Golfing Bear Creek....with bloopers at end
Went golfing with my friend Jake at Bear Creek in Dallas. It was a decent round and a beautiful day. Par for the course was a 72, I shot a 86, jake shot a 94. I got the cart stuck for a few minutes trying to cross a ditch lol. Bloopers and bad shots are at the end of the video. My best drive was 281 yards and I made a birdie on a par 5.
Bear Creek Disc Golf Course - Grapevine Texas
This was my 7th disc golf game I have ever played and I made a +24 on this course. I think thats a huge improvement from My First Attempt @ Disc Golf when I got a +53 on the Trophy Club Disc Golf Course not even more than a month ago from when I made this video. Anyways here's some [TIMESTAMPS] if you want to see individual holes on this course and BTW HOLE 12 is my favorite but takes me 10 minutes to finish because my disc went into the ice cold creek.

Juneteenth 2014/Bear Creek Family Reunion
The Bear Creek community has a notable place in Texas history: it is the oldest settlement of freedmen and women in the North Texas region. The annual Juneteenth celebration and Bear Creek Family Reunion coincided this year with the 50th Anniversary of the West Irving Improvement Association, an organization that promotes the betterment of the community and preserves its heritage. Kristin Rattler has highlights from the celebration. This story originally aired in About Towne, our arts and entertainment magazine show.

About Cimarron Hills
Cimarron Hills, Texas' premier private golf and country club community, is located at the edge of the Texas Hill Country in Historic Georgetown. The community features a world-class Jack Nicklaus Signature Course and resort-style amenities.
Cimarron Hills is developer Garth Chambers' third resort-style golf and country club community. It is also the third time the Chambers family has paired with the Nicklaus Design team. Chambers takes a very hands-on approach to the design and development of each community. His grand scale vision can also be seen in such California developments as Dove Canyon, just east of Newport Beach,, and Bear Creek in Temecula, both featuring Jack Nicklaus Signature Courses. With Cimarron Hills, Chambers and his team, which includes his business partner and wife, Pamela, pored over books and historical documents depicting the patterns of Tuscan streetscapes and villages. They visited California golf communities, historical East Coast courses, and the old-world villages nestled along the hillsides of Tuscany, before the land plan was even executed.
Custom homesites at Cimarron Hills, including golf membership fees, range in price from $145,000 to $525,000. Over 85-percent of the available homesites offer ideal settings either along the Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, along the green belts, bordering the San Gabriel River or at the waters edge of the 14-acre man-made lake.
When complete, the Cimarron Hills Country Club will include: state-of-the-art practice facilities, a 30,000-square-foot clubhouse, pro shop, conference room with high-speed Internet connections, casual bar and grill, and a private dining room. The Cimarron Hills Poolhouse, exquisitely designed and decorated by renowned architect and designer Mike Marsh is already in place and features a Junior Olympic-size swimming pool, lighted tennis courts, a dining room, fitness center and a message therapy retreat.
Live closer to perfection.
The 18th fairway stretches out before you as you pass through the Cimarron Hills grand entrance. Nestled among the oaks, adjacent to the putting green, is a magnificent 45,000-square-foot clubhouse and spa facility. Through the doors, you are warmly greeted and shown to your table. Today it's a view of the water, and a comfortable place to contemplate the day's possibilities.
Will it be tennis? Or is it a day for a round of golf? The sun peeks through the clouds and persuades you to invest your time poolside before your 3:00 spa treatment. You've worked your whole life to live like this. Now is the time to enjoy it.

