Exploring the Abandoned village of Yellow Springs
John Bryan State Park Hiking
Join us as we head to Yellow Springs, Ohio for a day hike at John Bryan State Park and Clifton Gorge Nature Preserve. It was a beautiful day for hiking as temperatures were in the 50's. The park doesn't have high mileage trails, but it is one of the most beautiful parks in Ohio. If you head to the park, visit the unique town of Yellow Springs. It is an artists community full of local shops, eateries, an incredible brewery & Young's Dairy (ice cream & cheese curds).

Cartridge Brewing to open in the spring
Located on the banks of the Little Miami River and separated by a thriving bike trail sits a piece of Warren County's history, but for decades the old Peter's Cartridge Factory has been more of an eyesore than anything else.

ReInvention Stories: 5th Street BrewPub
The Fifth Street Brewpub will be Ohio's first brewpub co-op -- and only the second in the nation -- when it opens this year. Brian Young is the President of the Board and Maureen Barry is the co-op's Membership Director. The couple wanted to reinvent a neighborhood eyesore: the former American Saloon on East Fifth Street in Dayton's Saint Anne's Hill Historic District.

Man Collecting Guns Shot to Death by Police after 6 hours Standoff at Yellow Springs
Pls Subscribe for more raw world News!
(Fox45) YELLOW SPRINGS -- A SWAT standoff has ended in Yellow Springs. According to police scanner traffic, the man barricaded himself inside a home on North High Street and was heavily armed.
Police was forced to call for back up when the suspect shot several rounds at the officers on scene. During a shootout with police, is believed when the suspect went down. Officers sent in a robot to check out the inside of the home, which revealed the man lying motionless surrounded by weapons. No word on if the deadly gun shot was from self-inflicted or from police.
YELLOW SPRINGS -- The standoff between police and an armed man has come to an end with the suspect dead in his house.
A short time after 5 a.m., a SWAT team robot was sent into the house with a camera that showed the unresponsive suspect.
Right now it's not clear how he died.
Reporter Amber Watson says this all happened in a typically quiet neighborhood.
Greene County Sheriff Gene Fischer said officers were fired upon when they first made contact with the suspect. Fischer said a couple dozen rounds were fired.
One neighbor Amber Watson spoke to says he was outside and had to jump behind a car as shots were fired from the man barricaded inside his home.
According to residents we talked to the man got into a fight with a family member, which led to the standoff.
A neighbor tells us the man collects guns and was heavily armed. He reportedly heard gunshots on three occasions coming from the home.
One neighbor we spoke to said she's never seen anything like this.
I've never known him actually shooting. I know his father was in the military and collected guns, like really old guns, said Karen Russell, a friend and neighbor.
Neighbors say the suspect was in his mid-40s and had a son and daughter. The family reportedly came out of the house to talk to negotiators.
Fischer said there had been problems at this home in the past, although he didn't provide details.
Several streets had been blocked off to keep people out of the area. Also, neighbors were told to stay in their homes. At one point an Ohio State Highway Patrol helicopter was called and used an infrared light to try to monitor the man inside his house.
As of 7:30 a.m., police still have the house blocked off as they continue to investigate. They are expected to be here for several more hours.
Blue Moon Soup - Annie Up / Why My Lady? - 2014
Blue Moon Soup performing Annie Up and Why My Lady? in their native Yellow Springs, Ohio. Big thanks to Megan Bachman of the Yellow Springs News for shooting this video. Keep an eye out for these tunes on Soup's newest album, due out first quarter 2015!
Lyrics: Annie Up
Annie up, now! You're time is at hand.
Getting old ain't what makes you a man.
Though any man take your money,
You'd have to give up your soul.
I know you think it's all too much,
You're thinking too much for sure.
You cannot escape sorrow,
Tomorrow is the day you'll never know.
... and the world began to fade,
and she forgot about the place where we are now.
Deep within the shadows, of the cradle of night,
The eye of the needle shone the mirror of life
Times of heart and old regrets filled her head,
And as her soul slipped through the eye,
the only thing left,
was the will to shape tomorrow,
Tomorrow is the place we've got to go!
... and all her worries came to face,
as she fell back into the place where we are now.
Gun to her back, hands to the sky,
That's when Annie learned to turn that water to wine.
Men of hate will surely forge their words in lead,
But get the fear out of your heart, and bring the living from the dead!
Triumph will out sorrow,
Tomorrow is the place we've got to go!
All your worry is for waste,
when you forget about the place where we are now.
Lyrics: Why My Lady?
Why my lady think I'm lazy?
She don't know she make me crazy.
Crazy for you girl, tell me what can I do?
Tell me why should little raindrops turn into a raging storm?
Oh my mother like no other,
Sing her sweet song one another,
And take me away,
take me back to the day.
Tell me why should little raindrops turn into a raging storm?
I'll live a little love a little laugh a little put it in a song,
So then everybody everywhere will only ever have to get along,
And let the rainfall when I'm gone,
And turn into a raging storm.
Leaves are falling,
Winter's calling,
There's naught to do but keep on stallin',
And waiting for you girl,
Tell me what can I do?
Tell me why should little raindrops turn into a raging storm?
Tell me why should little raindrops turn into a raging storm?
Tell me oooooh oooooh oooooh oooooh oooooooh

For many pioneers headed west, the Missouri River served as the
first leg in their journey to the Western Trails. Travis Boley,,
rethinks the Missouri River in terms of its unique status as a
waterway that doubles as a National Historic Trail.
He is already engaged in creating a 40 mile hiking/biking trail
in the shared historic corridor of the Oregon/California/Santa Fe
Trail from Sugar Creek, Missouri to Gardner, Kansas. It will
intersect with the Katy Trail Extension at 63rd and Blue Ridge
Blvd. in Raytown, Missouri making it possible for hikers and
bikers to easily access the Missouri River at the former Wayne
City Landing near present day Sugar Creek, Missouri.
His grander vision includes opening up wide swaths of the
Missouri River shoreline to allow similar non-motorized access to
our metro area’s riverfront, including trails that connect the
remaining historic sites from the Lewis & Clark Expedition and
the old riverboat landings for the wagon roads. This concept
would fully realize the idea that Congress established in the
1968 National Trails Act, which called for the building of
“retracement” trails in such corridors to forever preserve these
corridors.
