Thing #11
Jacksonville Suns
//
Welcome to Jacksonville Suns Baseball. This minor league baseball team is a AA affiliate of the Miami Marlins major league team. They've played the southern league longer than any other team! And with a 41-year run in Jacksonville they hold a longer record of association with a city than any other AA team.
When you come to see a Jacksonville suns game, and you will be coming to the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville, you'll be sitting in an 11,000-seat state-of-the-art $34 Million field created as part of the Better Jacksonville Plan.
Since moving to these grounds in 2003, the Jacksonville Suns have not joked around. They have dominated the southern league when it comes to fans' attendance. In the first four years over 1 Million fans came out to support.
The Jacksonville Suns just aren't about serious sports competition, even though they're amazing at that, too! They believe a night at the ballpark should be fun for the whole family. So they mix it up with fireworks shows, concerts after the games, entertainers, you name it!
There's a kid's playground! So everyone in the family can have a blast. They even have theme weeks such as doggy days or Bark in the Park when you can bring your dog to the game and let him run around the bases!
Find out more about things to see and do with the Jacksonville Suns by visiting their web site at JaxSuns.com.
