We found this jewel beetle on a hiking trip on the outskirts of Pune, India. The family Buprestidae contains over 15,000 known species. The larvae are typically feed on plants and trees by boring into them. If only it was strong enough to lift it's load, we would see interesting stuff. Instead, it's just rolling it away.
