Destiny USA Mall 3/22/15 Mall Walking & the Disney Store!!
Destiny USA, previously known as the Carousel Center from 1990-2012, is a six-story super-regional shopping and entertainment complex on the shore of Onondaga Lake in Syracuse, New York. It is the sixth largest shopping center in the nation, and the largest in the state of New York. The anchors and junior anchors include JCPenney, Macy's, Lord & Taylor, Best Buy, The Bon-Ton, Dick's Sporting Goods, Sports Authority, Forever 21, DSW, Old Navy, Sears Outlet, Finish Line, and Off 5th. The mall, which opened on 15 October 1990, has six above ground floors and one underground floor, though only the lower three and the underground floor are retail. The fourth floor is primarily center offices. The third floor includes a 19-screen Regal Cinemas, restaurants, and entertainment options. The first and second floors span the length of the mall and house the various shops, vendors, restaurants and entertainment venues, with the major food court and namesake carousel being located on the second floor. The underground Commons floor houses medium-sized stores, a chapel, some kiosks, and the two underground parking garages, one of which also houses Best Buy's installation center. The Commons is only in the 1990 mall, not the 2012 addition.
Destiny USA has outside parking surrounding the mall on nearly all sides, on the Hiawatha Boulevard side parking is located across the street from the mall and is accessed by a bridge that enters the second floor of the 2012 addition. Parking includes one above ground and two underground parking garages. The mall is served by CENTRO buses.[3] There are main entrances on nearly all sides, as well as access through most of the anchors and from the underground parking.
Destiny USA is also home to the first mall with a go-kart track in it. Pole Position Raceway opened in 2012 in the expansion part of the mall on the entertainment floor (3rd floor).

SUMMARY
=======
The history of the United States from 1865 until 1918 covers the Reconstruction Era, the Gilded Age, and the Progressive Era, and includes the rise of industrialization and the resulting surge of immigration in the United States. This article focuses on political, economic, and diplomatic history.
This period of rapid economic growth and soaring prosperity in the North and the West (but not in the South) saw the U.S. become the world's dominant economic, industrial, and agricultural power. The average annual income (after inflation) of non-farm workers grew by 75% from 1865 to 1900, and then grew another 33% by 1918.With a decisive victory in 1865 over Southern secessionists in the Civil War, the United States became a united and powerful nation with a strong national government. Reconstruction brought the end of legalized slavery plus citizenship for the former slaves, but their new-found political power was rolled back within a decade, and they became second-class citizens under a Jim Crow system of deeply pervasive segregation that would stand for the next 80–90 years. Politically, during the Third Party System and Fourth Party System the nation was mostly dominated by Republicans (except for two Democratic presidents). After 1900 and the assassination of President William McKinley, the Progressive Era brought political, business, and social reforms (e.g., new roles for and government expansion of education, higher status for women, a curtailment of corporate excesses, and modernization of many areas of government and society). The Progressives worked through new middle-class organizations to fight against the corruption and behind-the-scenes power of entrenched, state political party organizations and big-city machines. They demanded—and won—women's right to vote, and the nationwide prohibition of alcohol 1920-1933.
In an unprecedented wave of European immigration, 27.5 million new arrivals between 1865 and 1918 provided the labor base necessary for the expansion of industry and agriculture, as well as the population base for most of fast-growing urban America.
By the late nineteenth century, the United States had become a leading global industrial power, building on new technologies (such as the telegraph and steel), an expanding railroad network, and abundant natural resources such as coal, timber, oil, and farmland, to usher in the Second Industrial Revolution.
There were also two very important wars. The U.S. easily defeated Spain in 1898, which unexpectedly brought a small empire. Cuba quickly was given independence, as well as the Philippines (in 1946). Puerto Rico (and some smaller islands) became permanent U.S. possessions, as did Alaska (added by purchase in 1867). The independent Republic of Hawaii voluntarily joined the U.S. as a territory in 1898.
The United States tried and failed to broker a peace settlement for World War I, then entered the war after Germany launched a submarine campaign against U.S. merchant ships that were supplying Germany's enemy countries. The publicly stated goals were to uphold American honor, crush German militarism, and reshape the postwar world. After a slow mobilization, the U.S. helped bring about a decisive Allied Forces victory by supplying badly needed financing, food, and millions of fresh and eager soldiers.

SUMMARY
=======
Utah ( YOO-taw, -tah listen) is a state in the western United States. It became the 45th state admitted to the U.S. on January 4, 1896. Utah is the 13th-largest by area, 31st-most-populous, and 10th-least-densely populated of the 50 United States. Utah has a population of more than 3 million according to the Census estimate for July 1, 2016. Urban development is mostly concentrated in two areas: the Wasatch Front in the north-central part of the state, which contains approximately 2.5 million people; and Washington County in Southern Utah, with over 160,000 residents. Utah is bordered by Colorado to the east, Wyoming to the northeast, Idaho to the north, Arizona to the south, and Nevada to the west. It also touches a corner of New Mexico in the southeast.
Approximately 62% of Utahns are reported to be members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), making Utah the only state with a majority population belonging to a single church. This greatly influences Utahn culture and daily life. The LDS Church's world headquarters is located in Salt Lake City.The state is a center of transportation, education, information technology and research, government services, mining, and a major tourist destination for outdoor recreation. In 2013, the U.S. Census Bureau estimated that Utah had the second fastest-growing population of any state. St. George was the fastest-growing metropolitan area in the United States from 2000 to 2005. Utah also has the 14th highest median average income and the least income inequality of any U.S. state. A 2012 Gallup national survey found Utah overall to be the best state to live in based on 13 forward-looking measurements including various economic, lifestyle, and health-related outlook metrics.

Three Weeks Out: Competing Visions for America, with Kathleen Kennedy Townsend
With the presidential election nearing, former Lieutenant Governor Kathleen Kennedy Townsend visited Maxwell on October 15, 2012, and gave a talk titled Three Weeks Out: Competing Visions for America. During the talk, Townsend set forward and commented on the two polarized visions for America embedded in the politics of this year's presidential campaign, visions that entail equally divergent views about religion and how faith should inform public policy.

New York State Senate Session - 05/07/14
New York State Senate Session - 05/07/14
Science in Global 21st Century
Featuring Professor George H. Atkinson - Director, Institute on Science for Global Policy and Professor of Chemistry, Biochemistry and Optical Sciences, University of Arizona. Many of the most significant global challenges facing 21st century societies are directly related to the remarkably rapid and profound scientific and technological (S&T) achievements of our time. The challenge to consistently recognize short-term S&T opportunities and risks as well as to anticipate emerging and “at-the-horizon” scientific achievements that foreshadow significant technological advantages or disadvantages (surprises!) are now fundamental governmental responsibilities. The urgency of addressing immediate problems must be balanced with the patience to accurately identify those S&T advances to be considered in longer-term policy. The fostering of safe, secure, and prosperous “knowledge-based societies” is increasingly related to how well governments meet these responsibilities. The economic competitiveness, and even the national security, of a country are increasingly dependent on whether governments institute policies that appropriately integrate S&T advances into their respective societies.
