances we’re in and make the best of them.

India's FOOD Temple! THE HOLIEST FOOD IN THE WORLD ????
India has a food temple where the Brahmin priests prepare food from age-old recipes in earthen pots over wood fires. They then bless the food and sell it at a market attached to the temple (Ananta Vasudev Mandir).
I'll take you behind the scenes of Ananta Basudev Mandir temples in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha as the priests cook the food (prasad). Then we'll go to the temple's food market and buy the blessed food from the priests and try it out! There are 11 dishes for me to try.
Here's what I ate at India's Food Temple:
Mitha Dali (Sweet Lentils)
Potolo Channa Masala (Pointed Gourd & Chickpeas)
Dalma (Lentil & Vegetables)
Khatta (Tamarind & Dates Chutney)
Saaga (Spinich)
Sarson Ka Saaf Makke Di Roti
Besara (Vegetables & Mustard)
Mohura
Pachidi (Coconut & Fruit Raita)
Kheer (Sweet Rice with Milk)

Indian Girl in Vegas | Travel Vlog | Summer 2017 | Travel Guide | Vegas Buffet
This video is a travel vlog for Las Vegas day 2 - we visited Las Vegas on the summer of 2017, and spent 2 nights there. I thought of documenting everything - the walk by the Vegas strip is enough to spend 2 nights there.
Link to vlog for Day 1 -
On day 2 we started our day with a brunch buffet at the Wicked Spoon, when I stuffed myself with 7 desserts :P It was followed by a visit to Venetian which has the best artificial canals, and some other properties on the strip. In the evening we went to the Container Park and the Fremont street, which was a super lively street with street performances, lights, music, etc.
This trip to Vegas was a part of our 15 day trip on the west coast and Hawaii. I will post the vlog for Grand Canyon on Sep 6, Wednesday, so please stay tuned for that as well.
Please subscribe if you like it, and to get notified of the next few vlogs! :)

India to Canada flying with British Airways travel vlog (Kolkata - Mumbai - London - Toronto)
Just for our last day in India as we leave from India to Canada from Kolkata to Toronto via Mumbai and London with British Airways in this travel vlog. Having been on the road for 9 consecutive months we decided to end our travels in Asia a bit early (originally we had allotted time for travel in Japan, Vietnam, China, Indonesia and the Philippines) after feeling a little worn out and homesick. Audrey's parents got a new pet (a German Shepherd puppy) recently and we excited to meet him (Togo). This was one heck of a marathon trip as we connected through four major cities with plenty of waiting time in between each connecting flight. You'll notice we were absolute pigs in this video eating every chance we got and probably consuming double or triple the amount of calories we'd normally have in a similar time period. LOL, what can I say other than food kept us partially sane during for such a long trip.

India to Canada flying with British Airways travel vlog (Kolkata - Mumbai - London - Toronto) travel video transcript:
Well I think you can guess where we are. Back at the airport. Back at the airport. So yeah, this is it for us in India. We have got a lot flights ahead of us. Why don't you tell us about those.
Well okay. Haha.
So initially we were thinking of traveling around Asia a little bit longer. Yeah. But honestly it has been like seven or eight months. No, it has been longer. It has been closer to nine I think. Yeah.
Anyways, it has been a long time and we're feeling a little bit tired. We're missing family, we also want to visit our pets. So we're heading back to Canada. Yeah, and there is a new addition to Audrey's family.
Yeah, so we have a German Shepherd. It is kind of sad but my two cats and my dog past away in the last year. In the last few months. Yeah.
So we'll be meeting my German Shepard Togo. My pup brother. Togo. I already call him Wolfie. He looks like a little wolf. Yeah, he is really cute. We can't wait to meet him for the 1st time.
So first things first we're at the Food Boulevard inside the airport and we're going to go get some food because we didn't have a very big breakfast. And I'm hungry and Sam is hungry and the food looks good here.
Sam was kind enough to go get me food and I'm having some stir-fried noodles with vegetables. What you got looks really good as well.
I know. What did you get?
Haha.
Sneak peak over here. I got cheese dosa and one of my favorite Indian desserts - Jalebi.
So and that is not all. You went to another little stand for Momos.
Status update. We're going to our gate and we should be boarding in an hour and then we'll be in Mumbai.
So I don't even remember when I was last in India. It was probably like six, seven or eight years ago but I do remember that Mumbai Airport did not look like this. Like it is swanky. They've redecorated and renovated and it is really pretty.
Heading over to the T Dot. Last leg. Final. Three of three. Almost there.
Oh my goodness we are here. We are out. We arrived in Toronto probably like two hours ago bu we had to sit on the plane because someone was sick and paramedics had to come on and then the immigration line was really long. We're here. There is Sam. My sister picked me up. We're on our way home and we're going to meet my dog. Well not my dog. My Dad's dog. My family dog. Ahh. Togo. Anyways it has been a very long video. Three flights over the course of like two days. So we're going to say goodbye. Goodbye everyone. Now it is time to meet Wolfie. Wolfie that is my name. Hahaha. That is not his name. It is Togo. Haha bye.
Say hi Togo. Hello to the world. I'm a cute puppy. Look this way Togo. Hi. Hello. I'm a cute puppy.
Togo. Togo are you being camera shy all of a sudden. Venica. Togo. Oh Togo.

