The Dunes of Dauphin Island
To the uniformed, they’re just piles of sand, but to the 1,000 residents of Dauphin Island, the dunes are the first line of protection from the damaging winds and waters of coastal storms. With the ever increasing threat of hurricanes and rising seas, the health of this dune system is more crucial than ever and in need of stronger regulations to preserve it.

Kiva Dunes Gulf Shores Aerial Video
Kiva Dunes is a premier golf course in Gulf Shores, AL and located between Mobile Bay and the Gulf of Mexico on the Fort Morgan peninsula. Kiva was voted one of the top new golf courses in America when it opened in 1995. Jerry Pate-designed and situated along the shores of the Alabama Gulf Coast, Kiva Dunes is challenging course. The unprotected coast usually makes for breezy-to-windy conditions and the back tees are over 7,000 yards. The great thing for golfers with Kiva is the greens. The greens are well-kept and are usually in great shape. The course is hilly for a beach course and deep bunkers are found throughout.
Kiva is a popular area of Gulf Shores with great offerings for both primary residences and second homes. Kiva has several condominiums and subdivisions on-and-around the golf course. Gulf front properties are in tiers along the golf course with most offering some type of gulf view and / or golf course view. Adding to this, Kiva is littered with lagoons and pools showcasing the thriving presence of wildlife, including: turtles, birds and the occasional alligator.
Kiva is located approximately 12 miles West of the intersection of Hwy 59 and State Hwy 180 in Gulf Shores, AL. The golf course is close to the Peninsula Golf & Tennis Club (6 miles) and the Beach Club (1 mile) and also charter fishing, shopping and restaurants in the vicinity. A JETTYWOLF MOMENT
- FOOTAGE FROM YEARS AGO. BACK WHEN THE LITTLE JETTIES SPLIT THE RIVER AND THE ICW.
JUST A FEW MILES INLAND FROM THE ATLANTIC OCEAN AND INLET.
THIS ISN'T A RIVER. BUT RATHER A GREAT SALT BAY. NOT NEAR THE COAST IT ISN'T.
OF COURSE THE LITTLE JETTIES WERE TAKEN AWAY. BUT THE TIDES, WITH THE RIVER DEPTH (DREDGED TO CHINA) DO MAKE FOR WAY MORE CURRENT THAN ANY FISHERMAN OR BOATER EVER WANTS!
OUR TIDES ON THE AVERAGE RISE AND FALL ABOUT 4 FEET EVERY 6 HOURS....THAT'S A SHIT LOAD OF WATER FOLKS!!
COMPARE TO THE GULF COAST WHERE THE TIDE GOES UP AND DOWN A FOOT AND A HALF EVERY 12 HOURS!
YEAH, WHEN I TAKE GULF COASTERS FISHING. EXAMPLE: ALABAMA, MISSISSIPPI, LOUISIANA, TEXAS, AND EVEN FLORIDA. THEY ARE ASTOUNDED!
TOTALLY BLOWN AWAY!
******************REMEMBER THE CRYING NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN ADS ON TV BACK IN THE 70's? The natives of N.E. Florida would be crying too! WATCH IT HERE:
99% OF GULF COASTERS COULD NEVER FISH HERE.....WITHOUT A 20 YEAR LEARNING CURVE.
AND IF YOU MOVED HERE FROM SOME LAND BOUND AREA WHERE YOUR FISHING WAS DONE IN PONDS, LAKES, OR EVEN STREAMS..............YOU'RE GOING TO NEED MY HELP!!
OR JOIN THE LONG LEARNING CURVE. HECK WE ALL DID IT. BUT I CAN HELP YOU WITH ONE SIMPLE FISHING TECHNIQUE THAT'LL PUT YOU YEARS AHEAD OF THE CURVE!
I HAVE LOADS OF INFO HERE ON MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL.
PLEASE CHECK IT OUT:
LOTS OF VARIOUS PLAYLISTS WITH SIMILAR TOPICS COMPILED TOGETHER.
REMEMBER THIS: TIDES CREATE OUR CURRENT, DEPTH MAKES FOR WATER VOLUME, AND VELOCITY OF MOVEMENT.
USE IT ALL TO YOUR ADVANTAGE, BECAUSE YOU WON'T WIN THE BATTLE IF YOU TRY AND FIGHT IT.

Surf Fishing for Redfish in Gulfport/Biloxi, Mississippi
Hey y'all, this week I headed on down to Gulfport, Mississippi, for a family reunion. Of course, I set aside time to get out and catch some redfish out in the surf. There was actually some blue algae in the water, which was greatly impacting the fishing, and I wasn't supposed to even get in the water... I sort of ignored that warning, and gave it my best shot. The water out in the surf was very shallow. The deepest it got within 200 yards was 3 feet deep, so I decided to stick to the first three guts when trying to catch redfish. Redfish, and other game fish, tend to come in close to shore once the sun sets, in search of bait fish. I figured with the water being so shallow, some night time surf fishing would be my best bet. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!

Pier Fishing for Beginners - Easy Fishing at the Gulf State Park Pier
The Gulf State Park Pier is a great place to go fishing, and its easy enough for beginners. This pier is located on the Gulf in Gulf Shores AL. As a beginner myself, (this is my third time pier fishing) I like to fish with shrimp and cut bait. Using packaged rigs that have a couple hooks on each. I manage to catch a few croakers, whiting, hard head catfish, and a Gafftopsail catfish. I even caught a bait fish on a sabiki rig! The views are amazing and you might even see a shark or two under the pier. If you are new to pier fishing, try the Gulf State Park Pier. Its easy enough for beginners to catch fish and have fun.

Surf Fishing. Are You Doing it WRONG?
Subscribe Here:
I'm back at the beach after a few weeks visiting with family and friends in my hometown. I have noticed many people may have the wrong idea about how to approach surf fishing in our area, so I want to address how you can do it in a more effective and successful way!
Also, this is my first video with the new GoPro Hero 7 Black. It's really cool but the audio from the GoPro isn't conducive for the beach because of all the mics picking up the noise from the surf. I have ordered a mic and hope this will solve the issue, but for now I apologize for the audio issues.
