We went over to Ireland this year and this is the first time we rode up the Antrim coast road from Larne to Ballycastle. I'm riding a 2014 GS with Akrapovic. Sorry about the road works, you'll just have to skip through them.

We took a little drive between Carnlough & Cushendall in County Antrim, Northern Ireland May 2017.
The coast road has been voted as one of the best drives in the world! The scenery in the region is absolutely stunning and like no where else in the world. Cliffs and waterfalls on one side of the road, the Atlantic Ocean on the other.
There are so many towns and villages you can stop off in along the way and you'll always receive a warm Ulster welcome.
Definitely worth a visit.

In car banter, when we left Giant's Causeway to drive along the antrim coast road to Belfast , we stopped at Ballycastle to turn on Tom Tom...lol.

The Antrim Coast
The Antrim Coast Road is regarded as one of the great tourist routes of the world. Created by Engineer William Bald, the road was completed in 1842 at a cost of £37,140 (£12,000 over budget!). Following the scenic coastline of County Antrim, the road passes a large number of Northern Ireland's tourist attractions, just some of which are shown in this short video:- Cushendun, Glenariff, Ballintoy, Giants Causeway, White Park Bay and Portbraddan. This must surely be one of the beautiful scenic drives in Northern Ireland not to be missed.

Robert guided us on the A26 to Portstewart and Portrush, where we stopped at his golf club. We were near a caravan that the Dunlop’s own near the sea and enjoy as a summer residence. We passed Dunluce Castle where twenty-five servants died when part of the castle collapsed into the sea in the seventeenth century. We drove past the Giant’s Causeway, formed from unique octagonal basalt rocks.
“This scenery is amazing, truly unique,” Richard exclaimed. “I like the brightly painted white houses, sweeping chalk cliffs and tiny boat harbours surrounded by rocky outcrops and islands. It’s all photogenic.” Now it was nearing 8.00 pm and Robert needed to pack for his Edinburgh trip tomorrow. I suggested, “We better take the quickest highway back. This coastal road is narrow and winds like a pig’s tail. We’re lucky to do thirty five miles an hour on it.” From Ballycastle, we visited the Bushmill Brewery and took the A26 and then the M2 from Antrim through Belfast to the M1 to Dunmurry

Antrim Coast Half Marathon - The Breathtaking Race Course Antrim Coast Road - Starting Point Larne
The redesigned Antrim Coast Half Marathon (formerly Larne Half Marathon) course is one of the flattest and fastest in the UK & Ireland - with stunning coastal scenery along the route - as you can see from this Antrim Coast Raod aerial video.
In 2020 Larne Athletic Club has brought one of the finest international fields ever assembled in Northern Ireland. Seven Olympic finalists have confirmed entry in the elite race, in addition to International teams from England, Ireland, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Starting at the Chaine Memorial Tower, the half marathon race course makes its way through Larne town before moving onto the iconic Antrim Coast Road.
Turning homeward at Ballygally Castle the course offers one of the fastest finishes to any road race.
The total prize fund has quadrupled with over £10k prize money on offer - the local prize fund has doubled from last year.
Antrim Coast Drive
When driving on the A2 along the Antrim coast I put my GoPro on the windshield after I left the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge. It's a little hard to hear but I had BBC Ulster radio on during the drive.
When the Saints go Marching In starts at about 5:20.
The Ashokan Farewell starts at 33:40.
Please excuse the noise my Garmin made. It kept telling me to turn off of the coastal route. The only reason I had it on was to be able to tell what the speed limit was because there were very few speed limit signs in that part of the country.
