Ao Nang is a beautiful and relaxing place, it has plenty of restaurants, shopping and nightlife, some great hotels and resorts, and it's a great place to base yourself to explore the Krabi islands and the rest of Krabi Thailand. Ao Nang is about 15 minutes from Railay Beach, 50 minutes from Koh Phi Phi Island and 2.5 hours from Phuket by boat; or 20 minutes from Krabi Town and 2.5 hours from Phuket by road.
Subscribe to my channel for more videos on what to do in Ao Nang and Krabi, and Thailand in general. New Thailand videos posted regularly about Ao Nang and Krabi places to see, things to do, Thai food, Thailand markets, Thai festivals & culture, hotels, resorts, villas, restaurants, street food, Thailand holidays, accommodation, tourism & Thailand travel.
Krabi is about 2-3 hours from Phuket by land or sea, and has world class accommodation standards comparable to what you find in Phuket hotels and resorts, but in a more relaxed environment.
If you're looking into Thailand Hotels have a look at hotels and resorts in Krabi. The islands and beaches of Krabi are famous for Thailand holidays, the movie The Beach was filmed on Krabi's Koh Phi Phi Island.

The Four Island Tour in Krabi Thailand. Showing Phra Nang Beach at Railay, Koh Gai (Chicken Island), Koh Tup (Tup Island) and Koh Poda (Poda Island). The tour operator I prefer is Andaman Krabi Travel and Tour, I've done a number of their tours since 2011 and they have always been great!
This is a great tour, visiting some of the many beautiful Krabi islands. The islands have great beaches for sunbathing, relaxing, swimming and snorkeling, and jungle behind the beach. The snorkeling from the boat was also great on the 4 island tour, with lots of fish and other marine life. You can book this tour and many other Krabi tours from both Ao Nang and Krabi Town.
The tour takes about 6-7 hours. They pick you up from your hotel at around 8AM and take you to the boat. The first stop is about 15 minutes away, Phra Nang Beach at Railay, where you can look around and/or swim for 40 minutes or so. Then it's time for some snorkeling. Snorkeling is one of my favourite activities around Thailand islands. There's so much marine life in the waters of Thailand!. Then you go to another tropical island for a swim or a snack. Then it's off to Poda Island. You generally get lunch when you first arrive and then have an hour or 2 for swimming and relaxing. Ask the guide if you can take a snorkel and mask when you get off the boat at the islands as they have good snorkeling too! We paid 600 baht per adult for the tour, plus 400 baht each for entrance to the national park.
I think this tour is one of the best things to do in Krabi, I've done it a few times now and it is always a lot of fun. It is also available from Phuket, Koh Lanta and Phi Phi Island.

How to Get to Railay Beach from Krabi Ao Nang - Thailand Travel Guide
How to get to Railay Beach from Krabi Ao Nang. If you want to know how to get to Railay beach Thailand then this how to video guide to Railay Beach is for you. Watch this video for travel tips on how to get to Railay Beach, travel costs in 2019 and a hotel recommendation.
Railay beach in Thailand is a popular day trip for tourists and travellers who want to take a long tail boat from Ao Nang. This video starts in Ao Nang town which is easy to get to from Krabi town or Krabi airport by bus. If you are travelling across Thailand you can also see my video of how to get to Ao Nang from Surat Thani and Ko Phangan here: bit.ly/2NCVauQ
INEXPENSIVE 4 Island Tour - Ao Nang, Thailand
Today, we see 4 of Ao Nang, Thailand's main tourist islands. We managed to get picked up, boat to 4 separate islands (Phra Nang Beach, Koh Tub, Chicken Island and Koh Poda), have lunch and get dropped off back at our condo for $18!
We had wanted to do another day trip in Ao Nang since there was such good options and the 4 island tour didnt disappoint. Nothing like just waiting for pick up and then being toured around with all transportation arranged and lunch for a change instead of planning everything out ourselves. Plenty of sun to be had and I was quite surprised Chicken Island actually did decently resemble a chicken from the side view of the long tail boat.
Ao Nang (which is near Krabi) was a great little town with some of the friendliest people we had run into. The boardwalk along the ocean front was kept clean and had a good variety of stalls, restaurants, larger franchises for those interested as well as some delicious street foods. After the four island tour we enjoyed our last moments soaking it all in before packing up the bags and getting ready for the next big stop on our Thailand travels, Koh Lanta.
We had a bus scheduled to pick us up at a larger hotel chain down the road for 10:00am so we arrived early at 9:30. At about 10:30 and plenty of worrying about what was happening another couple had showed up to the spot as well. We asked them if they were waiting for pickup as well and they were, but for a 11:00 bus! That gave us a bit of relief at least knowing that someone else should have pick up on the way and then we could sort out where our 10:00 ride was. So we waited it out with them and sure enough, the 11:00 bus arrived. After speaking with the driver it turns out they lumped us on that bus instead without emailing or notifying us! So we we're a little annoyed not getting a heads up that they had changed our pick up time but more relieved that we actually had a ride to get to our hotel in Koh Lanta at least, instead of having to change room plans for the night.
After a little drive we got to a ferry and boarded it with the van to get to the other side. After a brief ferry ride we had arrived on Koh Lanta. We originally thought we would have to boat from Ao Nang to Koh Lanta but after finding the bus option had chosen that one as it worked out much easier for transporting our luggage and having a ride right to our hotel.
Koh Lanta's main area involves a little Saladan Pier area where all the ferries for transportation and excursions come and go, and then a decent quality road that travels across the whole island with little hotels, family restaurants etc down the road getting less common the farther inland you got. We had booked ourselves a little hotel within walking distance of the main Saladan Pier but also far enough away to not be in the hustle and bustle and also able to get to one of the nicer beach accesses. The hotel turned out to not be our favorite in terms of quality, or a big battle I had to get into with 2 wasps chilling in our room upon arrival with a little mud nest in the bathroom, but I prevailed. And we were set up to enjoy Koh Lanta.
In the next video we finally rent a scooter in Thailand and get some open road exploring in. The simple one main road system in Koh Lanta and being able to rent a scooter directly through the hotel made it worth it. We go to Koh Lanta National Park at the southern tip of the island which has a beautiful cliff top view with an old light house, a stunning beach and plenty of awesome scenery, so stay tuned for the Koh Lanta exploration continuation Wednesday!
Thanks for tuning in everybody, we'd appreciate those likes down below if you enjoyed the content of course and would love to welcome any newcomers to our sub team so definitely subscribe if new as well!
Until next time friends!