INDIA Joins PAKISTAN | Street Food Tour | Food without Borders | Delhi Karachi Food Street
Collaborating with our friend Anubhav Sapra from Delhi Food Walks was really fun with whom we went 71 years back in time and experienced the shared history that Indian and Pakistani cuisine have. From finding the same popular dishes to family members running restaurants on both sides of the border we came to find both our countries having the same culture and cuisine, showing the bond of love that people on both sides share. This experience made us realize that we are more alike than we are portrayed.

Delhi University Street Food & Campus Tour (Indian Student Life & Food) #RockEats
In this Indian street food tour, we hit the streets of Delhi University's North Campus to eat like a student and find out a bit about student life in India. My sister-in-law Aastha/Alia/Aasman, a North Campus student, joins me on this food tour around the campus.
At Delhi University's North Campus, you can find an amazing selection of Indian foods. From the street food of the campus lanes to the fancy cafes of Hudson lane. And the best thing is, everything is priced for students - cheap!
We eat Special Maggi Noodles, Bhel Puri, Kathi Roll, and Momos around Ramjas College, Hindu College, and the Kamla Nagar market. We also explore some campuses and end in the beautiful Kamla Nehru Ridge forest. We discuss what it's like living at a hostel, what the rules are for girls at a hostel, and students that have studied at North Campus - including Shah Rukh Khan!
If you're a foodie, I highly recommend you visit North Campus, Kamla Nagar, and nearby Hudson lane to taste all the Indian street snacks there. And explore some of the University Campuses while you're at it. It's an awesome place to hang out in Delhi.

Palak Paneer (पालक पनीर) at Standard's Punjabi Khana in Delhi, India
I'll admit, Palak Paneer (पालक पनीर) may not be the most attractive Indian dish, but it sure tastes delicious. More information here -
There are countless restaurants to eat at in Delhi, India, but sometimes it's nice to just stumble into popular restaurants. When you see a big crown hanging out around a parking lot or street side, most of the time you can be assured they are serving something delicious. One day when I was in Delhi, India, I had to run some errands around Nehru Place, one of the main IT shopping hubs of the city. While strolling around, we noticed a restaurants called Standard's Punjabi Khana that was serving a ton of people lunch. The crowd was huge, and I immediately felt a need to eat whatever what being served.
The mostly Punjabi food North Indian cuisine served at Standard's includes palak paneer (पालक पनीर), shahi paneer, dal makhani, and a few other vegetarian dishes. I chose the palak paneer, which is a thick puree of spinach that's simmered along with spices and lots of ghee. It's basically a spinach gravy or curry sauce. Paneer is a popular form of cheese that tastes somewhere between cottage cheese and tofu - and it's extremely delicious. People that eat vegetarian Indian food often eat paneer cheese quite frequently as a source of fat and protein. Anyway, as soon as I ordered my single plate of food, the vendor quickly scooped me up a fresh plate of rice topped with a huge spoon or the curry and a massive chunk of paneer cheese. It was then self service to grab my own toppings of red onions and a small fresh salad of red onions and radishes and chillies. Overall, it wasn't the best palak paneer (पालक पनीर) that I've ever had, but I will say that it was quite good and overall it was very cheap. Perhaps there were so many people there because the food was relatively good and the full meals (at 45 - 55 Indian Rupees) were quite affordable.
Though my entire palak paneer meal at Standard's Punjabi Khana in Delhi was fully vegetarian, it wasn't light by any stretch of the imagination. It was heavy and I nearly felt the need to immediately take a nap after finishing my last bite of the meal. Don't go out of your way to eat here, but if you're in the area and looking for some decent and cheap Indian Delhi street food, check it out!

