Snowtubing at Boreal Mountain Resort, Truckee, CA (4 of 4)
Not the best snowtubing condition. There was too little snowfall in 2011. The slope is wet and slushy, the sand is showing through. But this is the only thing available this year.

California Donner Summit Sno Park (snow play area for the kids)
Took the kids to the Donner Summit Sno-park right off of I-80 in Soda Springs, CA which is about a 2 to 3 hour drive from the East Bay Area. The place is very convenient to access right off the freeway however parking might be a little hassle depending on the time of day. I recommend buying a parking pass online at before going, to avoid trying to find a vendor when you arrive. The park itself is an excellent spot to take little kids for sledding, but be sure to bring your own sled or saucer since there won't be any for sale there. You only need to walk into the wooded area less than a 100 yards to find the best slopes for the kids! If you know of any other snow parks in the Sierra's that you like, please feel free to comment below. Thanks for watching!

Truckee Skatepark / Boreal Snow Resort
I went to Tahoe to snowboard with my brother in law Joe. We wound up going to Truckee skatepark for a little while before going to Boreal Snow Resort. I had a blast learning new things!
Our New Year's Outing To Boreal Mountain Resort (January 5, 2015)
Happy new year, everyone! It was that rare time when we were to see snow again! It's been years since I've seen snow in person...
Me and my parents went up to the Boreal Mountain Resort around Soda Springs, CA to see our first snow in person in a long time. I wish we came here around Christmas since there was fresh powder on the ground and on the trees after a storm system came thru on Christmas Eve (Dec 2014). We went when all the snow was on the ground only. Still better than nothing!
Knowing that there won't be any new storms to add fresh snow to the Sierras in many days to come, it was a good thing that we went! Snow cover was already diminishing and it turns out that we went when the weather was at its warmest so far this month of January 2015...reaching up into the lower to mid 50s even for here in Boreal! Talk about rushing to hurry to see the snow before they all melt away!
We left a bit late since I had slept in lol. The drive was like over 3 hours and we arrived to the place like around 3 p.m. By the way, we also stopped by a Subway in Colfax, CA to eat our late lunch.
More info for the place: Boreal Mountain Resort is a ski area in Soda Springs, near the Lake Tahoe area of California. Located on Highway 80, West of Truckee, Boreal typically is the first area to open for skiing and snowboarding in Northern California.
Anyways, once we arrived, we parked a bit easily since there was a lot of parking. Always best to go after the holidays! We didn't really do much since we were short on daylight as well. The main highlight was that we went snow tubing. Only my parents went since I was scared lol. We stayed around the area and played with the snow as well until the tubing area closed. Too bad we didn't go in the skiing area since we needed tickets to get into that area of the resort.
We called it a day and then left Boreal around sunset. While along I-80 headed westward, we saw the beautiful sunset thru the high clouds. It was a nice ending to a short afternoon in the snow! It was then another 3+ hours back home... However, while around the Sacramento area, we got caught in heavy traffic. Looks like the typical evening commute for that area and we missed our exit to highway 99. But we just stayed on I-5, headed southward and just did the Stockton way to finish off the rest of the road trip home... Although it was a short (and tiring) outing, we had fun playing in the snow!
(Outing taken place on Monday, January 5, 2015)

Squaw Valley Ski Resort in California's Lake Tahoe
Ski Valley Ski Resort, the host of the 1960 Winter Olympic Games, offers world-class skiing and riding for families. The Village at Squaw Valley offers lots of family activities, like snow tubing and mini snowmobiles. My kids went wild as we explored High Camp with over a dozen of green runs, perfect for kids.

Boreal Ski Music Video
This Vid is Identical to Boreal MV (no VFX) except that this version has Color Correction FX and Wider Aspect Ratio.
Me and my wife made a trip to Boreal Ski Resort (Truckee, California) to celebrate our 3rd year wedding anniversary. Our friend came over to try out skiing for the first time. It was also their anniversary (don't know how many years). The snow was a little solid during the morning, that's why it Hurts when u fall skiing, but it got a little better after a long hours from the boards scraping off the snow.
This video was shot from Canon Powershot SX20 iS (Max res. is 720p), and Edited to Adobe After Effects. Used 2.40 Aspect Ratio and Film Magic Pro presets from Videocopilot.net for Cinematic Look, and finally i've used Mixmeister Studio to slice the Music Background to match the length of the movie.