Private Boat Tour - Hong Islands, Ao Nang, Thailand
Wow, what a day! Our second day in Ao Nang and finally the peak of our trip has arrived. We have booked a private boat for a day to take us around Hong Islands, just about 45 minutes away from Ao Nang.
A massive long tail boat, piked us up with a tour guide to take us around the islands. We have stopped at Hong Island, Lading Island, Pakbia Island and Daeng Island.
In a clever way we started our list of islands from the bottom up to avoid all the boat tour agencies and the big crowds. So we went straight away to Hong Island, which had a really impressive white sand beach and a beautiful turquoise water.
We had a long tail boat just for ourselves and on top of that, an entire beach as well! How awesome is that?
Had a good swim, got a nice tan…, actually not that nice, cause it was painful.
After we got tired of swimming, we took the kayaks down from the boat and we went around Hong Island to go in its lagoon. I mean this was mind blowing, beautiful water, seen some jellyfish on the way, loads of flying fish racing with us around the island.
We got into the lagoon, seen some giant bets hanging on a tree which was a bit spooky and right after that the rain came. By that time our boat arrived to the lagoon as well, so we got on it and had lunch.
We have been really lucky you know. When we arrived to Bangkok, we had a really sunny day, but the time we left, we heard from our friends that there was a huge flood and heavy rain in Bangkok. In the same way, when we arrived to Ao Nang, it was raining, kind of all day long…so you can see that the second day when we had the day trip the sun was up and shining. It was exactly the same in our trip to Phuket, a one day rainy relaxing day and the 2nd day when we had our activity planned the sun was up and shining again. We were blessed.
I think we had about 2-3 hours on the sea when actually set down to have something to eat. Mmmm sooo good, I was so hungry, maan, I could have eaten anything, but the food was really lovely. Button squash soup with chicken, rice, omelet and deep fried chicken. Yam yam, spicy, but maaan it was good.
After we had some good food, while the rain was still falling, we jumped off the boat into the blue, turquoise water…I am not that of a skillful jumper as you can see from the video, but surely had loads of fun.
We had our time at Hong Island and than we went to a different one, I cant really remember the order, but it is the island were we met the mafia of the island. A monkey, brave enough to steal anything and all of you stuff.
We didn’t spent too much time on this island as it was still raining, but we spent enough to enjoy the water and have fun with our tour guide Tony.
Our last stop was at a really small island, where we got the chance to see some yellow fish under the water, explore a bit of a jungle and yeeei, fly my drone which was fun.
I will continue this article with our second part of the day, till then have a look into the vlog I made about our 3rd day in Thailand, 2nd day in Ao Nang.
Let me know what you think. Which one is your favorite part of Thailand?

PHI PHI ISLANDS TOUR BY SPEED BOAT, KRABI-WELCOME, KRABI, THAILAND
If you like white sandy beaches, crystal clear water and the best snorkel in all Krabi, this is a tour you cannot afford to miss. We will show you the most stunning islands of Koh Phi Phi in one full day tour.
The archipelago of Koh Phi Phi comprises of 2 beautiful islands: Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh.
On our way we will stop in the famous Phi Leh Lagoon, a natural lagoon with crystal clear sea water and surrounded by limestone cliffs. This is one of the most beautiful places in Thailand.
Another beautiful place is Maya Bay, an astonishing bay that has become the main tourist attraction of Phi Phi since “The Beach” was filmed here in 1999.
We can´t leave Phi Phi without trying some of the best snorkeling in the whole region. We will not take you to regular snorkel spots where the rest of the tour operators go, instead we will actually snorkel in real diving spots looking for the best marine life where we may be lucky enough to see sharks and maybe even turtles! Some of these locations include Bida Nok and Bida Noi and Palong, located 1,5 km south of Phi Phi Leh and west of this island respectively.
BOOK NOW FROM OUR WEBSITE:
Railay Beach 2019 | Ao Nang, Krabi, Thailand
First thing on the list... go chill and explore Railay Beach, about a 10 minute long tail boat right from Ao Nang Pier. Not sure if going to the beach again is a smart idea after the sunburn we got from the day before LOL.
Anyway, Railay being one of the most famous beaches, is definitely a island to go check out and spend the day. The only way to get there is by boat, which will cost 200 Baht per person there and back, if leaving from Ao Nang.
Lots of activities to do, cool shops, and good food!! Drop a comment if you have been to Railay before?
It would be great if you'd follow along on all our socials too, don’t be a stranger????✌️