Indian Street Food in Kolkata - GHUGNI CHAAT (Yellow Peas with Indian Spices)
This was one of my personal favorite Indian street food dishes in Kolkata, India. It's amazing!
Few things are more beautifully displayed on the streets of Kolkata, India, than a dish known as Ghugni Chaat. It's bright yellow sculpture of yellow peas that sit on a podium while slowly simmering for hour upon hour. If the bright yellowness doesn't catch you attention, the bright red tomatoes, chilies, and cilantro will surely demand your attention.
The ghugni chaat is easy to order, you simply put of your finger and ask for a portion. The vendor then proceeds to grab a leaf bowl, put in a big spoon of piping hot yellow peas, slash in a squeeze of lime, mix some fresh onions, tomatoes and cilantro in, and add salt and chili powder for even more flavoring. He then presents to you a bowl of ghugni chaat (pretty cool name too).
I ate ghugni chaat numerous times in Kolkata, India, in the New Market area. Here you'll find a tantalizing variety of Indian street food that's cheap and tasty. This place of the dish costs just 10 Rupees and you'll definitely love it!

Don't stop at spicy Indian curry, though – there are many amazing dishes when it comes to Indian cuisine. Tandoori chicken, naan, aloo, vindaloo, samosas – with countless regions comprising the Indian Subcontinent, the variety of food on offer will make your head spin.
When tasting Indian food, don't make it a one shot deal, as it is impossible to get a handle on what Indian cuisine by eating at a single restauarnt.
Make sure you get it as hot as the locals
If you are going to try Indian food taste test and you aren't Indian, there's a good chance the wait staff will fill the cooks in on this fact. Knowing this, they will ease up on the spice, giving you less of an authentic experience.
This happens a lot when Americans try Indian food or when Canadians try Indian food, so if you want to try real Indian food, so you need to be aware of this fact.
While a pompodon isn't supposed to be spicy, many other dishes should make you feel the heat when you eat them during an Indian food taste test.
When the waiter/waitress takes your order, make it abundantly clear you are trying Indian cuisine in an authentic manner.
When the average Canadian taste test Indian food, there is a lot of hesitance on the part of the restaurant to make the food with a 'normal' level of spiciness, as this can have a negative effect on their rating on sites like Yelp and Urban Spoon.
Be insistent on this matter, though, and they will apply the same amount of spice they would when making an Indian curry for a fellow citizen.
While this level of heat might be a shock to you at first, this is you will learn how Indian food taste rather than being fooled like all the others who are trying Indian food for the first time.
Sample meals from across the Indian Subcontinent
As mentioned earlier, Indian cuisine varies from north to south, west to east. For example, Pubjabi food differs a great deal from Goan food.
Before you sit down for your India food taste test, get ideas from sources such as Wikipedia (tip: Google 'Indian cuisine') and Indian friends, and then book reservations at local restaurants who specialize in specific types of Indian food.
Throughout your journey, you might end up having spicy curry from the state of Odisha, tandoori chicken of Punjab, or a plate of thali from Rajasthan.
At the end of your Indian food taste test foreigners, you will appreciate one of the world's greatest cuisines in the way locals experience it everyday.

We started our Indian street food tour in Kolkata by warming up with a nice Indian breakfast, right on the street corner. You can order samosas, potato curry chickpea sabzi, jalebi, and hot tea as well. All of these go so well in the morning and wake you up and get you ready to start your day.
After that amazing Indian street breakfast, we went to try perhaps the most beautiful and photogenic Indian street food lunch stall I've ever seen. It really was like walking up to CURRY HEAVEN! There were so many delicious curries to choose from, and there was a huge pot of CHICKEN biryani right on the street. The Chicken looked so tender and you could see the steam and all the juices were infused into the basmati rice. You could also smell the cardamom in the biryani!
After that life changing Indian curry meal, we made our way to try a bunch more delicious street foods. There were so many to choose from!
