Our Barrier Island Eco Tour Adventure!
An excursion to Capers Island (near Charleston, SC)...filled with adventure and getting close up and personal with wildlife in their natural habitat, was great fun! Watching the dolphins play alongside the boat was quite an experience! After a guided tour through the winding tidal creeks and gorgeous salt marshes, we were dropped off at Capers Island to find our own way and explore the island! Along the way are discoveries waiting, unbelievable views, wildlife, and much more!
We are Blessed to live in the Lowcountry...so much beauty all around us! Our friend was visiting us from the UK....and this adventure was one of the highlights! This was so much fun...exploring natural environment and habitat.... and learning so much too! There is so much to see and do...can't wait to do it again! Our many thanks to Shane and Morgan (Barrier Island Eco Tours) for this great experience...and can't leave out Emma, who is the best dolphin spotter I have ever seen!

Some of our fondest memories were spending time with our parents and friends fishing, crabbing, cast netting and exploring unspoiled barrier islands and salt marshes surrounding the Isle of Palms. We feel privileged to have had this opportunity at our back door and would like your family to have these same opportunities

Barrier Islands Trip 2010
On May 14, 2010 my Biology I Honors class went on a field trip to the Barrier Islands of South Carolina off the coast of Charleston, SC. The bus ride from Columbia, SC to Charleston, SC was about 2 hours. My Mom went with me. She went as a chaparone. We had a great time. We rode a boat from Isle of Palms out to the Barrier Islands. When we got there, we walked up and down the beach and the tour guides showed us a lot of interesting things. After about an hour, we ate hamburgers and hot dogs and then got back on the boat. We got on the bus about 3 and returned home about 5. We saw a baby starfish, dolphins, sharks, jellyfish, clams, crabs, and so much more! I will never forget this trip. It was amazing.

Special Thanks: Mrs. Hoskins for planning the trip, our tour guides who took us on the ecotour, and my mom and all of the other chaparones. I also need to thank the tour bus driver, I forgot to put him in the credits.
