Places to see in ( Llandudno - UK )
Llandudno is a seaside resort, town and community in Conwy County Borough, Wales, located on the Creuddyn peninsula, which protrudes into the Irish Sea. Llandudno name is derived from its patron saint, Saint Tudno.
Llandudno, Queen of the Welsh Resorts, a title first applied as early as 1864, Llandudno is now the largest seaside resort in Wales. Historically a part of Caernarfonshire, Llandudno was formerly in the district of Aberconwy within Gwynedd.
Llandudno is just off the North Wales Coast railway line which was opened as the Chester and Holyhead Railway in 1848. It became part of the London and North Western Railway in 1859, and part of the London, Midland and Scottish Railway in 1923. Llandudno was specifically built as a mid-Victorian era holiday destination and is served by a branch railway line opened in 1858 from Llandudno Junction with stations at Deganwy and Llandudno.
Llandudno is unique within the United Kingdom in that its lifeboat station is located inland, allowing it to launch with equal facility from either the West Shore or the North Shore as needed. Llandudno's active volunteer crews are called out more than ever with the rapidly increasing numbers of small pleasure craft sailing in coastal waters. The Llandudno Lifeboat is normally on display on the promenade every Sunday and bank holiday Monday from May until October. In 2014 a planning application was submitted for a new Lifeboat station, with a larger boat, to be built close to the paddling pool on North Shore.

Liam Gallagher brands trophy hunters 'spoilt brats' as he backs Mirror campaign
A host of stars are backing the Daily Mirror’s battle to ban trophy hunting. Sir David Jason, Liam Gallagher, Bill Bailey, Peter Shilton, David Gower and Sir Ranulph Fiennes are supporting us. Rock star Liam said trophy hunters “murder animals for a laugh”, and actor Sir David branded the killings “cruel”. Comic Bill said: “We must end this grotesque barbarism.” The Government is inviting the public to have their say on whether importing hunting trophies should be banned. The celebrities are backing the Mirror’s campaign to outlaw the vile hobby and to ban hunters from bringing their sick souvenirs back to Britain. Former Oasis frontman Liam, 47, said: “Trophy hunters are spoilt little brats. Let’s get it banned... “What century are we living in? How can we call ourselves a civilisation if we think murdering animals for a laugh is OK?” Only Fools and Horses star Sir David, 79, said: “I cannot understand what pleasure someone can get from killing an animal for kicks. “It seems we are condemning wildlife to not just a cruel death but also to senseless extinction. “We should do everything we can to persuade the Government to act swiftly.” Boris Johnson pledged in September to ban the import of hunting trophies. A government consultation is accepting evidence until January 25. A survey found 86% of the public want a ban on blood sport trophy hunting. England football legend Peter Shilton urged people to back the fight to end “this disgusting so-called sport”. Peter, 70, said: “There is no justification for trophy hunting. “There is even less justification for killing endangered wildlife for entertainment. I am totally against trophy hunting.” Records show about 2,500 “trophies” – including parts from 560 elephants – were shipped to the UK between 2008 and 2017. Some were captive-bred in South Africa’s notorious “canned hunting” farms where they have little or no chance of escape. Explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes, 75, said: “Trophy hunters and serial killers have a lot in common. It’s time the law dealt with them in the same way... Jail terms should be on the table.” Comic Bill Bailey said: “I’m appalled by all forms of hunting, but trophy hunting is the lowest of the low.” He called those who do it “sadists”. Bill, 55, said: “We need a blanket ban to put an end to this grotesque barbarism.” He added it is “staggering” people are allowed to come to Britain to shoot animals and take their trophies home. Ex-England cricket captain David Gower, 62, said: “Unregulated trophy hunting adds extra pressure to vulnerable species. It is unethical and unnecessary.” Many hunters show off their kills in sickening photos. It includes Brittany Longoria, from the US, who posed in 2018 alongside a dead leopard in Namibia. We are pushing for ban The Daily Mirror has been calling for an end to the barbaric practice of trophy hunting since we launched a campaign in July. We are demanding the Government put an immediate ban on the impor

Porsche Club GB (North East region) - Easter Monday 2017
Chris & Lynn organised a great drive out with lots of amazing roads and a couple of excellent pit-stops for coffee and cake! An excellent turn out; great cars and lovely people. I clocked over 200 miles by the time I got home; loved every second! Where to next???
Bonfire Night Came Early
Just got back from my daughter's - most of her 90 acre property is on fire !
A huge bushfire out at Myola (over 10 miles away) jumped right across the River Barron yesterday
and wiped out the neighbour's property.
Today it got on to Tach's land and the Rural Fire Brigade
started a few fires to backburn and then buggered off up the road
leaving BenJ and Dennis to fight the thing on their own !
The whole house was surrounded at one stage with a 2 mile wall of fire.
Luckily the house is untouched (so far), and the horses are safe.
Unfortunately the outdoor dunny got burned.
Driving back the fire front was over 5 miles long.
