Walking in SOUTHAMPTON / England (UK) ????????- 4K 60fps (UHD)
We visit Southampton, in southern England, one of the warmest and sunniest cities in the UK. The area was settlement since Roman and Saxon times while the city became walled during the middle ages. Some parts of these defences remain in the city which we will visit on this tour.
We start our walk at the Titanic Engineers' Memorial at East Park dedicated to the engineers who died in the Titanic disaster on 15 April 1912.
We head south on the Above Bar St passing the Guildhall and the also then west to the SeaCity Museum. We finish circling this block to head south again through the shopping area to the Bargate and medieval town walls.
Going further south we head to the old town with some houses from the 12th and 14th century the like Tudor House. On our way to the sea we also see the the Watergate ruin. We reach the ferry terminal where we end this tour.

Southampton, England. Best Time To Travel
Southampton is the largest city in the ceremonial county of Hampshire, England. Southampton is noted for its association with the Titanic. It is the home port of a number of the largest cruise ships in the world.
LOCATION
It is 70 miles (110 km) south-west of London and 15 miles (24 km) west north-west of Portsmouth. Southampton is a major port and the closest city to the New Forest. It lies at the northernmost point of Southampton Water at the confluence of the Rivers Test and Itchen. Southampton is influenced by the sea and rivers. The River Test runs along the western border of the city, separating it from the New Forest.
HISTORY
Archaeological finds suggest that the area has been inhabited since the stone age. Southampton has been a settlement since Roman and Saxon times. It was an important trading port and defensive outpost of Winchester. The Anglo-Saxons formed a new, larger, settlement across the Itchen centred on what is now the St Mary's area of the city. In 1912, the RMS Titanic sailed from Southampton.
CLIMATE
As with the rest of the UK, Southampton experiences an oceanic climate. Southampton is one of the warmest and sunniest cities in the United Kingdom, mainly due to its southerly, low-lying and sheltered location. Winters in Southampton are damp and rainy weather but not cold. The city is usually snow-covered 2-3 days annually. Nights can remain cold well into May. Summers are moderately warm and usually not rainy. Damp days however do happen even in July.
COMMUNICATION
Southampton is serviced by Southampton International Airport located a short distance outside the city in Eastleigh. It is a relatively small airport. From the airport, bus U1C goes to the city centre. The alternative is to use one of the London airports and travel on to Southampton by rail, car or bus.
ECONOMY
health and education sectors are main economy of Southampton. property and other business are 2nd sector and the third-largest sector is wholesale and retail. Southampton has always been a port, and the docks have long been a major employer in the city. In particular, it is a port for cruise ships as well as being the largest freight port on the Channel coast and fourth-largest UK port. Southampton is home to the headquarters of both the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.

A Walk Through York, England
York is a historic walled city at the confluence of the rivers Ouse and Foss in North Yorkshire, England, and is the traditional county town of Yorkshire to which it gives its name. The city has a rich heritage and has provided the backdrop to major political events in England throughout much of its two millennia of existence. The city offers a wealth of historic attractions, of which York Minster is the most prominent, and a variety of cultural and sporting activities making it a popular tourist destination for millions.
The city was founded by the Romans as Eboracum in 71 AD. It became the capital of the Roman province of Britannia Inferior, and later of the kingdoms of Northumbria and Jorvik. In the Middle Ages, York grew as a major wool trading centre and became the capital of the northern ecclesiastical province of the Church of England, a role it has retained.
In the 19th century, York became a hub of the railway network and a confectionery manufacturing centre. In recent decades, the economy of York has moved from being dominated by its confectionery and railway-related industries to one that provides services. The University of York and health services have become major employers, whilst tourism has become an important element of the local economy.
From 1996, the term City of York describes a unitary authority area which includes rural areas beyond the old city boundaries. In 2011 the urban area had a population of 153,717, while in 2010 the entire unitary authority had an estimated population of 202,400.
