I Whish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free - John Denver Project Band
n.1 I Whish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free - Brano di apertura del concerto della J.D.P.B. alla Wheeler Opera House di Aspen per i 20 anni dalla scomparsa di John Denver... abbiamo voluto aprire con un inno alla libertà, una canzone che ci vuole portare a cantare liberi come è lo spirito di John... I wish I could be like a bird up in the sky, How sweet it would be If I found out I could fly, and soar up to the sun And look down upon Ihe sea, And I sing because I know how it feels to be free

Explore Colorado: Hotel Jerome Aspen
Hotel Jerome opened in Aspen in 1889, during the silver boom. Originally built as a businessman’s hotel, it was one of the poshest hotels of the west. In the late 1880s and early 1900s the hotel changed owners many times. It survived times like the Great Depression by being more of a boarding house than hotel. In the mid-1980s the hotel went through major renovation. In late 2012, the hotel went through another major renovation. With about 350 workers daily, the top to bottom renovations were completed within four months.
Hotel Jerome is a combination of the Old West with modern luxuries. The décor is a mixture of styles from the late 1880s through the 40s and 50s. There are ranching influences and even Asian influences in some of the décor. There are 93 rooms in this boutique hotel. The iconic J-Bar has been around since the hotel opened. Try the Jerome Burger, it is “locally, world famous.” The J-Bar has also been known for the Aspen Crud drink created during Prohibition. It is 5 scoops of vanilla ice cream with 3 shots of bourbon.
Hotel Jerome has a long history of being a favorite of celebrities. Some of the celebrities include John Wayne, Gary Cooper, Nelson Mandela, Bill Clinton, Hunter S. Thompson, Jack Nicholson, The Eagles, Journey, and Chelsea Handler. It is not uncommon to see a celebrity in the J-Bar or in the Living Room, a popular spot for après ski. If you visit either, you never know who you might sit next to. There is an unspoken rule in Aspen of don’t ask celebrities for autographs. If you do, it means you’re not local.
If you want a deal on rooms, try booking your stay mid-April through June or after Labor Day through mid-December. You do not have to be a guest of the hotel to enjoy the J-Bar, Living Room, or Prospect Restaurant.

John Denver ~ The Wings That Fly Us Home ~ Baz
John Denver, live from Huntsville, Alabama. (21 September 1993)
NASA Benefit Concert, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has been an integral part of Huntsville and Madison County, Alabama.
Founded in 1958, NASA first became a presence in the state in 1960, when it established the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville. German researcher Wernher von Braun, who was the U.S. Army's lead rocket engineer at Redstone, led NASA's rocketry program from 1960 to 1970 as the United States made monumental strides forward in its quest to explore space.
This song appears on the album Spirit (1976)
John Denver ~ The Wings That Fly Us Home ~
There are many ways of being in this circle we call life
A wise man seeks an answer, burns his candle through the night
Is a jewel just a pebble that found a way to shine
Is a hero's blood more righteous than a hobo's sip of wine
Did I speak to you one morning on some distant world away
Did you save me from an arrow, did you lay me in a grave
Were we brothers on a journey, did you teach me how to run
Were we broken by the waters, did I lie you in the sun
I dreamed you were a prophet in a meadow
I dreamed I was a mountain in the wind
I dreamed you knelt and touched me with a flower
I awoke with this: a flower in my hand
I know that love is seeing all the infinite in on
In the brotherhood of creatures; who the father, who the son
The vision of your goodness will sustain me through the cold
Take my hand now to remember when you find yourself alone
And the spirit fills the darkness of the heavens
It fills the endless yearning of the soul
It lives within a star too far to dream of
It lives within each part and is the whole
It's the fire and the wings that fly us home
Fly us home, fly us home

Performed at the Limelight Hotel in Aspen, Colorado on October 10th, 2014 as part of the annual John Denver Tribute Weekend.
