Baker's Tank Loop - Breckenridge
Known to locals as a classic loop just outside of downtown Breckenridge, Baker’s Tank is home to a mellow climb, fast downhill and just a taste of technical riding. An easy ascent along the dirt portion of Boreas Pass Road takes you to a hidden swath of singletrack that parallels the road from the hillside, descending through a dense pine forest along Baker’s Tank Trail before ending back at the bottom of Boreas Pass. A Guide to Downhill Mountain Biking In Breckenridge, Colorado
I'm not as much of a mountain biker as Aaron is, so he's going to share his insights to enjoying Breckenridge on two wheels in the summer!
In this video, he talks about where to park, his favorite trails, when to go, and the kind of bike you'll need, and how to get started if you are an absolute beginner. Based on his report, Breckenridge is a beginner friendly place to mountain bike, and the fact that it's beautiful doesn't hurt either!
He also references a great pizza place called Piante Pizzeria. Anyone that I know who has eaten at this vegan pizza place has raved about their food. Follow this link to view their website:

Trail of Highways™ Road Trip Lake George Boreas Pass Breckenridge Loop 9 22 17 Sq 9
Scenic Loop Drive up and over Boreas Pass
Left Lake George at 6:30 am heading out on Co. 77 along the Lost Creek Wilderness Area, Tarryall Creek and Reservoir. Forty Four miles later arriving in the town of Jefferson at the Junction of US 285, taking a left here heading south.
A few miles down the road coming to the turnoff on the right to Como, Colorado. Como is a nice
Historic stop, featuring I believe the only Locomotive Roundhouse left in the state.
From Como heading west out of town following the signs heading up and over Boreas
Pass. During the mining days this was a busy line of the Colorado Southern.
On the pass, what use to be the train stop is now an old Forest Service Station.
Halfway down the pass towards Breckenridge is Baker Tank at Milepost 102, this was a water
Filling tank for the steam engine.
Once down the pass in Breckenridge headed south out of town on Co. 9 heading up over
Hoosier Pass down through Alma, Fairplay (South Park), Hartsel and back to Lake George
ending our scenic loop drive.

Mountain Biking Blue Sky | Fort Collins, CO
Blue Sky is a great little trail near the Horsetooth Reservoir west of Fort Collins, CO. It's a fairly easy and fast trail that still offers a good workout and great views of the foothills. This trail continues on, connecting to Indian Summer for a 10.7 mile out and back, or Devil's Backbone for a bone jarring addition. If you can, ride this trail during a weekday as this is a popular trail for hikers and runners during weekends (as with most trail systems). You'll fork out $6 to park at the Blue Sky Trailhead Parking if you don't have a season pass, but sometimes you'll get lucky and a fellow rider will hand you their day pass as they leave. Keep the rubber side down!

Aspen Alley - Breckenridge, CO
The term “roller coaster” gets tossed around with abandon in the mountain-biking world, but not every trail is worthy of the title. Aspen Alley lives up to the name and then some, taking riders on a loopy, whip-fast joy ride through a mix of pine trees and, of course, the must-see aspen groves. The trail also provides stunning views of Breckenridge Resort from start to finish. In 2015, the Breckenridge trail crew finished a series of trail improvements, inclduing mellow berms on the numerous switchbacks and natural-rock pavers on flood-prone sections.
