Roadschool fieldtrip | Shelling on Sanibel Island in Florida | Bucket list item checked
We went on a day trip to Sanibel Island. It's an island in the Gulf of Mexico just off the coast of Florida outside Fort Meyers. After braving traffic on the busy end of the island, we found parking and went hunting for shells.

Best Fishing Trip Ever | Sanibel Island, Florida | Unique Tourism
This is my first-ever saltwater fishing trip in Florida's Tarpon Bay. Located off of Sanibel Island near Fort Myers Beach, Tarpon Bay Explorers operates on the J.N. Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge and offers guided fishing excursions as well as kayak tours. A trip to the park is a definite recommendation for anybody looking to experience the pristine waters of Southwest Florida!

The Beach at Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park in North Naples, FL
This popular destination boasts one of the most pristine stretch of beach in the world. Every day, this tropical beach paradise beckons visitors to partake in vast peaceful views of the Gulf of Mexico, and experience the many shorebirds and wildlife that gather here. Visitors arrive to this park to sunbathe, paddle board, kayak, hike, bird-watch, fish, picnic, and search for seashells.
There are specific areas designated for anglers to drop their lines in the northern areas of the park for trophy catches. Boaters will also find the launch area into Turkey Bay easily accessible for most vessels, in order to experience the delicate natural estuaries of the Cocohatchee River, leading out to the Gulf of Mexico. Guided tours and interpretive programs occur on a regular basis by experienced rangers and volunteers.
A pavilion is available to rent for special occasions, such as weddings and birthdays.
Our concessionaire, Naples Beach Adventures, is open in parking Lot #4 with food/beverages and rentals that include paddleboards, kayaks, canoes, umbrellas and beach chairs. Beach wheelchairs are also available for reservation by the park.

Kayak Explorers Manatee Park Fort Myers-
The Kayak Explorers group met at the Manatee Park launch and went down the Orange River to the Caloosahatchee River. En route we saw hundreds of manatees in the warm waters. There were many babies with mothers and we also saw schools of rays. We paddled out to the big sculpture of manatees in the Caloosahatchee River adjacent to the I-75 bridge. On the way back the water patrol were going in to the water in snorkeling gear to remove a buoy that had gotten attached to a manatee. There were many other paddlers around as well as locals fishing and enjoying the fine day. Approx 4.5 miles round trip-leisurely paddle - mostly floating with the current checking out the wildlife.
