Vietnam Motorcycle Trip w/ Easy Rider (Nha Trang to Da Lat) - Nick Supapol
We took a 2-day motorcycle tour from Nha Trang to Da Lat with an overnight stay in Lak Lake.
The trip was phenomenal. Our guides were fantastic - both were very fun, friendly and informative. They made the ride feel safe for both myself (an inexperienced rider) and my friend (who is an experienced rider). One was leading the pack, while the other ensured our safety from behind.
The sights were impressive, the views were out of this world and the roads (while a bit rough) were incredible to ride.
We were joined by an awesome couple which made the ride even better.
This was easily one of my favourite experiences in Vietnam and I’d definitely do it again!
Few tips:
1. Our overnight stay involved lots of good food and drinks. Obviously, have fun. But, be prepared for a full day of riding the next day.
2. Riding into Da Lat at rush-hour was a bit stressful, even for my friend who is experienced. So, be alert and ride defensively.
3. Most importantly, ask for a full-face helmet, knee and elbow pads and gloves. They should be free.

DALAT To Trai Mat By Vintage Train I VIETNAM
We went for a little trip from Dalat to ride a french old colonial train in Dalat. Is it worth? We were quite happy to travel by train after a long time and it was pretty cool but we weren't really satisfied with the scenery views from the train. But it was still pretty great to be on an old train. After that, we arrived in Trai Ma where we visited Linh Phuoc Pagoda and that was a highlight of this trip.

Da Lat, Vietnam - Easy Riders tour with Quy
My trip through Da Lat, Vietnam and surrounding towns, January 2012.
Vietnam Easy Rider Tour - 6 Days Dalat to Hoi An
In February 2017, my friend and I went on a 6 day tour with Mr Hung and Binh from Dalat Easy Riders. We rode from Dalat to Hoi An.
The 6 day motorbike tour from Dalat to Hoi An with Mr Hung and Binh from Dalat Easy Riders was the highlight of my time in Vietnam. It really showed me the spirit of the country, and made me fall in love with its people, places, and ways.
In many ways, my friend Sarah and I felt that the best moments of this trip were the small things that could not be captured on film. Like the little boy on his bike who blew me a kiss, making us all laugh. Or the little kids towing a puppy around their front yard on a wooden cart. Or the many times when everyone in the restaurant would end up laughing because Mr Hung cracked himself up with his contagious laugh after saying something funny. Or the counting of how many animals crossed the road in front of us. Or the frenzy of giggling teenagers when Mr Hung told them Sarah and I were movie stars. Or the huge smiles from a very lovely man in the K’Tu village who insisted on proudly showing us every item in his very clean house. Or the “WTF” looks from locals riding high up on a jungle mountain pass when they turned the corner to see 2 Australian girls casually walking down the road (no drivers in sight), hours from any town. And the list goes on.
I feel like I got to experience “the real Vietnam”, as Mr Hung calls it. In most places we visited, Mr Hung would tell us “There’s no tourists here… only 2 Australians”. And he was right. He showed us how the country ticks. He stopped at what looked like just a house, and would usher us in to meet the owners, then show us a factory of some sort running in it’s back rooms or yard. It felt like an honour to be there, witnessing this beautiful place, it’s people, it’s customs, and it’s stunning scenery… to be part of this fascinating land.

Vietnam Road Trip: Driving to Dalat
After 6 months of incredible heat and no rain, it's time to jump on the bike and head for the hills. We are taking a road trip to Da Lat, Vietnam.
The best way to travel in Vietnam is on 2 wheels. We loaded up our Lifan 150, a not-all-that reliable motorcycle, and spent 3 days making our way to the capital of Lam Dong province, where the air has a pine smell to it, and the chances of rain are much greater.
We stop at Cat Tien National Park, and head out on the Dong Nai River. Day 2 we stop at Madagui Forest City and do a bit of a hike before heading through Bao Loc to get our first sample of coffee in the highlands. We spend the night at Juliet's Villa Resort, an amazingly relaxing, off-the-beaten-path hideaway. The next day we attempt to make it to Dalat - not a long drive, but one filled with dirt, dust, and danger. Will we make it? Will we find rain? Probably, but there's a chance that we drove off a cliff and this is being written by a literal ghostwriter.

Our first day in Da Lat, Vietnam. The family was pretty tired from our Saigon street food tour and we all just need some rest. It was a rainy misty day and we could fully experience the night market.

AMAZING DA LAT VIETNAM STREET FOOD TOUR
It was raining but I still had an amazing Da Lat street food tour in Vietnam. The Da Lat night market tour with tons of street food was still busy despite the downpour. Had a fun day flying the drone around the town too.
