One of our committee members had seen that this is a national trend. It's a great thing to do in down economic times and you can kind of focus on one business and help support one business at a time. So, he brought this to our attention, we saw it happening in other cities, and thought we could do it here in Lancaster as well.

We'll get to a lot of businesses that way and it'll bring a lot of excitement to not only the shop owners but the people who live here in Lancaster.

Here's Some Info About Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
Harrisburg is the capital city of Pennsylvania. As of 2011, the city had a population of 49,673, making it the ninth-largest city in Pennsylvania.[5] Harrisburg is also the county seat of Dauphin County[6] and lies on the east bank of the Susquehanna River, 105 miles (169 km) west-northwest of Philadelphia.
The Harrisburg-Carlisle Metropolitan Statistical Area, which includes Dauphin, Cumberland, and Perry counties, had a population of 509,074 in 2000. A July 1, 2007 estimate placed the population at 528,892, making it the fifth largest Metropolitan Statistical Area in Pennsylvania after Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Allentown--Bethlehem--Easton (the Lehigh Valley), and Scranton--Wilkes Barre.[7] The Harrisburg-Carlisle-Lebanon Combined Statistical Area, including both the Harrisburg-Carlisle and Lebanon Metropolitan Statistical Areas, had an estimated population of 656,781 in 2007 and was the fourth-most populous metropolitan area in the state.[8]
Harrisburg played a notable role in American history during the Westward Migration, the American Civil War, and the Industrial Revolution. During part of the 19th century, the building of the Pennsylvania Canal and later the Pennsylvania Railroad allowed Harrisburg to become one of the most industrialized cities in the Northeastern United States. The U.S. Navy ship USS Harrisburg, which served from 1918 to 1919 at the end of World War I, was named in honor of the city.
In the mid-to-late 20th century, the city's economic fortunes fluctuated with its major industries consisting of government, heavy manufacturing including the production of steel, agriculture (the greater Harrisburg area is at the heart of the fertile Pennsylvania Dutch Country), and food services (nearby Hershey is home of the chocolate maker, located just 10 miles east of Harrisburg). In 1981, following contractions in the steel and dairy industries, Harrisburg was declared the second most distressed city in the nation.[9] The city subsequently experienced a resurgence under its former mayor Stephen R. Reed,[10] with nearly $3 billion in new investment realized during his lengthy tenure.[11]
The Pennsylvania Farm Show, the largest free indoor agriculture exposition in the United States, was first held in Harrisburg in 1917 and has been held there every early-to-mid January since then.[12] Harrisburg also hosts an annual outdoor sports show, the largest of its kind in North America, as well as an auto show, which features a large static display of new as well as classic cars and is renowned nationwide. Harrisburg is also known for the Three Mile Island accident, which occurred on March 28, 1979 near Middletown.
In 2010 Forbes rated Harrisburg as the second best place in the U.S. to raise a family.[13] Despite the city's recent financial troubles, in 2010 The Daily Beast website ranked 20 metropolitan areas across the country as being recession-proof, and the Harrisburg region landed at No. 7.[14] The financial stability of the region is in part due to the high concentration of state and federal government agencies. The finances of the city itself however, have been poorly managed and the city is unable to repay its bond debt which has created an ongoing fiscal crisis.

Pennsylvania College of Technology alums Jeff Feeman (class of 2013) and Frank Carr (class of 2008) engineer inspiration for thousands of spectators every year at Sight & Sound Theatre in Lancaster, Pennsylvania ( Sight & Sound is one of the top three theatre destinations in the United States and offers the largest faith-based live production in the country. A new life-sized Nativity scene was unveiled on Sunday as part of the Christmas Eve celebrations in St. Peter's Square in the Vatican.
Leading Vatican officials attended the opening of the Nativity, which was then followed by Pope Benedict XVI lighting a Christmas candle at his window overlooking St. Peter's Square.
Hundreds of Italian Catholics and tourists gathered in the Square for the ceremony and prayed in front of the Nativity, while waiting for the Pope to appear.
Maria Luisa, a tourist from El Salvador, told the Associated Press Television News it was important to her as a Catholic and Christian to be in Rome on Christmas Eve.
For me as a Catholic and Christian it is so important, because the Pope is our leader here and in the world, and he is God's representative. And staying here on this wonderful day in which Jesus Christ is born in our hearts is a really exciting moment, she said.
Anna, an American, said she was also delighted to be at the Vatican at this special time.

Amtrak’s Southwest Chief passenger train stops here twice a day; the eastbound train #4 in the morning and the westbound train #3 in the evening.

Impeachment trial of President Trump | Jan. 30, 2020 (FULL LIVE STREAM)
House impeachment managers and President Trump’s lawyers have concluded their opening arguments in the Senate. The impeachment trial is now in the question period for both sides, when senators submit questions in writing to Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. The chief justice will read questions out loud, alternating between the majority and minority for up to eight hours.
Trump was impeached by the House of Representatives in December for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. Impeachment does not mean that the president has been removed from office. In the next phase, the Senate must hold a trial to make that determination. A Senate impeachment trial has happened only two other times in American history and once in the modern era. At the center of the Democrats’ case is that Trump sought to withhold military assistance and an Oval Office meeting until Ukraine announced investigations into former vice president Joe Biden and his son.

Belanger is a native Pennsylvanian, growing up in York County. He holds a degree in Broadcast Communications from Elon University in North Carolina. Belanger started his television career at KELO-TV in Sioux Falls, S.D., and later returned to Pennsylvania to join WTAE’s sister station WGAL-TV in Lancaster. While at WGAL, Belanger served as the station’s government reporter and routinely covered state politics as a member of the Pennsylvania Legislative Correspondents’ Association. He’s also occasionally traveled the country to file reports.Over the years, Belanger’s reporting has been honored with numerous first place awards from the Associated press and three regional Emmy Awards. One of his most memorable investigations exposed the practice of “ghost voting” in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives where it’s possible for lawmakers to rig their voting buttons to make it seem like they are present and voting when they may not even be in the capitol building in Harrisburg. Belanger lives in Pittsburgh’s East Liberty neighborhood and loves traveling, music and occasionally you might catch him singing.
