Glenariff Forest Park is an 1185 hectare (2928 acre) forest in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It is part of Glenariff glen itself. There are three waterfalls, forest trails and riverside walks, as well as a visitor centre, shop, and seasonal caravan/camping site and restaurant.

It is located at Bryansford, near the town of Newcastle in the Mourne and Slieve Croob Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It covers an area of 630 hectares (1,600 acres) at the foot of the Mourne Mountains and has views of the surrounding mountains and the sea at nearby Newcastle

April 2019. On our second day in Northern Ireland we did some hikes to Glenoe waterfall, Cranny Falls, the Glenariff waterfalls in Glenariff Forest Park, and the Dark Hedges. We even had a surprise wedding!

Castlewellan Forest Park
Castlewellan Forest Park is located in Castlewellan, Northern Ireland. It contains the national Arboretum of Northern Ireland, started in 1740, which contains trees from Asia, North and South America, and Australasia.
This magnificent collection of trees and shrubs, set in beautiful surroundings, also incorporates fountains, ponds, ornamental greenhouses and broad sweeping vistas.
In terms of size, age and condition of the trees, this collection ranks among the top three arboretum the British Isles and the finest in Ireland. It includes:
20 oldest existing specimens in the British Isles
42 ‘champion’ trees of the British Isles
50 ‘champion’ trees of Ireland
The peace maze located in the park was constructed between 2000 and 2001. It contains 6000 yew trees planted by volunteers from Northern Ireland. It was the longest permanent hedge maze in the world until July 2007, when the Pineapple Garden Maze in Wahiawa, Hawaii was extended.
The Castlewellan Gold Leyland cypress was developed in the park from a mutant tree. It was selected by the park director, John Keown, and named Cupressus macrocarpa 'Keownii' in 1963. The original specimen is located in the ornamental gardens.
Castwellan Castle is a Scottish baronial castle built by the Annesley family between 1856 and 1858. It is close to the entrance of the arboretum and overlooks Castlewellan Lake. The castle is now used as a Christian conference centre.

Cushendall, formerly known as Newtown Glens, is a desired village and townland in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It is located in the historic barony of Glenarm Lower and the civil parish of Layd, and is part of Causeway Coast and Glens district.
It is on the A2 coast road between Glenariff and Cushendun, in the Antrim Coast and Glens Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It lies in the shadow of the table topped Lurigethan Mountain and at the meeting point of three of the Glens of Antrim: Glenaan, Glenballyemon and Glencorp. This part of the Irish coastline is separated from Scotland by the North Channel, with the Mull of Kintyre about 16 miles away. In the 2001 Census it had a population of 1,241 people, with a 2008 estimate of 1,363.
Much of the historic character of the 19th century settlement on the north bank of the River Dall remains. In 1973 it was designated as only the second Conservation Area in Northern Ireland, and includes the largely intact Irish Georgian buildings of the town's four original streets. Since 1990, Cushendall has hosted the Heart Of The Glens festival every August. Thomas D'Arcy McGee, a father of Canadian Confederation, spent his childhood in Cushendall when his father, who worked for the Coast Guard Service, was posted there.
The Curfew Tower in the centre of the village was built by then landlord of the town, Francis Turnley, in 1817, to confine riotous prisoners. Dan McBride, an army pensioner, was given the job of permanent garrison and was armed with one musket, a bayonet, a brace of pistols and a thirteen-feet-long pike. The tower is now owned by artist Bill Drummond.
Oisín's Grave, off the main Cushendall to Ballymoney road, is a megalithic court cairn on a hillside in Lubitavish, near the Glenann River. It is believed to be the burial place of Oísín - the Celtic Warrior Poet. A stone cairn was erected here in 1989 in memory of John Hewitt, the poet of the Glens.
Red Bay Castle, situated between the villages of Cushendall and Waterfoot. Built by the Bisset family in the 14th century and later occupied by the MacDonnells, one of the outposts of the Kingdom of Dál Riata.
Glenariff Forest Park, 5 miles inland from Cushendall, covers an area of 1185 hectares. In the park are two small rivers containing spectacular waterfalls, tranquil pools and stretches of fast flowing water tumbling through rocky gorges. There is a café, toilets and an exhibition centre. Four way-marked trails of varying length (1–9 km) wind through the forest leading you into some of the park's wooded areas. One follows the Glenariff River with its famous waterfalls and passes through the National Nature Reserve.

Il semble y avoir deux options pour effectuer la randonnée vers les cascades de Glenariff, soit débuter la randonnée près du Centre des Visiteurs du parc forestier de Glenariff (stationnement payant) ou à partir du sentier qui débute à l'arrière du Larah Lodge (stationnement gratuit).
En ce qui nous concerne, nous avons débuté notre randonnée sur le sentier qui débute au Larah Lodge.
Nous avons d'abord traversé un petit pont et pris un premier sentier à gauche pour nous rendre à la première cascade.
En fait, il s'agit plutôt de petites cascades qui s'écoulent lentement le long d'un rocher. Le site est très joli.
On revient ensuite sur nos pas pour prendre un autre sentier bien entretenu qui longe la rivière Glenariff. La randonnée s'effectue dans une forêt luxuriante. D'autres cascades peuvent être observées tout le long du parcours.
Cependant, la cascade Ess na Larach est la plus imposante. Elle se trouve vers la fin du parcours. Elle se situe dans un décor totalement enchanteur.

This time i decided to climb all peaks on the right side of the SILENT VALLEY RESERVOIR and BEN CROM RESERVOIR which are; WEE BINNIAN 460M , Slieve Gullion A walk on Lugnaquilla 925 M .
The mountain is the highest peak of the Wicklow Mountains range, the highest in the province of Leinster, and the 13th highest peak in all Ireland.I started my walk from Baravore ( there is car park at the end of the Glenmalure road ) .Follow the small path along the side of the river to find a small footbridge.Cross the river and continue along the road past the youth hostel.Turn left and walk through Fraughan Rock Glen.Walk uphill along the river .The river descends the steep slope at the head of the glen.Follow the path up to emerge onto an open area at the head of the glen with the summit of Lugnaquilla now visible in front and Cloghernagh on the left.Magical Place in Northern Ireland.