Avery Zweig fires -8 under par again! Texas Mexico Cup singles match...
June 28, 2015 Almost calendar year to the day that Avery fired her first round at --8 under par 28 at Bear Creek! Avery Zweig plays Sofia Temelo in singles match for the Texas Mexico Cup. Avery would go onto win her match 6 and 4. Avery had a personal best 7 birdies, an eagle and a bogey in 14 holes until the match ended. On this video if you don't see a putt being holed it is due to the putt being conceded (given) as the format was match play. Her hole by hole results were birdie, par, par, par, birdie, par, birdie, birdie, bogey, birdie, birdie, birdie, par, eagle.
Tangle Ridge GC, Grand Prarie (DFW) Tx 19072
Grade: B
Length: 6900 from back tees, Slope 135
Cost: $28 for 18+cart @ twilight Saturday (3pm)
As a result of this course (since I have finally found two in the DFW area that are not overwhelmed by housing) I am dowgrading the last course (Frisco Lake) to avoid grade compression. This is actually a pretty decent course. I'd say that about 80% of the course is almost completely free of housing fouling. It is an interesting track, good verticality, the greens are in decent condition and well-sloped and fast which led to a lot of 3-putts. The rough is kinda mossy which is moderately difficult to play out of and doesn't stop balls from bouncing into the woods especially when it's been matted-down by carts driving all over it, but at least you can get the ball out of it fairly easily. This is whwat i would call a normal, decent neighborhood course, though it's just surrounded by houses (in a seriously upscale neighborhood) on 3 sides. It's low enought hat you can see the top half of houses from many parts of the course, but there are not actually houses *on* the course. They're on the periphery of the course.
That is what I would call a decent trade (not idea, but still).
It is much better than laying the golf-course out in the spaces behind and between the houses.
Other than that, a good course with all the bells and whistles of a good course except for the absence of tabletop greens (as opposed to greens that are level with the fairway and have steep slopes on one or two sides). There's still plenty of peril here especially if the pins are on the back or sides. There's plenty of water & verticality and thick woods. But definitely the absence of true tabletop greens knocks the difficulty down a notch, and likewise the general absence of waste and woods tight on the greens. And the fairways while vertical in places don't have any side slope with the exception of #5, #13 and #14. #8 is more of a links style hole with a steep slope on the right hand side that is actually a big, long rough-covered berm, as there is a flat open part on the right side of the berm. There is a whole line of trees on the left side of the #8 fairway that shelter some of the houses on that side from errant tee-shots...but those houses are still there. There's no OB actually marked on the course, I suppose that they assume that you'd know not to go into someones' backyard chasing a wayward tee-shot. And in case you don't, they actually have signs warning players not to hop the fences to chase balls.
So other than the fact that the houses are there in the first place and not fully shielded by trees, it's not a bad layout, really. I've seen tougher, I've definitely played longer, but it has enough tricks up its sleeve to be a good challenging round. But still short and easy enough to beat-up if you're on your game. I didn't have much trouble with it except #18 where I had to break out my long-ball grip to clear the lake after hitting into it 5 times in a row with my normal grip. Every tee-shot that I hit with my long-ball grip I put in play past the lake, every tee-shot that I hit with my normal grip I rinsed in the lake. What you don't want to do after clearing the lake on #18 is then lose your ball to the right over the cart-path because anything hit that way is probably going to bounce off the packed-down rough over the cart-path and go into the waste to the right of the cart-path. The course demands respect in that long shots must be hit at least reasonably-straight or at least hit away from the obvious peril. On this course, with rare exception, there is no going off the fairway 100 yards, finding your ball and playing it back towards the green. If you even hit to the rough near the woods you'll be lucky to find your ball as the rough will be well packed-down everywhere but right around the green, anyplace that carts are likely to be driven.
So all in all, a proper neighborhood woods course, a fun, challenging round that isn't brutally tight, tough or long, a very straightforward in your face course that doesn't have a lot of hidden waste and blind shots, isn't inundated with houses and traffic, and definitely earns a solid B grade.
No jets, virtually no cars, and a relative handful of houses.
Plus good greens.
Right there, that's fairly unique among the courses that I've played in the area.
But don't get me wrong, houses don't necessarily ruin a golf-course. Just as with video, the basic subject still has to be good and there can't be *too* many technical problems.
But some courses do have too much crap going on around them to allow me to enjoy the course. Just as this camera-shake annoys me, but doesn't quite ruin this video. Is putting my inventive side to work, though.

Texas Rangers Golf Club- A Simple Course Vlog
Playing at the Texas Rangers course is always a fun experience. The greens roll fast (10.5) and smooth. This is one of the best courses in the DFW area and has an amazing practice facility. Rates run around $100 on the weekend but discount are offered for Arlington residents. This is a top tier course, if you have the opportunity to play it I would highly recommend! The greens were punched a week before filming and they are doing very well. Way better than average. Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoyed the video.
Arlington Golf and the Texas Rangers have partnered to build the world’s only Major League Baseball-branded golf course — the Texas Rangers Golf Club — which opened in February 2019. This collaborative branding partnership, along with $24 million in course renovations, affords the opportunity for Arlington to offer a destination golf course for both Arlington residents and visitors alike.
