The Everglades are a natural region of tropical wetlands in the southern portion of the U.S. state of Florida, comprising the southern half of a large watershed.
The system begins near Orlando with the Kissimmee River, which discharges into the vast but shallow Lake Okeechobee. Water leaving the lake in the wet season forms a slow-moving river 60 miles wide and over 100 miles long, flowing southward across a limestone shelf to Florida Bay at the southern end of the state.
The Everglades are shaped by water and fire, experiencing frequent flooding in the wet season and drought in the dry season.

An everglades airboat tour, viewing wild Alligators at Gator Park, just outside of Miami, Florida. It's a Florida Must See and should be on everyone's To Do List.
The ride was fast, thrilling, smooth and on my bucket list for a long time, but now finally crossed off.
We saw wild alligators, birds, fish and a beautiful landscape of the Florida everglades.
We did a lot of research to find the best value for an everglades tour, and Gator Park was so well priced for the 45 minute ride we got. It was not touristy at all, there was lots of wildlife and the ride was a ton of fun! gatorpark.com

14th of Dec 2015 Everglades Coopertown Air Boat Tour
Karen, myself, Steve and Bev drive out to Coopertown Air Boat Tours on Gator Alley in the Everglades to take a tour and see more Alligators and experience the Everglades. It was a great experience and much cheaper than some of the tours offered closer to Miami. I got some underwater video with the GoPro of alligators up close and we got to feel and touch a baby alligator and a Boa Constrictor..
