Here’s our Bahrain vlog. Hope it helps someone out there who is interested in visiting Bahrain. There is so much more you can do but here are a few things that may give you an idea. There is so much history in Bahrain I wish we could have explored more but luckily for us we are only a 40 minute drive away so I definitely can’t wait to explore more in the future of such a historical place. If you know any other cool places to visit in Bahrain let me know.

40 BD for 2 nights. In my opinion it’s the best hotel to stay in for families in the Manama area if you’re tight on budget, it’s super clean, affordable and away from the Juffair nightclub area.

The Tree of Life in Bahrain is 400 years old that is over A 9.75 meters hight tree . It is on a hill in a barren area of the Arabian Desert, 2 kilometers from Jebel Dukhan, the highest point in Bahrain, and 40 kilometers from Manama, the nearest city. The tree is abundantly covered in green leaves.

ബഹ്റൈനിലെ ജബൽ ദുക്കാൻ പ്രദേശത്ത് നിന്ന് രണ്ട് കിലോമീറ്റർ (1.2 മൈൽ) ദൂരെയുള്ള മരുഭൂമിയിലാണ് ജീവന്റെ മരം (Tree of Life, Shajarat-al-Hayat) എന്ന വിശേഷണമുള്ള പ്രോസൊപിസ് സിനറാറിയ (Prosopis cineraria) [1] എന്ന മരം നിൽക്കുന്നത്. 9.75 മീറ്റർ (32 അടി) ഉയരമുള്ള ഈ മരം 500 വർഷം പഴക്കവും 7.6 മീറ്റർ (25 അടി) ഉയരമുള്ള മൺക്കുനയിലാണ് നിൽക്കുന്നത്. [2]
ഈ പ്രദേശത്ത് വളരുന്ന വളരെ വലിയ മരമെന്ന നിലയിലും 400 വർഷത്തെ പഴക്കമുള്ള മരമെന്ന നിലയിലും വളരെയധികം സഞ്ചാരികളെ ആകർഷിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ഒരു വർഷം ഏകദേശം 50,000 സഞ്ചാരികൾ ഇവിടെ വരുന്നുണ്ടെന്നാണ് കണക്കാക്കുന്നത്.
ഗോത്രസംസ്കാരത്തിന്റെ ആചാരങ്ങൾ ഈ മരത്തിനോട് ചേർന്ന് നടത്തപ്പെട്ടതായി കരുതപ്പെടുന്നുണ്ട്. 2010 ഓക്ടോബറിൽ പുരാവസ്തുശാസ്ത്രഞ്ജർ ഈ മരത്തിന്റെ സമീപപ്രദേശത്ത് ഖനനം നടത്തി കളിമൺ പാത്രങ്ങളും മറ്റും കണ്ടെത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. [2] അതിൽ പലതും ഡിൽമൻ സംസ്കാരത്തിന്റെയത്ര പഴക്കമുള്ളതായി കണക്കാക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.
വരണ്ട കാലാവസ്ഥയിലും വളരുന്ന പ്രോസൊപിസ് മരങ്ങളുടെ വേരുകൾ വളരെയധികം ആഴ്ന്നിറങ്ങുന്നതാണ്.
എൽ.എ. സ്റ്റോറി (L.A. Story) എന്ന സിനിമയിൽ ഈ മരം സൂചിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

The Tree of Life (Shajarat-al-Hayat) in Bahrain is a 9.75 meters (32 feet) high Prosopis cineraria tree that is over 400 years old. It is on a hill in a barren area of the Arabian Desert, 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) from Jebel Dukhan, the highest point in Bahrain, and 40 kilometers from Manama, the nearest city.
The tree is abundantly covered in green leaves. Due to its age and the fact that it is the only major tree growing in the area, the tree is a local tourist attraction and is visited by approximately 65,000 people every year. The yellow resin is used to make candles, aromatics and gum; the beans are processed into meal, jam, and wine.
It is not certain how the tree survives. Bahrain has little to no rain throughout the year. Its roots are 50 meters deep, which may be enough to reach the water source. Others say the tree has learned to extract moisture from grains of sand. Some assert that the tree is protected by Enki, a god of water in Babylonian and Sumerian religion. Others claim that the tree is standing in what was once the Garden of Eden, and so has a more mystical source of water.
In 2009, the tree was nominated to be on the New7Wonders of Nature list, but it did not finish on the list.
In October 2010, archaeologists unearthed 500-year-old pottery and other artefacts in the vicinity of the tree. A soil and dendrochronology analysis conducted in the 1990s concluded that the tree was an Acacia planted in 1582.
The tree was mentioned in the 1991 film L.A. Story, where Steve Martin calls it one of the most mystical places on earth.
