Whipsiderry Beach
Whipsiderry Beach is a beautiful Cornish cove near Newquay. The beach is reached by a flight of 113 steps and looks very tropical. This beach and the surrounding area was mined and adits (now blocked off) can be seen around the beach. At low tide, this beach joins on to Fruitful Cove which then joins on to Watergate Bay.

Towan Beach, Newquay
Towan Beach is one of the Cornish seaside town of Newquay's seven beaches. Along with Fistral Beach, it is one of both the town's and Cornwall's most popular beaches and is most famous for Towan Island, a natural rock stump on the beach with a bungalow on top, connected to the mainland by a footbridge.
The beach is in between Newquay Harbour, which was originally part of Towan Beach before it was blocked off by the building of the harbour walls, and Great Western Beach. At low tide, Newquay Harbour Beach, Towan Beach, Great Western Beach, Tolcarne Beach and Lusty Glaze Beach (just about) all join up to form one massive beach stretching along the entire length of Newquay. As well as this, at extremely low tide, all the beaches outlined above plus Porth Beach, Whipsiderry Beach, Fruitful Cove and Watergate Bay also join up, however this isn't usual.

Whipsiderry Beach, Newquay, Cornwall in 2018
Video filmed in September 2018 on a beautiful Sunday morning.
Location
Whipsiderry beach between Porth and Watergate bay is a hidden gem of a beach voted in the top 20 of Europe’s best beaches in the Sunday Times.
Whipsiderry Beach is a ten minute drive from Newquay but there is no car park, limited parking on the road, there are no lifeguards, no toilets and dogs are allowed all year round.
Despite being situated very close to Newquay, Whipsiderry has a very different, wilder feel than the town beaches and there are no facilities.
Whipsiderry Beach can be reached along the north coast road (less than a mile from Porth) or you can head northwards along the coastal path from Newquay.
Quiet and sheltered, it is a beautiful beach surrounded by cliffs, but there are a long flight of very steep steps to negotiate down this beach with uneven concrete and variable height steps.

Whipsiderry Beach Moments
Whipsiderry Beach is Newquay's hidden gem and so it is very quiet even in high season during summer months. 136 very steep concrete steps take you down to this little Paradise.
